Parking outside my house

Correct it's a public road so unfortunately nothing you can do, as long as the cars are taxed, insured, and NCT'd they are entitled to park there for as long as they like.

I do feel there should be some legislation about work vans parked in residential estates though (when obviously not carrying out work) . In my opinion if you can't park them off road (your driveway) they should be left at work …I know the counter argument is "well then I'd have to drive to work to collect the van before I can actually start my days work etc" .... however thats a pure case of your problem becoming everyone else's problem.

We've a few parked vans , not on my actual road but in the area, they make the road much narrower, impact visibility and for some strange reason the main offenders are all parked on T junctions which is an offence in itself

A van, that's wide, tall and panels on all sides....at least with a parked car you can see through it to a certain degree.

No one has any right to dictate who parks outside their house on a public road

You should always park on a junction when you're doing a job - they can't clamp you because you're causing an obstruction (double yellow is the same) - they have to get the Gardai and then a tow truck. You'd be very unlucky to be done - wouldn't do it on the corner of a main road though.

People can also be decent humans and not park outside someone else’s house. Not something I’d ever do
