Stanley oil range- strong smell of kerosene

The smell around the house is strong, have called the service guy but any idea what could cause this? It's strange as it's not there all the time, but when it does smell it's very bad.

I'd isolate it at the tank as a priority. The last thing you want is a few hundred liters into the foundation.
