@gifted so sorry for your loss, hang in there as the loss of a pet is a major kick in the balls.

I'm sorry, it really is losing a family member - sending positive waves in your direction for the rest of the year.

@gifted they break your heart when they go. 11 is a good age. I hope you're all ok.

@cj maxx I wish you patience and some pain relief soon.

Had a run in with some stranger this morning over a nothing burger. Not going into details but I'm a bit rattled to be honest.

And Donald Trump can't just **** sit still for 5 minutes without creating more long term chaos.

Funnily a young doctor said it was up to" me about staying or getting home , but thinking about it I couldn't handle pain without the " good stuff " which they only give in here rather than give it home with me

And that's my Nespresso machine down and out as well, just what I needed… 🤬

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

My machine is five years old and both out of warranty and out of production…

Gonna get a new one on Wednesday, should be able to get one at a good price. It’ll be instant coffee until then… 🫥

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Depending on which Instant coffee you go for, some of them are quite decent if you like strong coffee with a nice flavour.(It also helps if you put three spoons of it in your mug😉) Or so I'm told 🤫

Oh I don’t have a problem with instant coffee, so long as I get my fix 😁 It’s more of an annoyance than anything else really, plus the fact that my machine and my phone decided to throw in the towel within a few days of each other…

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Non-coffee drinker myself. Only the very rare decaff but I have a cup of tea most mornings. Caffiene makes me very wired, jittery and anxious.

My OH is big tea drinker (up to 10 cups per day) and also likes the occasional Nescafe Azera which he says is very good for an instant coffee.

Sofaside at this very late hour in my dressing gown and PJs, sleep has been all over the place since Friday as I ended up sleeping for most of yesterday (Saturday) and only got up at 10pm. OH being very understanding and supportive.

Feeling low, demotivated and also anxious about the post-surgery eye test on Tuesday next. Also have a good bit of catching up to do with work after my sick leave but I cannot stress over this as I've enough to worry about.

Keep your mind on recovery and lean on OH as needed - you'll fly the test - I've no doubt you are a model patient when it comes to instructions

@smurfjed I hope you and yours are doing ok, it's frightening to think how sideways things have gone basically overnight in your neck of the woods, stay safe..

I've 10,000 posts in almost 5 years. That's pretty insane. Boards is the only time I post anything on the Internet. I started during covid, and I've some truly soul destroying problems to deal with, so it's become somewhere to offload and connect.

Definitely could be worse, drugs, alcohol etc etc.

Or even worse: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok...🤬

But it's seriously a lot of time. Think I'll just stick to this thread now and get back to life, back to reality. 🎵

    Checks reality ... 🙄😭

Thanks for the message but its far away from me, at home with BLUE but not posting pictures for a few days to allow gifted to grieve.

    White Rabbits.

Lashing rain and very windy all day here..I actually love listening to it when I can stay inside with my dressing gown on and nothing urgent to do.

Another new month lads, hopefully it's a good one for us all..so much going on in our own lives and around the world at the moment..I think we all need some rest and a break from it all, it's stressful.

Many years ago, did every household in Ireland receive those Iodine tablets, or were they something else?

We did Mam, I kept them in my desk in work as I thought it’s most likely where I’d be when the apocalypse happened, but eventually threw them away as they has expired.

Homeside, just after getting back from the city and meeting a friend over tea. Absolutely lashing down over here…

I think it was iodine tablets. It was before my time over here, but I remember hearing about it on TV, the story actually made news in Germany.

Our own preparations were always more “hands-on”, with many houses having fully furnished basements, often with an integrated garage accessible from the inside, front doors, and at least one basement door, separated from the living areas by a small cloak room and second door so it could act as an “air lock”, and several months worth of canned food in the basement. Regular air raid drills in 1st and 2nd grade as well. I was hoping we’d be past that at this point…

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Not exactly true, but not false either ...

Edit ... Might be 0.0002% true.

I got some iodine to put on an infected toenail and still have some left. It didn't work, but some thing else did (loceryl if anyone is interested).

Anyway, we've got iodine to protect us from ww3.🙄

Used iodine tincture liberally on cuts in our neck of the woods - stung like all hell and stained like creosote
