Considered getting one on special order a while back but performance wise it didn't seem to offer anything that the .270 couldn't do, except if you really wanted to shoot 175gr bullets. Ended up going .270 in the end for the sake of ammo availability.
That being said, if you're happy to order in ammo on special order it would be a very versatile choice. It's a classic European cartridge and lots of really nice vintage rifles out there chambered for it.
What rifle are you considering and what do you anticipate using it for?

Yeah ammo availability here would be a problem.
To expand on the Engineer's post, would a 7x57 or 30-06 enter the mix too, since both also have better ammo availability than the 7x64 but similar performance?

Never forget, the end goal is zero firearms of any type.
