Right, but Israel will want to use them to expand its territory. They can't expand into Iran.

US will make their move after Easter Thursday close in the hopes of good news / less impulsive reactions before Monday open

Oh goody, a Saudi led middle east would be much more democratic and respectful of human rights.

These fcukin eegits never consider the pandoras box they open when they go on these murder runs.

Trump has no good options now.

The Iranians have gone from controlling a couple of percent of world global oil supply to controlling 20% of it.

Without an amphibious invasion to take Kharg and controll the strait that is going to continue.

He needs to get the enriched uranium also. Without getting that and if it dispersed to proxies and combined with drone technology the west but in particular Israel along with the gulf states are in very serious peril from dirty bombs. Jihadis and nuclear bomb grade material is a really bad combination

The Americans now have less strategic control than they had 2 months ago and in particular 9 months ago.

There's a reason dealing with Iran hasn't lead to a previous war in every American administration since Reagan, but in particular since Iran's nuclear ambitions were obvious since 2000/2002 or so. What we are seeing play out here isn't a surprise to anyone involve in war gaming this over the last few decades either in Iran or USA.

If Trump goes for peace now, Iran isn't going to just open up the Straits without getting something in return. Israel signing up to IAEA inspection might be a carrot but that'll be some sell.

As things stand Trump is politically dead if this continues as it fractures his base. Inflation will do the rest with swing voters.

Iran way Iran comes out of this in a better place.

The only alternative is a full ground invasion which Trump or nobody elses wants.

If IRGC or any Iranian proxies start driving trucks into American malls or shooting up a football game then that will happen anyway.

I'm not sure any of this is bad for the regime leadership. It's a death cult and martyrdom is the only guarantee/short circuit to paradise so taking out lads isn't going to lead to an issue with replacements.

Trump's thinking this would go like Venezuela was a major miscalculation

US media now reporting that intelligence assessments estimate that less than a third of Iran's missile arsenal has been destroyed and that targeting the remaining launchers and stockpiles is becoming increasingly difficult. A far cry from the claims that their capabilities have been completely diminished.

Meanwhile, US treasury yields are surging again. A disaster in the making.

Escalation in Middle East possible in coming days, Polish PM says

‌There are reasons to believe ‌that there could be an escalation in the ‌conflict in the Middle East in the coming days, according to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

"I ‌have reasons to believe, also ‌based on information we've received from our allies, that stabilisation is unlikely in the coming days," he told reporters.

"On the contrary, a new escalation may occur."

I think it will escalate, certainly it's what the Israelis want and still no-one will stand up to them

The criminals in the WH haven’t a clue what they’re doing.

Oil price up again and just shy of $111 per barrel. Since this started, the highest price was $118?

I think Brent peaked at $117, it's now at $110. I feel the market is finally seeing through Trump. That and if Trump tries to take Kharg island, even if successful, they won't be able to ship the oil out through the strait. Meaning less oil on the market. Bunch of headless chickens in the WH playing checkers while Iran are playing chess.

The US administration is demonstrating stunning incompetence and stupidity when it comes to the whole Kharg Island affair. Trump and Hegseth keep saying they will seize Iranian oil by doing so. No they won’t. Kharg Island refines Iranian oil shipped to it from elsewhere. Obviously, the Iranians will just not ship the oil to the island if it is seized. The refinery will become inoperable. Yes this will hurt the Iranians, but ultimately they can just choose to ship their oil elsewhere to be refined – most likely to China at a huge discount to them. Meanwhile the Iranians will start destroying more energy infrastructure across the Middle East, exacerbating the economic crisis.

It genuinely seems that Trump does not realise this fact and thinks that by taking Kharg Island he is seizing Iranian oil deposits. Such absolute stupidity. The bond markets are certainly catching on to this incompetence and they will break this administration.

If the bond markets keep going the way they are then we could see the Federal Reserve having to introduce emergency interest rate hikes as early as next week.

Trump tore up the obama agreement and if he could get half that deal he would say it was the greatest deal ever.

Pity the media would show that deal think they are not allowed to mention it because of hurting his clown ego

So what will he announce just after Wall Street's closing bell today? Usually it's something very negative which causes turmoil, but the markets are already melting down as I type, so it might have to be something very positive to keep the DOW out of official correction territory.

If so it's as likely then that any such announcement will come with enough time before the bell for insiders to sell into the bounce, which means he'll be back with another threatening deadline Sunday evening.

