I have my work phone with Virgin Media. I find their coverage to be very scatty which is not ideal, particularly for work.

Who provides the best, most reliable coverage and data in Ireland, particularly if operating a lot of your work from phone calls and emails?

    Vodafone?

    All advice appreciated.

I think it really is location dependent. My work phone is Vodafone and my personal is on GoMo and in my house work phone has 1. bar of coverage and GoMo has full signal. I do think the voice quality on GoMo is better in my part of the country anyways.

I’m Dublin based. I find VM to be really poor at times.

I've been on Eir Mobile / Gomo for over 10 years. Absolutely no complaints. Reliable and reasonably priced.

Keep an eye on Facebook as GoMo have been doing discounted deals for new customers

Eir has the best coverage imo but they are the dearest also

There's not really one network that's the best in every bit of Ireland. So it's a bit of trial and error to see which is best for the places you're visiting. There's three MNOs - Three, Vodafone, eir. Then the rest are MVNOs.

You've tried Virgin which uses Three's RAN so choose one that uses Vodafone or eir next.

eir - GoMo (owned by eir), Lyca Mobile

Vodafone - Clear Mobile (owned by Vodafone), An Post Mobile

Three - 48 Mobile (owned by Three), Virgin Media, Tesco Mobile

and to add all three MNOs may share the same mast but where their antennas are mounted on the mast can affect coverage.

Top of the mast is best but the third set of antennas may have lesser coverage due to the lower height
