Those graphics have always been ahead to the pictures on latency for years.

It would be harder to fake than just use the actual data.

watching that live, I thought, well that's just going to give the driver behind with the Overtake mode active a handy pass during the races. There'll be a lot of passing, which is not legitimate overtaking. I suspect the types will not be put under a lot of stress either and will last about 10-20% longer on each stint.

The onboards paint a sad picture, you can see that the drivers can't or won't attack the corners now, they are using the entry phase to get the battery charged.

This is all about the fastest car in a straight line, and the one who can charge better, I think this can be a highlights weekend for me.

    Woeful start from Kimi.

    Eh what happened to Max.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 11,556 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Only took Russell six laps to get back into the lead for good. Race over.

Not a total waste getting up this early, Crofty just reminded me it’s Mother’s Day tomorrow. 😂

    Oh hello, safety car!

Jesus hurry up and remove the car so we can get racing again. Amateurs.

    Few hours kip before quali.

That wasn't a bad race. Lawson seemed to be best of the rest outside of Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren. Did well to overtake Gasly, Bearman and Hadjar on track, not that we got to see any of it.

Max does seem to have some pace, so we'll see what happens with quali and the race.

Again, I'm struggling to get my ahead around the overtaking. It seems to mostly be driven by relative amounts of charge in the battery as opposed to driver skill.

George Russell is showing his quality in the best car. I think Antonelli needs to sharpen up or this will be his last season in Mercedes. Far too error prone even accounting for his age.

Don't think the sprint was really worth getting up for but no surprise there with sprint races. Good to see Hamilton back fighting at the front but I'm still struggling to get behind them hyping up the battery during an overtake. Antonelli really needs to get himself together with the silly mistakes. Can't see anything better than a P5 for Verstappen in the race

Correct, it wasn’t worth getting up for and you’re right @Appletart Upsetter, there’s zero skill in overtaking now - it’s all about having enough battery. The start of that sprint race with Lewis and Russell swapping places wasn’t exciting at all because you know just how fake it is. The safety car made it closer than it was. Hard tyre the best race tyre with all the graining, but nobody is catching Russell.
Oh and good morning all again. 😁

You'd wonder if Sainz is regretting not going with Audi over Williams

Cracking lap from Max there but man that car looks a right handful. Lindblad did great too.

Maybe it's just my tinfoil hat but are they showing less of the onboard graphics and if they do show them they cut to a different shot before the end of the straight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,079 ✭✭✭TheRona

Yeah, and they freeze the graphics at the max speed even if they stay on board. Lots of shenanigans going on.

Less driver radio being broadcast too.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 11,556 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Oh please god let that be Russell out.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 11,556 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Ah crap. Lol at the crowd cheering. Car sounds broken.

I'll be surprised if they get that Mercedes out in time to do a qualifying lap.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,696 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

Looks like F1 has gone back to the hoping somebody other than Mercedes wins every week era.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,681 ✭✭✭A2LUE42

And yet they did. Front row.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 11,556 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Lewis defo liking these cars more than the previous, still fancy Leclerc to finish ahead of him tomorrow but fair play.
Dear lord Red Bull, out qualified by an Alpine, ouch. Well done Kimi but he got lucky there with Russell’s problems.

Whoop! Whoop! Gasly qualifying 7th. Very nice.

it feels like F1 has lost its soul with these regs. I know its benefitting some drivers and teams, but I dont believe even they think these regs are reflects the DNA of F1. All this just to get Audi onboard.