It's not even that.....Iran could have progressed towards being more contained as time went by....the morons in the WH boxed them into a corner and now the regime has to pull what levers they can to survive

Checkers Is a very generous assessment of the WH strategy

Its probably not a great analogy but I think its more like a spoilt child with limited IQ that happens to have superior firepower eating crayons in the playroom and lashing out incoherently and counterproductively at anything they can so they can stay longer in the playroom and avoid consequences

Yep short of a miracle it will definitely escalate now, we up to 65% for US forces to “enter Iran by end of April” on polymarket

Trumps self described aim (hope) when starting this stupid war was a Venezuela style quick toppling of regime without destroying Iran, that obviously failed and put Iranian regime hilariously enough in a better position

    But

That better position is dependent on the sanctions continued to be lifted and the country and especially its power and energy infrastructure NOT being bombed to the stoneage, which is precisely what Trump threatened and i suspect will do, and he would have both Saudis and Israel egging him on because having Iran turned into a bigger Syria / Afghanistan is fine by them especially if everyone too busy fighting each other in a civil war, hard to run a country and continue threatening everyone without electricity and water and Trump has no issues committing war crimes

So in short things will get worse for Iran, much much worse, especially as Saudis are exporting and earning 3-4x more than Iran whose oil infrastructure could be captured or destroyed at any time, while other Gulf states slowly wake up to the conclusion that Iran has to go as otherwise they don’t have a future as states

Just wondering does Trump actually want to create a very significant world economic crisis. Most commentators have ignored, most of, his derogatory comments on the EU and NATO. They write and speak as if Trump actually doesn't mean what he says. They refer to leaders like Rutte and Stubbs as 'Trump Whisperers' and other pathetic titles as if he actually listens to European leaders. What if he does despise NATO and the EU, with our generous social welfare systems and our guarded welcome for migrants. If there is a major economic crisis, Europe, comprised of so many nations with different economic models and without its own energy supplies will suffer enormously imo. The US has plenty of oil and gas and the dollar will become even stronger, if there's major turmoil. What if there's actually method behind his apparent madness.

Its really hard to imagine a more cowardly form of warfare that uses airborne explosives controlled from a safe distance to demolish housing blocks and wipe out all those living inside…

I have to believe that someday Israel/ USA / Russia will be made to pay for their seemingly unending bombing sprees -

All 3 countries are absolutely vile and deserve major comeuppance, but unfortunately the world usually doesn't work like that and it's the innocent who suffer

Don't read any history of warfare, you'll find it too upsetting.

What is going on today is tame compared to what even the Allies did in WW2

A horrific amount of destruction to civilian infrastructure in under a month. Surely a few sanctions must be on the way for the 2 global pariahs and it's enablers, who have also been complicit in a live streamed mass extermination campaign on a city of 2 million Palestinians over the last 30 months with just a shrug of the shoulders.

More than 92,000 civilian units have been damaged across the country due to US-Israeli attacks, according to the Iranian Red Crescent.

The damage to 92,662 civilian units includes 71,356 residential units, 20,399 commercial units, 290 health facilities, and 600 schools.

The war has additionally damaged 17 Red Crescent centres, 46 ambulances and three relief helicopters, the organisation said.

I think its possible they don't want to pay their debts......inflation devalues debt, being in conflict with those you owe or dimishing the consequences they can apply makes it easier to not pay....

The trajectory (the US as a country economically never mind societally) has felt unsustainable for a long time to me....but that is the personal biased assessment of this pessimist so take with a very large grain of salt

Also the thought of that giant moron and the collection of snivelling sycophants he surrounds himself with having some sort of masterplan (that isn't completely retarded overall) is something I find hard to swallow

Irans primary crime seems to be it's refusal to be a mere puppet state to western energy interests, like all the GCC.

I’m on Hood doing routine exercises right now, it’s plenty warm already (though tonight might be chilly). Hood is a heavy armor base, if they go somewhere, it’s significant, but you won’t be flying any major Hood units on a dozen C17s or whatever. It’s either railheads to a ship or a massive fleet of USAF lift capability. There is something going on here which may explain the air traffic to Germany but it’s long-scheduled training (like in the works for nearly two years). No idea if the nature of it is public yet, but on past history, it will be in the media eventually.

Why put sanctions on a country a month ago and label them as terrorists and not do the same to two countries complicit in a genocide for the last two and a half years ?

    Right?

IMHO Iran should immediately handover 20% of its country to nuclear powers, deNazify, hold elections, and reduce their military to nothing while denouncing Islam

Am I doing this right? /s

    🤣
