Military operation. I'm almost sure it's the exact phrase that Putin used to describe Ukraine war.

“специальная военная операция” was the exact phrase, but pretty much that

Yes but at least admit Trump is a special type of scumbag who could potentially use a nuke. You're talking about a rapist, a conman, a thief, a war criminal, a highly likely probable paedophile.

This is not a man anyone should be defending in any capacity.

Still can’t believe Vance is in Hungary trying to interfere in an election of a communist Pitin puppet.

It’s unbelievable yet just normal now from America.

You're away with the fairies. Take a look at Tel Aviv. Take a look at the 100 plus tanks hezbollah have obliterated. Hundreds of IDF killed.

Take your head out of the sand. Israel is done. Theres a massive push in the US to end all funding to Israel. The population is leaving en masse. Theres protests against Satanyahu. Its a complete shìtshow.

If you're going to prove a cogent corroborated report on the illegal war, facts tend to help.

    Haaretz report this evening:

"Haaretz has learned that despite recent claims by senior Israeli military and government officials to the contrary, IDF intelligence assessments indicate that Hezbollah still functions as a stable military force in southern Lebanon. Reports compiled in recent days showed that Hezbollah maintains an organized hierarchy in the area and that its command and control array allows it to effectively deploy its forces and maintain operational continuity while fighting."

What's stopping you from making a judgement now? It's very clear that this war will not go well at all, price of oil, death of civilians, no strategy…but you need to wait?

Is this Iranian in the room with you now,, they have made their position clear , discussions ended,Trump will make out other countries appealing on their behalf as talks when he tacos, they posed no threat prior to the attack, otherwise trump wouldn't have attacked,at the end of this it will be the same except for all the people killed by Trump for a distraction from him being a paedophile.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

I don't think he would use a nuke in this war. No way. This was a tactic played by his pal Putin. All bluster, makes headlines but it's never going to happen.

To destroy Iran as a civilisation you'd need about 100-200 nukes. The country is enormous. Irrelevant there won't be one dropped by Trump.

    Hmm, OK, so

    1. The Afghan withdrawal was agreed by the first Trump administration. Biden just fulfilled the last part of it, approx 2-2.5k from what was 13-14k soldiers. Trump had reduced from that initial figure to what Biden worked with. So hard to see how you jump from that to "Biden was freeing up assets from Afghanistan to go after Venezuela and Iran". Talk about a leap !
    2. @namloc1980 and @Podge_irl were basically agreeing that the right would have a meltdown if Biden or Obama had done a fraction of what Trump has done. Feel free @namloc1980 @Podge_irl to correct me if I'm wrong.
Yet your response, somehow, was about Democrats being in the Israeli pockets too. Can't disagree with that in fairness, but it is a bit of "look over there" diversionary tactics. Straight from the Trump playbook, coincidence or not?
    3. Libya was not the same (please don't insult us by trying to pretend that's why Trump is in Iran 🙄)
    4. It was Churchill and Eisenhower (another Republican) that sowed the seeds of the current Iranian hate for the US and it's allies back in 1953. As the old saying goes "if we hadn't started there then we wouldn't be here"

I wonder will FIFA retract his peace prize now?

The world is entirely gone to the upside down.

The scale and number of strikes on Iran Vs Israel or Tel Aviv is night and day. A lot of AI stuff doing the rounds regarding Tel Aviv.

Hezbollah have been severely degraded and are currently being pushed out of Southern Lebanon. Let's see Tel Aviv?

The "Pakistani peace proposal" published on twitter by their PM has quite an unfortunate edit history.
Likely the proposal was written by the US and passed to Pakistan to publish and be presented as an off ramp.

Allowing trump to TACO whilst appearing to be talking to Iran, an Iran who don't need to do anything other than maintain their current positions to cause US & global economic pain.

Also, the latest NYT article by Maggie Haberman really does come across as an effort by the Whitehouse to lay the blame for Iran war squarely at the feet of Nethanyahu.

Absolutely and pathetically incompetent at every level.

Reuters is reporting that TACO has agreed "to suspend bombing and attack of Iran for 2 weeks" and there will be a 2 week ceasefire from both sides.

    1. There's a bigger geopolitical picture and all presidents have continued it. Trump and Biden worked together to free up their troops from Afghanistan. On the face of it both should be given credit for getting out of there but realistically they were changing direction towards Iran.

    2. Podge was saying Harris was an enemy of Iran and I was following on.

    3. Libya shows the democrat approach to Libya (the people are being massacred they need help) is reason enough to intervene. They've of had plenty of moral high ground to stand on after the January massacres in Iran.

We all have our opinions on this but clarification needed to be brought after you told me to give it a rest. I joined the conversation which was ongoing and it went from there.

    I called it!!!

Nukes never on the table tonight. The straight is back open for two weeks. Let the shipping commence.

Iran won't get bombed for two weeks or continue bombing a multitude of allies it's currently attacking.

During this two weeks I hope the Iranian regime and the US/Israel can agree to terms.

In an ideal world Iran will give the enriched uranium to the UN and it will announce democratic elections plus an end to the Islamic theocracy. A pipe dream I know.

Keep watching fox and the BBC. They'll keep your fantasies intact. Hezbollah have mastered drones in the same way the Ukrainians did and against a far less formidable machine. Any Israeli occupation won't last any significant period. After this war they'll be an international pariah.

This is Trump chickening out YET AGAIN.

Cue the Republicans inevitably praising Trump’s restraint, 4D chess, tactical genius or some such bullsh*t.

Every single one of them deserves to live a life of endless ignominy and misery for enabling this demented clown show.

I follow a multitude of OSINT accounts on various wars. Mainly Ukraine but Iran and Lebanon get a lot of attention. Hezbollah are in a bad place.

Well, if he did nuke them we all wouldn't be around to say you're wrong, so hardly the difficult call.

What you're missing of course is the fact that

    1) he said it

    2) most normal people believed it to be a viable threat and

    3) if he meant it, he should be removed as it would have been a war crime and he is far too volatile to remain in power

    4) if he didn't, threatening annihilation of a country is completely unacceptable, deranged and he should be removed on that basis.
