Yea. I had an interview last Friday and got an email Monday to say I am now on a panel. I was 77 oom in Donegal.

Has anyone experienced a Public Jobs scenario correction like this before? 2/6 questions affected, wondering what kind of OOM movement people actually saw (up or down) in similar cases

Id be interested to know have you received todays email from Public Jobs?

Maybe that’s for TCO or something mate. It’s not for this panel 👍

Definitely not for this competition, Donegal hasn't even started interviews yet

Ditto with me : I was shocked at how low I scored on the scenario score. It's somewhat difficult to imagine they could bump me down even lower (!) than I already was.

Does anyone have any idea of what 2 questions they were? were these the multiple choice ones?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,008 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

Yes, it's the good, adequate, weak and bad ones. But that will surely cause a major change to the OOM - that is 33% of the situation points right there that are incorrect.

Got it too, will be so disappointed if i score worse.

Having a rough day in work and could do without this cherry on top!

I got 25 OOM for my location. Interview done and passed, haven't heard anything further but I can only assume I'm now gonna now drop down a LOT!

Try to remain positive folks! If they havent scored 2 questions correctly out of the 6, you might improve your OOM. Very frustrating but unfortunately nothing we can do now.. cannot wait to be refreshing my emails tomorrow afternoon!!

I feel like sending this email and then leaving everyone waiting 24 hours is a bit cruel. Could they not have sent it just before releasing the new results

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,824 ✭✭✭Thepoet85

Sorry, just to clarify it is for the tco position.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,008 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

I could see it causing havoc - even the people who thought they were in the top 5-10% in the situational judgement test might not have been, as they got two of the scenario questions wrong.

There's a lot of unnecessary panicking going on here. First of all, nobody knows if scores will improve or get worse. I'd like to think that those who put time and effort into their application are more likely to move up the OOM.

My wife is in this and we were quite disappointed with her OOM. She has fantastic experience in admin and customer service. She also put serious consideration in to her responses. I honestly think she did a great job on the application.

I expect her OOM to improve.

We will all find out tomorrow. Let's just wait and see.

Anyone know have they started doing interviews for Longford?

(made an account just to comment on this lol)

For what it's worth, I placed in the 30s for Dublin. I have already done my interview on Friday April 10th.

When I was talking to the interviewer, it was after 2PM and he had been starting to lose his voice due to the amount of interviews he was doing. He seemed like he had quite a few more to do. I already got word on the following Monday to say I passed.

Previously, I have scored just over 1,000 on the Temporary Clerical Officer Nationwide 2026 Panel (applied November 2025) — I got these results in December. This batch of tests for the Permanent position were done Early March. This was obviously a MASSIVE jump for me, and I'm terrified about how much my result could plummet. My answers were only 5 months apart!

I hope this at least helps prove to some that this is very much real and a lot of us have already done the interview stage! Best of luck to everyone who is going to be affected by this

Would it be a possibility that they could create 2 panels for this 1 competition?

    • Panel 1: panel for people who have now been interviewed to date and placed on oom already prior to the realisation of the incorrect scoring.
    • Panel 2: the rest of candidates who have been rescored with the correct markings and then placed on oom to do their interview and so on?

then just pull from both panels when allocating? Makes it fair on those who have already been interviewed and placed as well as those who were judged unfairly on their application due to the marking error.

FWIW I’m way down the list for my small county so I’m hoping I get bumped up lol

The people who had a high OOM and who now get bumped down to a new lower OOM and who have already been interviewed may have no choice but to sit this one out and wait much longer for a job offer. From what I understand, there is no obligation on the CS to offer them a position soon after they have interviewed - the whole process will probably switch around to the new OOM now.

No, you'll be fine. 25 is an exceptional ranking and it's only 2 situational questions were referring to. If you're at 100 order of merit, it could make a difference either side

Unfortunately what will like happen is the new OOMs will be used. If you’ve interviewed you could be told we’re starting all over again. That’s probably the only “fair” way to resolve it.
I haven’t seen anyone say they’ve started a new CO role from this competition yet, maybe PAS will say if you’ve interviewed previously and are still within the first batch of interviews they’ll give you a pass?
I think people who have really good OOMs might not be affected as much but who knows with this now, it’s an admin disaster and made worse by interviews already being held in Dublin!

Can I please ask anybody who already had their interview, was it interview in person or online through Teams/Zoom?

    Mine was through zoom

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4 Aquitas187

I can only hope my OOM isn't effected too badly, it's possible that only two of the answers in each scenario were wrong rather than the entire question. We will see what tomorrow brings

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34 Whimsicalcat

How are we this far in the competition and they are only noticing this error now. So we have to jump through all these hoops to get a job in the cs and show that we highly skilled people who have meticulous attention to detail and make zero errors and they just mess up all of our OOMs and only correct it like 5 weeks after the application closes. Sorry for ranting but yeah. There's definitely some irony there. But best of luck everyone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 72 ✭✭weekend2014

Possibly been too much reliance on AI for creating and marking these assessments by PAS? Would be interested to know how much AI had to do with it all, as it took so long to notice the problem, issues happen but this was not picked up soon enough.

Hopefully we all get answers today, there is no way of knowing if we will move up or down the order of merit, just wait and see

The best course of action is to leave as is instead of all this messing about. Admit the error and continue as is.

I doubt the additional 2 answers will drastically change anyone’s scores as the previous 4 scenarios/ questions would have a similar approach.
