Priest and R Truth will end in tears

    Matt this week's RKO victim

having truth and priest win the belts after 3 matches together is a joke.. when the division was flying over the summer with great teams..

I do hate the trope of singles wrestlers smashed together are immediately better than any tag team but I'm hoping if nothing else that this leads to the belts getting out of the endless MFT/Wyatt Sicks vortex and the tag division can get rebuilt going into Mania on the back of this.

Smackdown is just weird these days. Don't really have much more to add than that.

It seems to be doing all the heavy lifting of building the WM undercard. Raw just seems to be fully focused on the Punk/Reigns build.

That F[lip] Around and Tind Ut shirt is bad and they should feel bad. Or some sort of cotton/bad blend.

Randy's phone buddy revealing there identity tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,569 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Well never even crossed my mind

At least a new direction for Pat

Totally unnecessary involvement and addition to the match.

The fact they had him put down loads of other performers makes it even more stupid.

They had the history to use for these too. Randy is well able to talk and act, he doesn't need any help.

If that is the best reason they could find for people not to back Randy in this feud (won't work) then maybe they should have let people shout for what they want and have Randy be Randy.

    That Smackdown was sh1te.

I don't understand why Cody/Randy can't just be playing up their history. Instead it has the involvement of Jelly Roll and Pat McAfee. They obviously learned nothing from last year and the reaction Travis Scott got. I don't even mind McAfee in small doses but as a reveal it's bad and makes no sense (why did he say wrestling has more than one royal family)

On the same note, why is Lil Yachty involved. He genuinely made Trick Williams less cool and over, you could hear it from the crowd. TKO needs to stop being such starf**kers, I can't imagine many people are really tuning in any more for their inclusion.

Hate what the did with Melo as well, what was that about? Nasty way of him being left off the card if that's the case.

Main thing I liked was the Danhausen cursing the ref spot. He's been a fun bright spot the last few weeks.

Card for Mania looks good on paper but the build has been tripe.

I’m hoping the Melo thing leads to a triple threat at mania otherwise they’ve stiffed him good.

The McAfee involvement completely tone deaf decision again. They even got him to mention there’s still tickets available. The business isn’t f’d WWE is.

AEW has been CRUSHING it lately. I can see endeavour getting bored once the WWE house figures continue to drop. I’m confident enough to state WWE will die in my life time at the current trajectory and greed model.

They did the whole thing of calling out the fans are disappointed yet won't actually address it. Though Pat's comment about 5'5" guys having 45 min matches was a dig at the US title matches I assume?

wrestling fans: "man we really want to see Randy Orton do the Punt again!

A source indicates that Ari Emanuel believes Pat McAfee is a star and will help elevate the program between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes and get it to where it needs to be, between his show on ESPN and SmackDown episodes before WrestleMania.

TKO are firm believers that mainstream names will help bring more eyes to the product and sell more tickets as they return to Las Vegas.

Jesus they are clueless I thought they monitored social media for fans advice!

I read online that Ari Emanuel the CEO of TKO is the one who wanted Pat involved due to Pat’s star power and Triple H signed off on it.

I know I'm out of touch (I don't know who Luke Combs so was surprised 2 nights sold out) but only place I hear of these people is on WWE.

Like the host of tonight's Stand & Deliver is Sexyy Red who I only know from the last time she hosted and was really bad.

But they're all multi platinum selling artists.

I'm the same. Camera pans to somebody in the front row at Raw.."Oohhh it's Big Baby!". Actually now that I think of it that's the president, I do know him unfortunately.

Didn't Pat McAfee do this big bollocks heel thing in Nxt ?

  • Moderators, Business & Finance Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 27,335 Mod ✭✭✭✭Loughc

He did and he was good at it and it worked as that was his level. He’s not WM main event story worthy. So many other talents could have been given this slot. Pat McAfee is not the megastar TKO thinks he is.

None of the celebrities they bring in make any material difference. People might watch a clip on social media out of idle curiosity when the algorithm throws it up but that's about it. They're not going to start watching three hours of Raw or Smackdown every week or eight hours of Wrestlemania. All it's doing is alienating those that do watch.

    Source: PWInsider and BodySlam Net

Word going around is that the Cody Rhodes promo on SmackDown after the tag match wasn’t originally planned and wasn’t even listed on the internal rundown.

Reports from PWInsider and BodySlam say he was told to go out there later in the show and cut a shoot promo where he let out real frustrations about TKO interfering in his storyline.

If that’s true, it adds a whole new layer to what he said. He straight up told Pat McAfee, and anyone backing him, to kiss his ass. And with all the talk about TKO pushing McAfee into this storyline, it definitely felt like Cody was taking shots at the higher brass.

"What are going to do? Fire me!? It surely worked out well for you the last time..."

The snake is beginning to eat itself it seems.

I wouldn't buy much of the talk or leaks since the show.

It all seems like a story developed for the unreal series.

A Mania run-through that makes sense and has no backstage 'drama' is not much of a show. But creating some drama gives them something to hand over down the line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,362 ✭✭✭Ridley

I'ma guess it's to give the feud some teeth/buzz since the crowd just isn't rallying around Rhodes as it's supposed to be. Not sure what Orton could actually do to get booed though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,755 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

When he said that line about firing him I just thought he didn't say anything worth firing over and hardly anyone in charge now was involved back then.

And sure is there more of a company man there than Cody?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,357 ✭✭✭NITRO95

On the same week they used Cody to babyface Vince on Raw, the same week more info regarding the Janel Grant case and how much of a sick **** McMahon is, they have a second rate announcer, exNFL punter come on their show, layout their world champion and then tell everyone watching how **** the company and the shows they produce aren't worth your time.

The only difference between 2026 WWE and 2000 WCW is that WCW wasn't named in a sex trafficking lawsuit.

The Miz is just so good his interactions with Danhausen are brilliant put the Miz anywhere on a card and he excels. A real WWE MVP over the last 20 years.
