Have NR and VR out of the way. As someone else mentioned, the NR felt too easy.

VR was a bit trickier. I had plenty of time and went back through them after but got stuck on the final two. I just about had time to choose an answer for all them.

@weekend2014 no your right. No next button only submit. I thought I was submitting part A didn’t realise A and B had to be typed in the same box. It was no problem to get it sorted though

If all the questions and the scenarios are the very same for everyone then I'd imagine it's pretty easy to "cheat". I'm not gonna suggest as to how this can be done so I'll leave it to your own imagination.

A number of people have asked about the qualifying score for numerical.

One place it is mentioned is here, not sure if it's up to date etc:

    https://www.quickstart360.co.uk/runtesteo.aspx

"EO Numerical Reasoning - Your performance

There were 36 questions in all, and you attempted X.

You scored X correct out of a possible maximum of 36.

The typical level of performance required to pass this self assessment test is 8 questions correct."

With 2 minutes to go and you've a few questions left, with no negative marking, you're best off guessing the remaining answers.

They aren’t the same for everyone. You’re also being recorded, you have to enter full screen mode, if you leave it the assessment it stops. You can’t copy and paste bar the written assessment using there own function. You’re the second person who mentions cheating, good luck with it!

I am currently in CS and failed the numerical 3 times before finally passing it in the 2024 comp - placed in top 50 and wasnt even called for interview. So whomever is saying only 9 to pass does not know for fact its all hearsay.

Currently top 5 after interview in internal EO and barely scraped the numerical in the internal comp last year. Still waiting to be placed.

I got a C in ordinary maths for the Leaving in 2007 and haven't been bothered with numbers since.

I have a degree in journalism and a masters in translation. I've worked in both areas and even published a book.

That said, the maths was FAR easier than the verbal reasoning (linguistic comprehension) one.

All done, did them yesterday evening in 1 go. Don't know if it was the right thing in the end. The writing ended up being my best one. Vr just couldn't see the answers or understand the statements, nr I thought would be my best but hell no l, brain just shutdown. Never skipped in practice but I skipped a few. Sj nope. Honestly it was my own fault just went blank. Didn't think I was panick but something happened 🤔. At least I have the experience this time so all good😁. Just hopefully the tac eo moves along so there will be some hope of getting in somewhere. 😃 best of luck everyone.

All done now, done the email query but felt the question itself was a bit crap, not much to work with which is reflected in my email reply, it wasn't great but the 2nd part I had a lot of info.

I'm the same. I only have a Chromebook and was going to do the assessments over the weekend.

Has anyone tried completing it on a Chromebook and if so, what happened?

Any information on the written assessment , what does it consist of

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 99 ✭✭Glitteringstar

Read the familiarisation at the start, it tells you everything

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,339 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

Mine was an email complaint, task 1 is to write a reply between 100 and 300 words, read the email a few times, take notes and use it for your reply, look out for things like delayed responce or the CO giving poor info etc reply using sympathy and apologise for the delay, the assessment gives you an idea of what to do.

Task 2 is explaining what you done and why, again between 100-300 words.

There is probably a few different variants of the assessment so that was mine.

DO NOT CLICK SUBMIT FOR TASK 2! Use the same box then submit when done.

All done, I just finished the written test. I thought 40 mins would be too long for that but in the end I was still reading for typos when the time was up. Not sure I wrote enough for the second part of that task but time will tell. Glad it's all done and out of my hands now!
