So trump has started the war on Iran?

For him personally its about distraction, epstein files.

For rest of us ... are we back to terrorist attacks world wide? Will this one completely spiral out of control?

It could be a plus for Ukraine via Iran supply of shaheed drones to putin might dry up?

    Who knows ...

And this tweet from trump, note the date

Earlier in this and parallel thread {why both haven’t been merged is a mystery} there were attempt that tried to distract, downplay and deflect from any discussion of the Iranian regime killing and wounding thousands of Iranian protestors again just a few weeks ago

Even tho it has been widely reported upon right across all mainstream professional media

Even resorting to quoting fringe conspiracy theory websites funded by the Iranian regime like Grayzone

It’s not hard to condemn both Americans/Israelis and Iranian/Russian regimes, it’s the right thing to do, but some view these complicated current affairs issues as some sort of team sport, where they endup defending the indefensible on a public forum undoing all their own arguments

Sure? Actions have consequences is a fairly basic principal.

Understanding that isn't an endorsement of said consequences or the action that sparked them.

If Israel is found guilty of the most serious war crimes in The Hague that's fine with me.

The US destroying the Iranian leadership is also fine with me.

These threads are becoming an impossible place to discuss things because the default position seems to be if you're not condemning Israel every single post, or have the audacity to point out impartial facts or context (like military reality for example), you're treated like you're a rabid us flag waving Zionist.

It's not a discussion. A few posters want an echo chamber.

I said there hasn’t been much support for the regime. Can you show me where people are actively supporting it?

Some people will downplay stuff and it’s wrong, we’re in agreement there.

We’re also in agreement that condemnation of all sides is apt in this situation, including Israel who we’ve been told repeatedly by posters had nothing to do with these talks.
Yet, An Israeli defence official said the operation had been planned for months in coordination with Washington, and that the launch date was decided weeks ago.

Nothing good will come from this for anyone bar maybe DJT who will deflect away from Epstein for another while.

Trump was directly involved in an attempt to assassinate Putin only very recently. Are you guys just losing track of all your nonsense narratives?

You think Trump, or the American people give a flying f*** about the Epstein thing? It's part of the culture over there.

A very good question. As far as I know Russian and Chinese navy are down in the strait of hormuz holding exercises with Iran navy. What could go wrong

You're arguing with yourself and inventing things I never said.

I never said it was about liberating Iran. I said the people of Iran deserve to be rid of the regime.

    They are different things entirely.

I'm sure you would agree that the people of Belarus deserve better than Lukashenko or the people of North Korea better than Kim Jong.

Doesn't mean you support either being invaded.

I also said Iran is also reaping what it sowed over recent decades. That's simply an observation. It doesn't endorse the actions of those delivering it.

You could say the same about Israel. Is saying October 10th was Israel experiencing the consequences of it's actions and policies an impartial observation or is it explicit support and justification?

You're asking me to have the balls to acknowledge I'm justifying and supporting attack on Iran simply because your thinking is so incredibly biased, that anyone not on "your side" is on "theirs".

    It's not good faith discussion.

Keeping an eye on social media about this US/Israel war against Iran.

In previous such events my feeds would be wall to wall posts about such an event. This time not so. Relatively quiet, surprisingly.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

“Several things can be true at once.”

Worth re-quoting this post every few pages - it commonly happens on “war” and “political” threads unfortunately.

Whilst I would like to see an end to Iran as a tyrannical regime and those Iranian people who are resisting the regime should be freed from it , as usual, the Trump administration are heading there for it’s own purpose - it’s not a noble gesture - they won’t care if they topple the current leaders and they’re replaced with leaders equally brutal to their own people - they just want whatever objectives they have, met. And then they’ll spin it as a victory.
I guess it’s just another distraction from their home economy and with the elections approaching, they need to roll out the America first b0ll0x and get the dumb sheep citizens all teary eyed for so called democracy and Christian values and heros in the military.

Pass the sick bucket when you’re done please 🤪

Yes I did and no you didn't.

How is liberating Iran different from the people of Iran deserve to be free of the regime.

    Like I'm 5 please.

Anyway back to the original point. I'm still not seeing anything other than justification for what's happened to day. Israel launched an illegal strike and your response is, well the Iranian regime sort of had it coming. What else is that?

Sure here calling for 9/11 level of attacks which I pointed out would result in decades of more misery for Middle East

Here deflecting from my point that Iranian regime want a world where rules and laws don’t matter and might is right and now that is backfiring

Here downplaying Iranian regimes supplies of drones and missiles to Russia for their war of colonial conquest

here denying Iran is in alliance with Russia

    here deflecting with wild whataboutery

here downplaying the murder of protesters

on this page trying to push a conspiracy theory Grayzone publication with funding ties to Assad, Iran and Russia whom downplayed reports in media like Guardian about the deaths in Iran

    I rest my case

There is a consistent pattern of deflecting, denying and downplaying of crimes the Iranian regime has committed not only against its own people but by helping their allies war of colonial conquest

with attempts to blame US and Israel for everything, both deserve plenty of blame for Middle East being on fire, and Trumps regime is full of turdicles who are pouring oil on the fire but that sure as hell doesn’t make the Iranian regime whose own population wants gone as the “good guys”

    Alright.

If you think the people of Afghanistan deserve better than the Taliban.

But you are totally against another US sponsored or directly led invasion.

I know you're only five, but on careful reflection you should be able to understand they are not contradictory.

Ursula is concerned given her latest tweet. Imagine if it was Greenland these two global pariah's were bombing in an illegal, unprovoked act of aggression ? Incredible double standards really.

""But but Israel". Don't give a **** about Israel. The Iranian regime getting pulverized and deposed is good for everyone, and literally the people of Iran deserve it."

    Your original quote..

OK apologies I wasn't under the impression that you condemned the Israeli attack this morning. I mean I TOTALLY picked that up wrong... unless of course your position is just..... inconsistent..

I shed no tears for the Iranian regime but it is particularly grotesque to suggest you will aid protestors, sit idly by while the regime murders 30,000 of them and then a few weeks later start airstrikes.

It is like they do everything possible to inflict as much suffering as possible.

    Iran will be getting hammered.

The wild proclamations of Iran actually being able to stand up to both US and Israeli air power will be shown to be a fantasy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,085 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

Again that isn’t support for the regime.

Would you say the same about those who deflect from the genocide that Israel is conducting? Constant deflection and downplaying, does this mean all those posters are supporting Israel’s regime?

No one has said that Irans regime are “good guys” that’s your interpretation.

We’re in agreement that there’s not a good vs bad going on here, that’s far too simplistic a view to take. All 3 parties involved are to blame, no good will come from this.

Denying and deflecting and downplaying reports across media that there were 30,000+ deaths of protesters to begin with is in the same league of grotesqueness

Turns out the MAGA far right and the conspiracy theory peddling far left are two checks of same bloodthirsty ar**hole
