She can go fuck herself TBH.

She was told time and time again what the nature of Trump was and she chose to close her eyes to it for a long time and rail against everyone who told her the truth.

    She's part of the problem.

Well then, I put it to you, that if both are objectively bonkers....it follows any adherents to either would have to be considered at least somewhat cognitively challenged.

To give her credit (holds nose) MTG has been against this war from the start. She took Trump at his word as a 'no war'' president and is totally disillusioned now and she's been determined to get the Epstein files released for a long time now, even co-operating with Democrats on the issue. She's no friend of Israel either. As a result she's now been condemned as a 'RINO'. Strange as it seems, unlike most of the Republicans in Congress, she actually believes in something, even though it's stands out from a background of hatemongering and conspiraloonery.

That whole exchange (when clicked in) is the ramblings of a deranged lunatic.. basically Iran will have no country left. Is he going to bomb 90m people or something..

King Kev was definitely a decent skin but his words had the tendency to turn into the kiss of death.

Doing co-commentary for ITV on Romania v England at the 1998 World Cup, very late in the game with the score at 1-1 he said "only one team can win this game now and that's England". Romania scored the winner immediately afterwards.

He also did the co-commentary on the Argentina v England last 16 game, and as Newcastle's David Batty stepped up for a must score penalty, Brian Moore asked him, "Kevin, you know David Batty so well, will he score?" "Yes!" Batty's timidly hit penalty was saved and England's World Cup was over.

As far as Donald Trump is concerned only one team can win this war and that's AMERICA!

Unfortunately for the world Donald Trump has gone Batty.

It's sad to see such a powerful and proud nation as the US reduced to gutter type actions. Having watched world politics for almost 60 years, and being supportive of Trump's candidacy in the last election, I never thought I would see them debased like they currently are. And while the country might recover somewhat in the future, the US will never again be 'the shining light on the hill'.

How were you supportive of Trump's candidacy in the last election when you witnessed him instigate an attack on the US Capitol during his first term?

What did you think was going to happen?

Do you read that 'frog and the scorpion' parable and think, '….I'd say these two will get across that river grand….' 🙄???

    Good god…..

Very hard to see what sort of a 'deal' could be struck before then. Iran want a load of concessions from the US before they agree to reopen the Strait.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,708 ✭✭✭amacca

Trump does have a knack for leaving his country in a worse position due to his actions

The **** moron has by his actions managed to accelerate the timetable for..or indeed provide major competitors with more leverage over his country than they would've had if he had just spent his time gazing at his no doubt ample fetid navel

The Chinese now have him by the balls when it comes to rare earth's etc ..so reduce the tariffs you dumb orangutan...

His actions in Iran have now closed a strait that was open before he started his ill informed adventure and handed the Iranians a new sorce of revenue (effectively a toll booth in Hormuz) and leverage over the world's energy

It's also likely they now very much will be acquiring a nuclear device thanks very much so another abject failure

Has turned what were formerly considered assets (military bases) in ME into what may possibly be considered liabilities now by those countries and the US itself and no doubt strained relations with these allies and contributed to further instability

Has increased revenue for Putin...but who knows maybe that's deliberate

And appears to be involved in the shadiest of shady grifting etc etc

The cnut is so far from what I assume were the ideals of the founding fathers at this stage...none of the above mention the damage he is responsible for in the US itself...

I'd say could keep going but it's mind blowing any of this can be said truthfully about a US president and he hasn't been somehow removed from his position

What an utter abject disastrous failure of a human....

The art of the deal......the man couldn't successfully run a snack shop.

What on earth else did you expect if you supported his candidacy?

Yeah would seem like a massive loss of face for trump to call off the dogs at this stage, given how much specific threatening he had been doing this time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,682 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

The attack on Tuesday might not go ahead but it's hard to see how concessions from Iran is the thing that stops it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 599 ✭✭✭midlander12

Yes true, but Vance can function without descending into the sort of bizarre ramblings that Trump does. Trump without the dementia, I suppose.

