I believe from having some inside knowledge that Peter Mark are finally moving out of zombie city and into Oakville

Yes they are, good for them to get away from Market Place. Just before Covid Dunnes Oakville had planning permission up for a cafe - pity they didn’t follow up with that - is definitely needed there.

Kennys centra in fethard posted that they got their last delivery from them today so I guess it is true unfortunately. Are/were there many people working there?

I'd love a cafe in Oakville. I think it's really missing one there.

Speaking of cafes, we had an horrible experience in Esquires in Tesco recently. We've often gone to the one in the Poppyfields and I really like that one.

Sad to say the Tesco one doesn't seem to be run to the same standard. Second visit, first was average but we said early days, give them a chance. Ordered a toasted sandwich and a chicken burger and chips. My sandwich came out, barely toasted, and basically thrown together. Told a few mins for the burger. It never arrived. I'd had almost finished mine and my OH enquired to be told a minute more. I finished mine and I went to enquire again to be informed that the person in the kitchen preparing the food had gone on break. The girl we were dealing with was downright rude and TBH has no place dealing with the public. She asked me did I expect people to work all day with no break. Not the response I was expecting. I asked for my money back and we said we'll never use it again.

It's a shame, but I'd rather spend my hard earned money in a better run establishment.

Good to know. And I'm not as big a fan of Esquire's as some.

Just to point out that the Tesco restaurant does have the benefit of Robert Ballagh paintings on the wall, originally painted for the Ormonde Hotel I believe and then displayed in the museum for some years.

What good are paintings if you're hungry? You go to an art gallery or a museum if you want to look at paintings.

No cheapo pound-shop stuff, even at 50% off, is worth getting into the scrum that will happen tomorrow.

I see Camida have applied for changing if use planning permission for the old church on Anglesea Street.

Apparently they're looking for permission to use it as a restaurant.

Clonmel definitely needs a good restaurant.

I'll have to take your word for it, as I haven't been there in year's. I must take a trip there again based on your recommendation.

No harm in having some other restaurants to go to as well.

I have to second Befani's, hadn't been for years but twice in the last 6 months I've had a really good meal there. Really tasty tapas and a great selection to choose from.

I loved Befani’s but unfortunately they no longer open at lunchtime. Good food though.

We called in here for a look. My OH spotted a few things in the DIY section that he reckoned had been massively inflated price wise. So when you paid the half price, you actually ended up paying more than you would have a week before.

    That's what he thought anyway.

I switched to pure telecom last year 500mb service for 35pm and I'm happy with them. Based on the Cashel road.

I see that Fennessy's Hotel is up for sale. If you have 700k you can snap up an "exceptional boutique hotel"
