Taught we were sloppy enough in first 20 mins. Solid enough performance after that. Caufield and Keoghan were outstanding. Left a good few scores behind today aswell ,Morris could of layed it off a few times.

Great to get promoted and a final to look forward to .

Great win for the U20 hurlers yesterday as well, beating Antrim by 2-21 to 1-17. They'll be at home to Carlow on Saturday in Kilmessan for a chance to reach the Tier 1 group stages with Dublin, Laois and Offaly.

Minor footballers' first championship game is tomorrow against Louth in Skryne at 7:30. Other teams in our group are Laois and Kildare, so a very tough group by the looks of it. Group winner goes straight into the semi finals, runner-up goes into the quarter finals while third place plays in the preliminary quarter final against the winners of the group containing Wexford, Wicklow, Carlow and Kilkenny.

U20 footballers' face off against Carlow in Dr. Cullen Park on Wednesday. The other teams in the group are Laois and Longford with the group winners going straight into the semi finals and runners-up going on to the quarter finals.

Minor game was postponed yesterday due to an unplayable pitch. Talk of it being rescheduled for tomorrow, clashing with the World Cup playoff which is less than ideal.

Comfortable win for the U20s against Carlow, who were very poor. Some great goals scored, second one in particular. Long kickout brilliantly fielded in midfield. Long ball directly into Cian Commons who fielded on the run on the 14m line and finished past the keeper.

Laois at home next where a win would almost certainly guarantee progression into the knockouts. If we win that, it'll be a shootout away to Longford to determine who goes straight into the semi finals. Longford won the 2024 Leinster minor championship and comfortably beat Laois last night.

It was a great goal. McIvor Commons and Harkin look like real good prospects.

agreed on both points! great to see more talent coming up the line. I think we'll beat Laois but Longford will be a tough one…

Commons is unreal if you ask me. The difference he made to Seneschalstown in the SFC when they got him back last year was unreal. I umpired the first round game against the Cilles in Stamullen and he was all over the place, physically well able for the game too, and he is only 20 this year.

Is it just me or does our keeper miss a lot of free kicks?

He scored a peach of a 2 pointer in the first half. N put them over in the league when it mattered.

Midfield excellent in the second half, cracking goal from jack o Connor n great cameo from Conlon. Good to be getting into the habit of winning in croker!

Just you, I think. Brennan has made most of his free kick attempts this season. Today was a blip in a game with an unpredictable, swirling wind.

Great to get the win simply for a bit of silverware. Need to put that behind us and focus on Leinster. Again, mixed the good with the bad today. Midfield drifted in and out. Absolutely dominant for a time, then cleaned out of it. Some brilliant attacking play and then some painfully ponderous stuff. Banty was excellent when he came on and Cork couldn't handle him. Though some of our balls into our full forwards were baffling. High balls way over their heads instead of low balls in front of them. Defence, as has always been the case, was worrying. Both goals were the result of a defender losing his man meaning other players had to try to cover.

Great to finish the job and get some silverware after securing promotion. Have to say, while the atmosphere has been dead in the home games in Croke Park, it was an excellent idea to have them there. 4 games and 4 wins and we're used to winning there come the summer (though the atmosphere will be a bit livlier if we do get games there).

Great to win in a tough game. Taught we were slow enough to get going and cork could of been well ahead at half time. Midfield did great in 2nd half and great work rate from the forwards to keep pressing .

Some goal by o Connor, hope he isn't injured and it was just cramp,he signalled to the bench straight away to come off which is never a good sign. Hopefully menton ok aswell.

Really looking forward to the Championship ,hopefully it's a long year.

Ladies survived in division 1 by the skin of their teeth with a draw against Armagh!

By coincidence, now both the men's and ladies' footballers will be the only Leinster teams in Division 1 in 2027.

it was a bit of a mixed bag from us. We were very slow in that first half, kept making the wrong passes at the wrong times too, I wish they would just take a look up the field abit more, take their time instead of wasting ball and losing possession.. Cork were fast and so much more direct. They have some great big forwards who can score from anywhere, our backs were exposed alot I thought and they missed 2 absolute goal chances, thankfully! they caused us plenty of problems early on…. I couldnt get my head around the wind at all yday! I was in lower cusack nearer the davin end and thought we had the breeze in the 1st half but someone i met at half time down the opposite end said Cork had, so I couldnt decide!

in the second half I think we woke up and played much better. In the 3rd quarter we were so good, every kick out, catches, passes and the scores. we looked strong and the lads had some confidence about them and just used the ball much better. Thought Flynn, Rafferty (overall) Frayne did well enough. Was worried to see a few them picking up knocks but hopefully nothing too serious, and at least we have a decent break now..

So yeah, loads of positives and great to see what we can do when we get going, but still things to tighten up.

Still though, always delighted to get silverware, it was class hearing “Beautiful Meath” blaring out over the speakers again!

U20 hurlers also had an excellent 14 point win against Carlow in the Leinster championship which means we move onto phase 2 of the Leinster championship. We're in the group stage with Dublin, Offaly and Laois.

I know the wind in Croke Park can be a bit swirling, but Sunday seemed especially unpredictable. At one point I noticed the flags on the Hill and the sideline flags blowing in complete opposite directions. Presumably that had a big impact not only on Brennan's frees, but also on the kickouts which both sides messed up on a number of times.

Was surprised that we took the two-pointed free attempt after Conlon scored a one-pointer in the second half. Don't think I've ever seen a team take a free when advantage was played and a point was scored. I know it didn't matter in the end, but could have been a very costly decision.

U20s safely made the knockout stages, comfortably beating Laois by 11 in Ashbourne. Longford away in Clonguish next Wednesday. Longford, as expected, easily accounted for Carlow so it'll be a winner takes all match for top spot.

absolutely re Conlon! TBH I actually didnt know you could do that. I thought once it went over the point stood. with the wind the way it was I was really surprised they went for it…luckily it worked out…
