New internal competition opened yesterday. Anyone any thoughts/experience on the new scoring process?

Ive been having a look at it over the weekend, Im struggling to answer the competencies but when (if) i sit down and concentrate, hopefully i will be inspired and come up with decent responses. I do have staff and I am managing a team of EOs so Im doing what I need to do but its just try get it down on paper. What are your thoughts?

I was off Wednesday so just got the head down and filled in the the application and submitted it. Put a bit more thought into the questions that they are marking and not so much into the others. I know the application will be available to the panel if I did make it to interview but by that stage I'd hope to have batter examples prepared for all capabilities

Submitted my app. off yesterday - tried my best with the capabilities and that’s all we all can do! :)

Now the waiting game begins.
Looking back on my HEO app. when I applied it was then 6 days later I heard something back about progressing to the next stages. This was 3 ish years ago so hopefully it’s a same quick enough time frame.

I’m currently an EO and have applied for the recent AP competition. In the last HEO competition I was OOM 1 for my county but unfortunately wasn’t called to interview as no positions arose.

I’m just wondering if anyone has a sense of how many people typically apply for internal AP competitions, and what the progression to interview/panel tends to look like?

Also does anyone know if a presentation will be required at interview like previous competitions?

it depends what county you choose

look at all the DSP options in the county you’re choosing - Dublin would have the biggest so therefore, more AP options most likely

I see in the candidate booklet it’s just shortlisting and straight to interview, nothing in the interview section about a presentation so I reckon we’re all clear on that one :)

As there is no aptitude tests involved im assuming we could be waiting a few months before the initial short listing from the application forms is complete?

I just looked back at the timeline for the last internal competition I did (heo 2023) My video answer to the 2 questions asked was submitted 09/11 and the results were out on 24/01. Slightly different for this comp as the answers are written but a similar timeframe for results would bring us into May

we were called to do our videos 6 days later after submission I’m sure so hopefully that means something for this one

Yes, application submission to invite to video was very quick but there was no application shortlisting in that competition. The shortlisting in this competition is nearly the same as the videos going to the panels to be marked, as in instead of watching our videos this time they are marking the 2 capabilities from our applications. Is gonna take weeks.
