the governments lack of action to control this is just going to embolden every ireland for the irish gobsh*te involved with this protest now when it comes to anything they feel strongly about. they need to get their sh*t together when it comes to law and order.

they haven’t become it, they were always it. And to be honest I’d say some of the negative story’s here are a bit of a stretch at best…

Which party would have prevented this situation?

This is my fourth time asking you now.

Ah so we're liars now to go with the sneering.

Stay classy in your Massey I suppose.

Just pray you don't experience any of the trauma or difficulties these protests are inflicting on others right now at some point in your life.

Because I assure you, the lack of empathy will be returned twofold.

There's no point trying to engage with posters like that. They don't have the intellect to understand the real issues. Just skip over it.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

You havent a clue you gobshyte. This was caused by trump and his minions. Nothing to do with the irish government.

They have reduced excise. Not many countries have. Does no one want to pay any tax in this country at all. Ye would be happy for us to go back to the poverty stricken hole of not so long ago.

    Go to bed you dope.

"We'll be gone home in an hour if they give us a meeting"

The hour is up. Why is there still arseholes in tractors still parked in the city center and outside fuel depots?

Liars! The protesters have become what they accused the politicians of being

Thats nothing more than I expected from you, I earn a good living without outside interference from the government, all my gear is fully paid off and I owe next to nothing in loans.

I spoke to a guy today with a similar enterprise and he made the point that most protesters are probably mortgaged to the hilt on new tractors, artic and rigids and when the pinch came on they couldn't handle it. It's nice to drive around in new trucks and tractors with all the bells and whistles and chrome exhausts but when things go wrong as they can theres no wiggle room.

These lads could do with a lesson in how to live within their means and stop making the bankers rich. Anyone I've talked to onsite in the last few days are saying protesters are looking like clowns and turning the public against them.

You'd want to have plenty spare time on your hands to stand around all day with your hands in you hi vis which all these lads evidently have, but then again I bet you wont see them when the silage has to be mowed as theyll be flat out and wont have time to be gossiping like fish wives at the market on the side of a motorway

Well there are a few questionable stories here alright and some very questionable solution suggestions too. I have a child who needs regular check ups and appointments in CHI(mentioned earlier today) I was there Monday, I sat in traffic and planned my trip as best I could all things considered. I understand why people are angry at the government for doing little to help the situation at hand as is always the case. Likewise I understand why people are annoyed to be inconvenienced but some change is needed.

    I’m a knuckle dragger I suppose.

How many of these fuckers blocking the streets and airports are Trump fans. I'd say 80%

    Ban billionaires

Well said. This is the main issue - lads with machinary they cannot afford and it lies idle most of year. These lads haven't any business sense whatsoever - blame it all on the cost of diesel.

Im an accountant and do accounts for the likes of these chancers.

Chris duffy telling his crew tonight, we said we'd go home after a phone call, well we won't, we'll go home after we see whats said at the meeting. Follows it up with there won't be an oil tanker moving in the country and how they have the country by the balls.

What an absolute arsehole of the highest order

A part of the agri contracting sector has become a sort of strange cabal and what's going on now is symptomatic of that. Fellas indebted to the hilt on new equipment charging big money to cut the same grass that existed since god was a boy as was done 30 years ago with Zetor Crystals and Ford 7000s. Flying drones and running YouTube channels and podcasts off the back of it. What we have now is agri contracting influencers and no doubt they're making plenty of coin off 'content' over this protest.

I think the agri sector would be better served going back to old practices. Local farmers coming together to purchase equipment and helping each other out at silage and harvest time.

If anyone sees this tonight with relevant info I’d appreciate it if you could give me a heads up……

Were there any go slow protests on the Donegal to Dublin road today?

I know that there were delays on the M50 alright…..destination is the Mater, appointment at 2pm…..considering leaving at 7 am to make it in time.

Since we're just pulling figures out of our arse I'll say 0%

If lads are up to their neck in debt on that machinery, bankers repossessing it for missed payments would put a stop to it fairly quickly. It is technically the banks assets after all which are being put to criminal use.

The core concept of the protests is beyond stupid. We wont have empty shelves and no food cause the price to farm and haul products will simply increase. This is potentially inflationary but the idea that it is injurious to the haulage industry is fundamentally stupid.

Which is why the haulage industry bodies are nowhere near this protest. It is a tiny subset of malcontents trying to hold the country hostage because of their **** business model and to give into them is an abhorrent concept.

That’s exactly what it is, we may have tough times ahead because of US Israel Iran but this is BS of the highest order.

Its inevitable that everyone is going to ve worse off due to the conflict. These lads think the government can wave a magic wand at everything will be back to normal.

They don't need to arrest all of them, just go after the ringleaders and take them out of play. I'd be certain their identities are well-known and it'll be the same usual suspects as are behind everything else.

These people don't even need to be charged. There will only be a handful of them, so pick them up on reasonable suspicion, and drag them off to separate Garda stations for their 24 or 48 hours, long enough to destabilise the hanger-on thug element, then release them without charge.

Should be enough to kill it off.

    Train isn't an option?

Go slows could materialise at any time. There was one on the N4 this evening. I imagine you will be fine as far as Mullingar that early but I'd go back roads from there divert off to the Downs, ballyivor summer hill, dunboyne route.

I've been so busy at work the last couple of days this protest has gone under my radar. Didn't realise how much disruption it is causing. Just watched Primetime, Jesus wept. And saw on Twitter that McRapist is latching onto the protest too. Black Forge pub grub for all de protestors in Dublin, blessed be God most highest #Truth #God. Oh the irony! Trump's biggest fan and has been begging to fight in the Whitehouse for months, the prime reason for this shitshow. Gas altogether…

Thats why these talks might fail. These protestors are utterly untrustworthy and as consistent as diarrhea. If it was just grown ups negotiating then fine it'll get sorted. But the likes of Duffy, McDonnell and Geohagen are likely to just turn the thing into a Burke level farce as they roar about whatever drivel falls out their mouths.
