This is demonstrating why Home Economics should be a compulsory class in schools. Some youngsters haven’t a clue.

Even though I can cook, I really regret not doing Home Ec. As well as the cookery basics, stuff like nutrition, and other Home Economics type of stuff I probably would have done very well in it. Back in those days, mid-90's it was still seen as a girly subject, so I was put off by that.

Wait…does your username point to partial redemptive self-education through mastery of lamb shank dishes?😀

Do your powers of deduction come with tights and a cape?

(In case you thought I was being sarcastic, I have no idea of the genesis of your username🙃)

It's a portmanteau of one of my favourite movies and one of my favourite cuts of meat, so you weren't far off!

Finally a bit of drama. Lawrence proving himself to be a weasel by dodging responsibility even as PM and trying to scapegoat Rajan.

Kier being barely able to contain his rage even back at the house was great, bet it was a fun trip back to the house with Lawrence.

Only explanation got Lawrence surviving must be his business.

Lawrence surviving was indefensible. However - message to the producers - Levi's flush intensity makes cutaway shots a continuity nightmare...

Lawrence's overconfidence, arrogance and delusion will likely get him dumped before the final. He's far too highly strung and sucking up to Tim about his podcast, trying to suck up to Lord Sugar with picking Levi was just pathetic and so slimy…I can imagine he'd be an absolute nightmare to work with.

I am absolutely delighted that we're getting another fetch task next week, they're always the most fun.

that PM was lucky he wasn’t fired last night. If he’d brought Lawrence in think L could have been axed (then again they were dumb and dumber and equally bad on this task). Harry has been hiding under the long grass. The team would easily have had time to pick up the sweets.

Has to be coming down to their Business plans at this stage

The sweets were the easiest thing to get. Its not a custom or bespoke item, its a thing you can get in practically any shop. No need for price negotiations just get them.

I was generally amazed kieran wasn't fired. I think maybe AMS likes him, which is what saved him.

Theres a weird kind of duality in recent years in that one challenge they are designing a VR game and then in the go fetch task they can't Google what something is.

The contestants they get are generally so poor they don't need to put in the tricks like an 8 speed cassette which is actually a bike part, even the sweets proved that!

    Bewildering how Kieran again survives...

Must be a business plan that Lord Sugar likes because he's been toxic otherwise.

I think that Levi just wasn't a match from the get-go and he's looked lost throughout. Was only a matter of time before they found a reason so get rid.

Unrelated, it's interesting that they've stopped pushing the You're Fired replacement podcast in the credits.

BBC NI dropped the after-show this week to show a repeat of QI. I actually prefer this new after-show to the Tom Allen studio one - there has actually been the odd nugget of useful information about the task/process.

Interestingly some posters on Digital Spy did some digging as to why the numbers of items sold as declared by Karren/Tim was much greater than what was shown on screen during the live sales. It seems that there were other products sold which we never saw in either the item selection or sales sections. This seems an incredible deliberate bit of negative editing for the candidates involved, with Rothna and Karishma being the 2 candidates who got these unseen sales.

Kieran isn’t very likable, seems a bit petty. Him and Conor didn’t like each other at all.

I don’t think Sugar liked when Conor said he didn’t need to be PM again to prove himself.

Does Lord Sugar know their business plans at this stage ? I recall that the interviews are where business plans are discussed. I always thought it bad that a candidate could get as far as the interviews only to have their business plan rejected.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,213 ✭✭✭✭ArmaniJeanss

Yes, he knows the ideas at a basic level. E.g, 'I want to sell artisan toffee from kiosks in railway stations'. 'I want to print slogans on plain shirts imported from Asia'.

But I dont think he knows the nuts and bolts of the plans at this stage. But he has enough to know what he instinctively likes or dislikes.

The one thing i miss from an earlier format of the after-show is, Karen Brady being Harsh but fair. It was always what you were thinking at home as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,324 ✭✭✭✭LambshankRedemption

I imagine he has some inkling, because he wouldn't want to risk firing someone who has invented a perpetual motion engine. Similarly, if it's someone's plan to try and sell ice to eskimos, but they are afraid of snow, you would want to be getting rid of them early on.

Edit: watching it now. Now I dont like this task to begin with, but jesus, this is so cringe!

Yeah I think he confirmed it in his book that he has a broad idea of the plan but as others have said, not to any fine detail.

Which is definitely why some candidates have gone so far despite awful performances.

How Priyesh has made the final is crazy. Well, constantly being on the right team or not bad enough in losing ones will do that I guess but I don't think I can recall a 'final five' contestant being so anonymous and a passenger throughout. He constantly looks bewildered. Even Lord Sugar had a dig at him 😂

Glad to see the back of Kieran, came across as deeply unlikeable.

Watching now. There is potential for gold in this episode.

I never took to him. Stereotypical estate agent to be honest. And like some of the estate or property agents Ive dealt with, clearly knows f**k all about f**k all.

she didn’t do great on the TV selling but I like Karishma- I think she is often dismissed by the other candidates. The week of the gaming task she had valid contributions but overlooked; she seems like a genuinely honest hardworker
