“Just how dumb are the Americans?”

    They elected him- twice. Very.

I think the US consumer probably got a shock with the spike at the gas pump, and their wallets know that when the Iranians say they're happy to drive it to $200 a barrel they mean it.

So effectively Trump's Israeli inspired war has given the Iranian leverage over the wallets of US consumers.

I won't be surprised if Trump starts mutterings about false intel, and without saying it directly that he was misled into attacking Iran by Israel.

However if once he latches onto attacking Cuba Iran will be forgotten about, even if Iran continues to hit US protected puppet states in the gulf.

I expect that once the true extent of the fraud and insider trading comes to light, it will be utterly utterly breathtaking

Trump now looks so weak and pathetic to the Iranians. They have him over a proverbial barrel now.

His attempts to 'explain' or 'justify' his demented attacks on a sovereign country (during negotiations) are falling flat.

Clearly he got too excited by the "12 Day War™", and has now screwed up by day 11 of the second.

There's no way he can attack Cuba after this fiasco, and with wars deeply unpopular in the US, and what would the justification be for that war, when he hasn't even been able to justify the war he is currently in, which hasn't even been declared formally.

He needs to be impeached immediately.

They're not dumb. They're selfish. America is a country of individuals (they love their individual freedoms, they don't do well with any sort of socialism/society or anything like that) and for a portion of them they just look at their own specific circumstance. Sure their neighbours might be worse off, sure their family might stop talking to them - but if their major political position is protected (be it abortion, tax, etc) then they see that as an acceptable price to pay.

It's gross, but that's how it is.

The advantage of being an 80 year old president is that you can feign dementia quite easily and avoid any serious consequences of insider dealing - his friends however, might not get away quite so easily

Didn't they have an organisation to root out fraud and waste 🤔

They might make up a new one for him… the Nobel Appease Prize.

I think you've answered your question about justification for attacking Cuba. It's all just personal glory for him, and another war of mass distraction to deflect from Epstein and undermining the midterms.

I can't see him facing justice in the USA, a third of adult voters would still elect them even if they caught him molesting their grandkids. It doesn't make sense, it didn't make sense when the audio clip of "grab them by the pussy" became public, it didn't make sense when he was convicted for sexual assault, they still elected him.

I'm old enough to remember plenty of normal Irish people saying that clerical sex abuse victims were just making it up. We had P Flynn saying Mary Robinson was selfish for running for president when her duty as a mother was more important.

A third of US voters used their democratic right to elevate a convicted sex offender to the highest office. They're as likely to support him being made dictator.

He probably sees Cuba as a relatively easy win. Close to the mainland US, troops already on the island in Guantanamo, likely minimum resistance to re-taking Havana. Possibly thinks that the populace will support him, because after all his support is high amongst the Cubans in Florida.

All of which would be a complete misread of the situation, but in-depth analysis is not their thing. So I expect Cuba to be Aprils big adventure.

He will not admit that he got something wrong. He might say that Hegseth or someone lied to him and they will be thrown under the bus but in no way will he put himself forward to accept the consequences of his actions.

Sky News is reporting that the Kremlin war criminal has offered to mediate in the US war on Iran. Honestly, every single American should feel deeply embarrassed at this point.

Trump was talking about "unconditional surrender" a few days ago and meatheads were lapping it up… didn't last long. The US is being used by Israel and Russia to do their bidding.

Trump's presidency is a daily humiliation for Americans.

Make America great again working out well alright.

Btw - Shawn McCreesh is the journalist (NYT) who asked this question properly of Trump yesterday

"You just suggested that Iran got its hands on a Tomahawk and bombed its own elementary school on the first day of the war,” McCreesh said. “But you’re the only person in your government saying this. Even your defense secretary wouldn’t say that when he was asked, standing over your shoulder on your plane on Saturday. Why are you the only person saying this?”

If only the rest of the press grew a pair and put questions to him in this way...

I've said it before, but if you told Maga that they were going to be kicked in the balls every morning they'd be happy as long as you told them the "others" were getting TWO kicks in the balls at the same time.

He's a bit stuck now as, unlike Venezuela, he no longer has complete control of the narrative.

The Iran conflict is unpopular at home, hasn't been as clean as he'd like - American deaths, hitting a school, massive jump in oil prices - so like Venezuela he's trying to declare massive victory and move on.

Unlike Venezuela, he's got Israel quite happy to keep things going, and drag America in with them. Its not like Trump can say, 'not our war now, just Israel's. We won our bit, leave us alone'

Also Iran are saying we've no intention of talking to you. You attacked us, killed our leader and people; and our only viable way to respond is to slowly squeeze oil supply and hit you financially. If we stop now, we've barely hurt you for all the damage you've done. We're OK to keep Hormuz shut.

That's why Trump is threatening 20 times more destruction and fire if you keep Hormuz closed, its bluster to get them to stop hitting his weak point. Oil dropped a lot yesterday on rumours Trump would say things are over, if nothing actually changes on the ground, it'll go back up. And meanwhile Israel are quite happy to keep stoking the fire as Trump is tied to them.

His attention span has hit limit, his popularity is dropping but he can't just take his ball and go home this time.

“Because I just don’t know enough about it,” Trump replied, interrupting the reporter again. “I think it’s something that I was told is under investigation, but Tomahawks are used by others, as you know.”

Narrator - no dear reader, they were not in this case

He does need to be removed before he goes and does something even worse than starting a war with Iran.

I would take his threats seriously of raining down "death and fire" in a giant tantrum (…and he was talking about Iran and its population generally there I believe, not just the Iranian regime) if this fun little war jaunt with Bibi doesn't work out how he wants in the end.

The last year has made me pessimistic however.

The people in power in the US right now (not just Trump but his awful appointees and those using him to further their own agendas) have no intention of going anywhere and no intention of ever being answerable to anyone for their actions, any more than likes of Putin does.

Why does Chatgptzero say it is highly confident that was AI generated?

I tested it a few days ago and it said then it was likely human (but with some small AI input ,I think)

Now ,as I say it says it is 100% AI.

If you were to give that passage to an AI generator ,could it give a "rebuttal" that was equally "convincing"?

Have we crossed the Rubicon and outsourced our critical faculties to computer software?

Hegseth is especially creepy when he starts quoting "scripture". Someone should tell him Jesus was a Palestinian (if he existed 😉)

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?
