    Just tuned in.

Any word from the fella who rang Joe and described how he started smoking at 8 and gave them up in his 60s by starting to eat 10 packets of Polo "mince" a day.

Or did he die of lung cancer I wonder?

Missis, there are COI schools in Cavan, they are not all RC.

Ah no….. a woke lady who doesnt want her children to be taught rules to live life by. Thats what religion is.

Religion is not what it used to be - its not drumming in religious beliefs to kids anymore. Religion is very light in schools - even was when I went to school and I attended a convent school.

Caller: "I was technically Church of Ireland."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 3,878 ✭✭✭Dublin Calling

This wan has issues. We all wanted to to be COI, as it was more fun coloring in pictures from the Bible that learning the Catechism with a strict nun.

I think she technically is a nutter - completely overthinking it. She is making it hard for her kids, teachers and school.

She is the pain in the arse parent that is at the school door every morning moaning and moaning to every other parent. The majority of people still realise that a small amount of religion in schools is important.

I am not sure if it was a joke, as the thread was about VM having technical button issues.

There are plenty to COI schools in Cavan. Being COI herself, she would have no problem getting them in to one. There would be less religion in the school, as they are expected to attend their local church's Sunday school. Hold on, she just said she was raised Catholic, she was COI at the start!

Missus teachers do not spend hours doing religion.

Is there something wrong with Catholic schools..

    Usual Catholic bashing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,409 ✭✭✭Deeec

Im sure there is educate together schools aswell that she could send her kids to. There are options for her but these parents want to cause hassle. There are a few parents like this in my kids school. They even have problems with Christmas nativity play 😂

I was in primary school in the 60s and 70s and we did religion for half an hour a day 12 to 12.30- amazing how little has changed in more than 50 years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 3,878 ✭✭✭Dublin Calling

Teaching religion is now an extra option subject for student teachers. The number qualified to teach religion will drop significantly in future years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,409 ✭✭✭Deeec

Honestly religion is so light now in schools - I cannot understand how anyone would have a problem with their kids being thought how to be a good person. Thats what religion is now in schools. Its not what it used to be.

No personal knowledge but a fried went for a pint in his local village. There was this lad he knew vaguely who sidled up to him, irritating him as he was pissed. Sometime later this other guy arrived in and both repaired to the jacks. A few minutes later the drunk lad arrived up beside the friend as right as rain.
