Lookat the childrens hospital, or the bike shed at the dail, , there's loads of similar money wastedby public servants .

I see OPW diggers with Two drivers, one sleeps in the car while he other drives.

I had heart surgery lately and an OPW worker advised me to work with them and it wouldn't cause heart problems

Recent reports in Ireland have highlighted significant concerns regarding the waste of taxpayers' money by public bodies, with cases including a €490,000 perimeter wall at the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC), a €300 million spend on the stalled Metro North, and an unused €7 million IT system

. Critics cite a "culture of waste" within the Office of Public Works (OPW) and other departments.''

In early 2024, Westmeath County Council was the victim of a sophisticated invoice redirect fraud totaling €515,000.

    • The Scam: Fraudsters sent a fake notification to the council claiming a legitimate supplier had changed their bank account details. This led the council to transfer the large sum to a fraudulent account in January 2024.
    • Investigation Status: While initial reports in early 2025 suggested the case was closed because funds were untraceable after being moved to a British account, CEO Barry Kehoe later clarified in September 2025 that the investigation remains active.

Sitting in a bus today, I had up close views of a number of lads driving John Deere's on a suburban road, while using their cellphones.

    Nothing illegal, my arsé.

I can’t believe these clowns are threatening a second day of ‘protests’.

WTF are the Guards doing entertaining this nonsense? Start arresting people and impounding vehicles.

The protest was so effective Trump backed down. Let's see what they can achieve on day 2.

The Gardai will do nothing as we saw yesterday. Just stand by and watch, or even enable this nonsense.

These idiots are making it up as they go and feeling their oats now that they got away with it yesterday.

Listening to the news this morning and buses are trapped, LUAS is disrupted, and O'Connell Street blocked. Who do these entitled morons think they're hurting? The Government? Clearly they've never seen the ministerial Audi's with blue lights that force their way through traffic - won't be affecting them!

As you say, it'd be a very different story if vehicles were taken away and charges and fines issued which is exactly what should happen this morning.

Why does it have to be replaced? Cut spending.

Had or you driven into the city and parked up on O'Connell Street or bridge we'd be moved on within minutes.

But the protest seems to have worked, they had the US and Iran agree to a 2 week ceasefire, fair play to the assholes.

"It's actually the government that are blocking the streets,.... we're blocking nuttin".

    Also blocking the fuel depots.

Brain trust these assholes are not.

Drove back to Cork yesterday from a wedding in Dundalk and it took us almost 6 hours, that in fairness included a 30 mins break for food. A journey which should have taken 3.5 hours at most.

This 'protest' doesn't have popular support going by some of my observations.

Witnessed a truck driver carrying a load of structural steel verbally arguing with the protestors as we approached the Portlaoise road block. I didn't hear the verbals but judging by his rage I doubt he was supportive.

My journey definitely involved travelling 5-10% more distance, I'm not sure how extending the journeys of thousand of motorists and hauliers today helps conserve fuel supplies. Remember, it's a shortage of fuel supplies that has driven prices up.

The blockade at Urlingford in particular forced traffic down the old Dublin road, a road with many poorly designed junctions and a road that was never designed for that volume of traffic. Creating a road safety issue.

Cashel had a huge tailback of several km's through the town. The town was totally choked up. A medical emergency in the town centre necessitating an ambulance transfer to Clonmel would have been certainly delayed as a result.

Just my observations from yesterday. Not sure this type of action is very popular outside of those protesting and their echo chamber. Not to mention that the rent a mob gang now seem to have attached themselves to this cause.

The protesters can't be that stuck for money to pay for fuel, if they can afford to walk away from their jobs for two days.

RTE news are saying there is talk of blocking access to the Port Tunnel and Dublin Airport later today. If they abandon vehicles outside an airport, that's a security issue and the vehicles should be impounded. No international airport allows people to just abandon their vehicles outside the airport.

Plenty of gardai about....directing traffic to avoid the quays that's about it...

absolute joke. Guards should throw up combined RSA/customs tax, insurance and test checkpoints, get out there are dip tanks and check everything seeing as the roads are stopped anyway

    L

Absolutely. A lot of the scum I see cheering these clowns on on FB are the usual racist parasites that don't work or drive- of course you'd cheer this shite on when it doesn't affect you. Time for the guards to do their job and start cracking some skulls

Blocking the luas seems a sure way of turning the public against your agenda , though at this stage not sure most of them know what the agenda is

Protesting about fuel prices by holding up traffic is like campaigning against premarital sex while working in the porn industry.

The irony is lost on these knuckledraggers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,496 ✭✭✭jacool

Carnage down near Ringaskiddy, with the added irony that they are blocking loads of trucks that have just gotten off the ferry. Not joined up thinking in that regard, if you piss off the people that you should be having on your side.

Great to see the fuel protests pissing off all the champagne socialists in their overpriced EVs.

If it was a protest in support of Ukraine or Palestine they'd be falling over themselves to support it.

Keep the protest going ..it's long overdue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,643 ✭✭✭✭Hurrache

Clown, it's people on public transport that are most effected.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,201 ✭✭✭✭Red Silurian

Overpriced EVs, that's a laugh... If, anything diesel and petrol cars are the overpriced ones haha!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,110 ✭✭✭DarkJager21

Getting back at the government by disrupting travel for normal people, blocking ambulances, preventing people getting to hospital appointments...not a **** braincell between them. We know who the clowns in this country are, they are sitting on the **** motorways at the moment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 182 ✭✭JoyceDavenport

    Get out and walk.

You might notice all the foreign gypsy beggars and IPAS fakeugees standing around drinking and ogling women.

The only people being pissed off here is the ordinary working man.

if they wanted to piss off the "champagne socialists" they have failed miserably as the dail isn't even back in session

And like I said in an earlier post - here's the proof. The racist parasites attaching their shite to a protest about fuel prices.
