Foreign stations on the internet

I am wondering is there somewhere on the Internet to listen to foreign stations.

My first idea was to look up BBC Radio 4 ,which is a wonderful resource in itself -and that was successful-but when I tried out other stations (MSNBC in Americaf or example) some artificial voice tells me it is "not available in your country"

Any suggestions ? Are there apps or websites that allow one to pick out radio stations from around the world?

(I know some can be got on FTA with the satellite but my reception is down at the moment)

Find a software defined radio that's within reception range of what you what to listen to? if it's an actual broadcast station

    I'm partial to your abracadabra

I've just clicked on Boston's NPR station WGBH and the stream started no problem.

I used to listen to US radio regularly, mainly stations from the city I lived in over there.

Initially at the turn of the century they were readily available to live stream, but then they stopped because of legal issues with royalties.

They restarted again in the later in 2000s once those issues were cleared up but since GDPR came in in 2018 a good few of the websites, and thus the live streams are no longer available.

Basically the websites don't adhear to EU cookie policy and thus are not available.

But many are available on podcasts.

I used to listen to a sports talk station that I now just listen to the podcast which goes up less than an hour after the original broadcast time.

Yeah US stations aren’t freely available on TuneIn etc here for rights issues I think.

I use this website to listen to my favourite station from when I lived there:

I use an app called Radio Garden. It has good variety, although stations tend to come and go at random. It has both traditional radio stations and online ones only.

Upcoming gigs and events: Dry Cleaning, The Shawshank Redemption, Sprints, These Charming Men, Sasha Velour, Disorder Festival, David Byrne, The Cure, Garbage, Bob The Drag Queen, Sigur Ros, Olafur Arnalds, Cabaret Voltaire, Angine de Poitrine, Cardinals

Pretty damn amazing.Exactly what I was hoping to find.Just the one radio station featured for the whole of Greenland,I notice.

Would be nice if they could incorporate live translation into the product!!
