I'm stuck

    I'm stuck.

I have been out of work for the past year, health reasons. I'm actually really enjoying the break from it.

Had surgery, yet the symptoms are coming back. But even beyond that, my sleep cycle does not work with the clock driven world. I've had many jobs (software developer), and fired from them all, through lack of dependable showing up :(

My beautiful partner, of 17 years, is a foreign country. No intimacy.

I love life, my life, and do not want to end it.

Therapy has been no good. I am on Lexapro.

    But, I'm stuck.

I'm not looking for advice, not looking for fixes, I don't even know why I am posting this right now, but yeah. My boards.ie friends, this is who I am :(

Smoke a blunt and watch some family guy or something man , just try and relax.

But in all seriousness talk to close family or friends , boards won't help .

I hope that at least the actions of writing your current predicament and setting it adrift in the ether can bring you some bits of peace.
I know in situations where I've found myself similarly afflicted, that doing so, particularly here on boards has been a help to me.

Regarding your health, can I ask was the initial surgery successful?
If so, can an additional procedure or follow up add any possibility of further improvement?

Wishing you the very best with it and in getting back on top of it.

Given that I assume you are in pain of some description. You need to find something to take your mind off things. Be it painting, music, animals, even light exercise if you can’t do full workouts, or breathing exercises etc . Anything to get you to relax.

Seeing that you are a software developer I thought teaching coding to young kids - in person or even by online videos could be something you could do? Something to give you a bit of focus.
And children have a way of cheering people up because of their natural enthusiasm for life. Seeing the world as a much less complicated place.

As another poster said you might be better off contacting medical professionals. But from a practical point of view , at least find something that brings a smile to your face.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Good to hear you love life, despite all the nonsense going on in the world, it’s full of good things.
As someone mentioned, smoke a J, listen to some of your favourite tunes and get out for a good walk. Maybe look at doing some voluntary work, helping others can be a great help to us too.
    Take care of yourself.

I’m not sure Js or whatever are helpful for getting unstuck.

OP I don’t know if this is helpful or not but I was stuck once for over a year. Spent most of it in bed. In my case once I got past the main cause I was able to start moving forwards again. For me anyway a routine is key. If you could find one that would work with your body clock.

    I'm sorry, people. I'm OK.

Too much alcohol, too many emotions. My father is going to die.

    I'm OK.
