Yup. Need to start a gofundme for a hit on him.

Sumptuous finish by Sesko. His strike rate per 90 isn’t bad at all.

Could be an important point yet.

Ah, it's not a bad point at all, away to a well drilled side playing for their PL survival and as usual stepping up massively against us.

What on earth is going on at TNT. Just when it looked like they had a faultless production for once…

Amad was no worse than a lot of them tonight. Just a bad night at the office, but great to rescue a point.

WH are a horrible shower to play against. Hopefully they get relagated

Also the criticism Yoro gets in here is crazy. He's 20 years old FFS. Can anyone name a better CH at the same age

    That's a good point.

West Ham probably just deserved the 3 points based on the defensive effort and our lackluster first half.

Hopefully any talk of haircuts is just put to bed now and we can work towards champions league next season over the next few weeks

Once I saw United doing the back passing from attack back past midfield again.....I stopped watching... Seriously they can't move on till they get a general on that field…

worrying there was no plan b when plan a wasnt working.

    and very lethargic in general.

I think if it wasn't for the hair lad we be more pleased.

Look it was a poor performance, but we nicked something. I wasn't expecting 13 or more good performances so was expecting couple of these like tonight.

13 from 15 is decent. West Ham are going give Spurs and Forest a few nervy weeks I reckon.

Sesko goal was a piece of magic. Honestly I feel its already underrated goal. A beauty.

Sesko has a languid kinda berba vibe about him

One thing I noticed tonight that is probably a directive from Carrick. Everyone was applauding attempted passes forward even if well off the mark, acknowledging the intent and encouraging rather than disparaging their teammates.

We have been pretty poor for bitching and moaning at misplaced passes and it's pretty toxic for team as a whole.

The lesson learned (and it's been an issue for years) is that we don't have good enough attacking full backs to help create width and attacking threat against low blocks.

Shaw absolutely coasted through the game, sideways or backwards passes all through the second half. He only made one run in behind in that second half. His display won't jump out for criticism but he is nowhere near good enough going forward.

Amad doesn't offer enough width on the right against low blocks.

Dalot is being used deeper to protect against the counter but he's useless wherever he plays. Decision making ability of a turnip.

All that said, happy to escape with a point. Superb finish by Sesko.

Nearly everyone off the pace tonight. Hindsight is 20/20 but it may have been worth rotating a few players who started on Saturday.

4 wins and a draw is a great return for Carrick. We all would have took that before Christmas. Good break now for all the players, let's hope everyone comes back fit and raring to go. Been disappointed by Amad since he returned from Afcon. I think the rest will do him good. The other thing I really want to see is Maz get a run in the team and keep Dalot on the bench.

Everyone was a yard off it tonight, tippy tappy crap between MF and defense, our final balls were dirt all night and the corners were abysmal. It was a typical performance from a Nuno team and it's Carricks first misstep. Hopefully he'll learn from it.

Cas looked particularly leggy and id hope that calls for him to be offered an extension will now cease.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,577 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

Agree with that and bring Maz in for Dalot while reversing the roles of the full backs. Let Maz get forward and let Shaw sit back deeper.

He obviously took the chat with Berbatov to heart 😆

Team had a bad game. It happens. Everyone was off it. But, thats a huge point. Nicking points when youre off it shows mentality. Delicious finish from Sesko. 5 in 6 games. Needs to be starting now. I like getting him gradual minutes instead of fcuking a young striker in to have all that pressure like we've done before. But he's shown now, over the last few games its time to unleash him.

I bet West Ham get walloped by Bournemouth next. Anyhews, all things considered, it hasn’t been a bad run. Reality check delivered, and I’m still hoping we can scrape a top-five finish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,079 ✭✭✭Robson99

Dalot put in a lot better shift than Shaw. Bar one effort in FH Dalot kept Somerville quiet. Shaw just paced himself through the game and it was his schoolboy **** up that cost us the goal

carrick needs to be brave enough to twist. is refusing to change the team for 5 games running a good thing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 624 ✭✭✭GolfPar

Neither of them can put in a decent cross which is what is needed in a game like tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,577 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

Really frustrated with Shaw's performance, cowardly performance... Very similar to his performance in that awful game against Everton.

Dalot is a trier but he's nowhere near good enough imo, ballooned a couple of balls into the box at key times. We've been generally moving the ball a lot crisper and quicker later and Dalot has stood out in the wrong way, he's just not up to it.

Amad had a very poor game... Lucky for dalot and fernandes in particular who were terrible. .. fernandes once again v bad in possession.

It's not the end of the world to reward people with playing time after wins, id say we will see changes going forward now, sesko probably starts next, maybe see mazraoui come in too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,080 ✭✭✭✭Zeek12

Its a reminder we don’t have the squad to compete as well as we’d like, when there are 2 games in 3 or 4 days.

We looked leggy in midfield tonight. One game a week most of the season has been a blessing in some respects.

A reminder for Carrick too that consistency is another word for predictability and can be a weakness. Will be interesting to see his approach and selection next time.

But all in all it’s a decent point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 625 ✭✭✭kyleman

It was probably a decent point.
Looking back on the comments almost every player has come in for criticism and to be fair hard to say anyone had their top game except the 2 subs, Yoro and Sesko.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 970 ✭✭✭ollkiller

Yes its a brilliant thing. Side wins 4 games in a row you never change it. Give Sesko more minutes now. Only change id make. And more of Maz actually. Yoro was class when he came on too.
