A Greta type will be on now, telling us to spend the guts of 100k to switch over to a heat pump.

You can forget about The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission doing anything for the consumer. They're a useless quango.

Caller: I went into the fuel shop and asked them what the price of the oil was.

Lad in shop: Same price as the last time you were here Paddy.

Caller: I thought it might have gone up because of the bombing in Iran.

Lad in shop:Hmmm actually Paddy I just noticed, it's gone up by 20% because of the bombing in Iran.

It's a pity that the Irish oil companies didn't have the inside scoop on the bombings coming on Friday, before the word got out, so they could have given their loyal customers a text on Thursday night.

You hear some dumb, dumb stuff on LL.

"The government are doing nothing about it".

I'm usually the last person to defend the government, but in fairness, the bombing started on saturday and it's now lunchtime on Monday. What do you expect them to do?

Another thing, the first caller was going to top up the tank by 300 litres. Now, assuming there are 2 months in the year when heating is not needed, but the heating is on for the other 300 days of the year, he uses a litre of fuel per day to heat his home. Is it just me who thinks thats an insane amount?

all these show offs ringing in to explain how they got the oil at the cheaper price are not helping Orla here at all

Kieran how much is an ad on RTE during the Toy Show and how much is an ad during a repeat of The Bill?

It was well know there was going to be action in the Middle East. The Americans have been moving aircraft and ships to the area for the last few weeks.

There will be people emptying these fuel tanks when people fill them up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,324 ✭✭✭✭LambshankRedemption

Yeah its a pity that all these price savvy callers with their finger on the pulse of global geopolitical affairs, didn't see the largest naval flotilla in the gulf since the start of the gulf war didn't put 2 and 2 together 3 weeks ago.

John, you are on a great line from Dubai.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 16,107 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

Yes, but do you think the Irish oil companies should have known before anyone else - including world governments - when it was happening, so they could send a handy head's up message to their loyal customers first, like the caller suggested?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,118 ✭✭✭✭zell12

how many times was the host called 'Joe' today?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,324 ✭✭✭✭LambshankRedemption

Next we'll have Finbar calling from Sligo with his Kssssh…. dodgy line - form Sligo.

I was just thinking, will we soon have John O'Shea on the adbreak, "on the ground in Tehran with Goal" with a beautifully clear line.

I hereby open the monthly meeting of the Token Regional Area Voluntary Loss-of-fuel Retrieval society(TRAVLRS) meeting. I see from the notes that the Murphy's in Loughshinna are getting a fuel delivery of 300 litres on Tuesday, does anyone want to go and visit the Murphy's on Tuesday night?

    "you do feel safe here"

Fighter jets overhead, missile defense system in full use, some missiles getting through the net…

Their idea of safe is somewhat different to mine

I for one am outraged that after giving the Pentagon the go order, DJT didn't immediately ring Corrib Oil to tell them what he was doing so they could update their customers.

Kieran: Whats it like there in Jordan?

Caller: Well the phone line quality is as bad as if I was living in Cloughjordan, so there's that hardship to deal with.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,118 ✭✭✭✭zell12

All this whinging about fossiled fuel, and not a peep about climate change
