I thought the F-15 crashed and the pilot was rescued quite a distance from where they rescued the weapons guy? Does anyone have the reported detail about the F-15 crash site?

79% of Republicans support the war, but this falls to 49% among 18-19 year old Republicans in poll.

serious ratchet up of threats from trump today while at same time mention of possible deal tomorrow...

"Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP"

A couple of things leap to mind regarding the aircraft destroyed in Isfahan.
    1. Why were they anywhere near Isfahan at all given where the WSO rescue op was underway is hundreds of KM from there.
With access from Kuwait and Iraq, a misdirection maybe but setting up a FOB hundreds of kilometers inside Iran, similarly 100s of Km from the rescue target is odd.

    2. The photos doing the rounds of the C130s and MH-6 the US claimed to have destroyed aren't great but one thing that jumps out at me, is the prop damage visible.
I'll caveat this with an important point, I don't know enough about carbon fibre props to know how they deform in fire.
    But.
Props bent backwards are generally an indication that they were turning upon impact in a dynamic collision.

The FOB being near Isfahan is really, really strange. There's a possibility that they were feinting there to draw out IRCG and other forces to allow a force recon in advance of the HEU raid?
But, as I said when I 1st posited the possibility?
    I still think that's a lunatic option.

The Gulf states have shown extreme restraint so far, but I don't see that continuing. Attacks on power and desalination plants must be the reddest of lines.

FFS I thought that was a joke, I see it’s been widely reported he actually said that.

Realistically what can they do about it if the US has not been able to stop it.

I know, it's really quite incredible isn't it?

Deeply deeply unsuited for any kind of leadership role.....

What reasonable person would vote for a convicted sex offender?

Electing him the first time could have been written off as a disrupter event of the social media age, but to opt twice again for shows only that his voters don't believe in society, nation or government. They really just want to tear the whole thing down, regardless of the consequences for them.

Same, I thought it was a parody.

Trump and his powerful friends traffic and do unspeakable things to children. Nothing is a parody. Trump needs to be exterminated. This Israel-lead power play in the Hormuz Strait is going to totally destabilize the region and threatens the global economy as well. Nothing surprises me with Trump and there is nothing legitimate about anything the US does anymore, it is a rogue state and I pray to God that there will be some justice coming their way.

I can only hope that accounts predictions are of the kind that usually don't come true.…..

US sources claiming they destroyed the aircraft to stop them falling into Iranian hands.

    1. Presumably they had their reasons. The salient point is that they seem to have managed setting up a FOB hundreds of kilometers inside Iran. Recall the skepticism a couple days earlier on the matter of delivering a grader to make an airfield, in this case, they delivered a disassembled helicopter. (And given what seems to have done in the C-130, a grader might not have been the worst idea). The nature of the aircraft being in proximity also indicates "FOB", not "Shot down"
    2. If it were a strike from a rotating prop hitting something, several things would have happend. a) Carbon fibre shatters upon impact, it doesn't bend. Watch any F1 collision. b) If a blade does bend, they will all bend in the same direction, not 'shortest direction to gravity'. c) If the blades do bend, they tend to all bend as the engine spins around, the ones already pointing downwards seem to be straight enough.

Thus far, there is nothing to disprove that things happened exactly as has been reported.

Problem with that analysis is that the scepticism was pointed to planes being able to land and take off again with the nuclear material… emphasis on the taking off part

The skepticism regarding the viability of an op to deliver dozers, hold the FOB for 48hrs and to attack an emplaced, likely underground base to retrieve and extract the HEU that is rumoured to be in Isfahan isn't lessened this op.

Indeed given that the FOB was apparently in Isfahan?
I'd argue that the high level command sought to burn the planned location for the FOB near Isfahan in this recovery operation.
It saves a direct confrontation with POTUS and refusing an order.
It uses the topography that they had likely already surveyed well in advance of presenting the "Lunatic option".

Using what appears to have been a 1200mtr agricultural strip, ensures that should the call go out for the raid I posited on 30/3 and WaPo reported as a plan presented on the 1/4.
That "Unfortunately in the effort to rescue the WSO, our pre scouted location for the Isfahan assault is no longer viable".
Becomes a perfectly reasonable excuse that command can couch in the win of rescuing the WSO.
It is an option that in the long run, will save American lives from a futile operation.

Yeah sure. Throwing around terms and words you don't really understand, doesn't really make you any smarter or me stupid T. There's a lot of posters in immediate need to grow up and learn what certain lately fashionable words means.

Presumably you think Ukraine should surrender so? I don't.

how presidential? By the way anyone seen that rescued pilot yet? Great 'winning' opportunity for pressy pedophile if he or she was actually rescued.

I'm a lot more intelligent than you are. I also couldn't care less what you think about anything.

You surely are T. Thanks for that. It's probably the way the most of fanatics in Iran are thinking. Without any care for it's own ordinary citizens. Yet you certainly are more intelligent..

Edit: Can't really help it for a laugh of it, but wouldn't your own post put you on the same path as any other brainwashed tool of their greater target.

iran again not bowing down to US demands to open straits (one can only assume the US always wants commitment to handover uranium as well)

Iran's parliament speaker says 'our whole region is going to burn' due to Trump's actions

Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, the speaker of the Parliament of Iran, responded to Trump’s threats in a social media post.

“Your reckless moves are dragging the United States into a living HELL for every single family, and our whole region is going to burn because you insist on following Netanyahu’s commands,” he wrote.

Senior adviser to Iran's supreme leader warns Trump of consequences should they escalate again. Last time with the Red sea was quite disruptive but now with the shortage in oil it would be serious seen as Saudi are exporting a lot of kerosene and diesel from there now as well as crude. Asia would be in a right mess, it would take months to go round Africa and back.

but what does ‘surrender’ mean for Iran in the current context? Opening the straits, which presumably they would be doing anyway in the not too distant future? They could just say they are doing it in the interests of their own people and those of the other gulf countries, not as a consequence of American pressure…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 231 ✭✭Arseboxing

This is a war. Do you know what war is? Iran didn't choose to make war. America and Israel did. America and Israel are losing the war.

Why on earth would Iran relent when it is humiliating the USA and Trump?

It's up to America and Israel and the mad Nazi regimes which control them to relent.

Your demand that Iran surrender is the exact same as the Russia apologists who say Ukraine should surrender.