It's an indictment of the American two-party system as much as anything. In most normal democracies, you have several parties to choose from. If one party goes mad and massively mishandles public policy during their time in power, they can go to the back of the pack in the next election.

In the American system, if one of the parties goes mad, they're still the only viable alternative to the other, so all they really have to do is wait a few years for the other party to get the blame for everything wrong (including problems the mad party created) and they get back in.

Still, it's been utterly stunning to watch the American voting populous undergo a case of collective amnesia over four short years of just how bad Trump was. I know there are many Americans for whom Trumpism is not a bug but a feature, but all those other who turned out for Biden in 2020 is unforgivable, as is the ones who were talking about giving Trump a chance as if he was some kind of unknown quantity, when he was in fact a very fúcking known quantity. His backers wrote a big table-breaking tome on how they planned to dismantle American democracy during a second term of his, which they then set about enacting point-by-point to the surprise of absolutely no-one paying the slightest bit of attention.

Just fúck off, anyone expressing buyers remorse about the man.

    Agree.

This was well known before and especially after Jan 6th 2021 so it is very disingenuous to come out and say that it was unexpected .

So many were just on the anti woke, anti Left bandwagon and loved having the feeling that they had someone who was going to crush those of that ideology . However they refused to believe that going that far in the opposite direction can be worse and more difficult to control .

Warnings and red flags were ignored even up to the last few weeks .

Needs somebody in the midline to steer this back but is there anybody of that political persuasion in US politics ?

    Edit spelling

Their cognitively challenged supporters are who created this ****-show in the first place electing him for his first term, and then added further supporters of the same ilk to elect him this time.

Being cognitively challenged is not a problem in getting elected in the U.S. from dog catcher up to president anymore. If anything it`s now a basic requirement.

Trump didn’t happen in a vacuum.

He’s a reflection of America’s soul, their character.

If Trump had a heart attack tonight, nothing will change. Individually they’re a lovely people the Yanks, but collectively America is absolutely rotten to its core in many ways, and until that changes MAGA will run the show.

Trump was and is a scumbag, but anyone willing to give him the vote is equally culpable for what he does because they knew damn well what they were voting for.

The American people are at fault for this, for not demanding better from their leaders, and not standing up to them when they fail. They’ve allowed themselves to rot within, and in that rottenness, they vomited out Trump.

The only way America sees the end of this era of MAGA is civil war, international humiliation or total economic collapse to trigger a rethink.

And the worst part is Trump is merely the first of the rottenness to emerge, it’s the competent monsters like Stephen Miler to come after him in absolute power we should really be worried about.

Iran should hold out until the price of oil hits $200-$300. That will cause a global recession and sink the Trump regime.

Iran will be fine in no time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,635 ✭✭✭ilkhanid

In an USA of MAGA fanatics, we should welcome any intervention from any of them who have, however belatedly, seen the light. As I said, unlike 98% of them, it turned out that she actually believed in something other than whatever the God Emperor said and whatever it took to keep in his good books and keep the money rolling in. In a country where those who turn against him get death threats it took some courage at least. Seeing some of the spittle-flecked fury and rage-often with a characteristically MAGA misogynistic element-that has been turned against her now, makes me feel at least some sympathy for her. The prodigal was forgiven in the end.

he did claim to be anti-war though. It would be legit fir a trump voter to claim they were sold a pup about that imo, although surprisingly few seem to be…

Ultimately, you have to deal with the choice in front of you, not the one you'd prefer to have. It's like a binary referendum.

The 2016 result was, to say the least, complex, for reasons which we need not go into now. In 2024, voters who were functioning adults cannot but have been aware of who and what Trump was. Nor were the Biden administration's undoubted failures so egregious that they excused democracy being thrown out with the Democrat bathwater (not that anything would ever excuse that).

even voting for Trump the first time ye should be ashamed of yourselves. A career fraudster. He should have been barred from ever having a position on any company board, never mind president.

Will you fu-ck off. You nuts. Maybe Iran can do that but others of us can not. It would not be a recession it would be a depression.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.
