Curtis next up at right back, Gomez didn't even make the bench today

    Champions League is likely gone.

We still cannot sustain our football on the front foot, as Slot still has absolutely no idea how to plug the midfield gaps while playing the way he wants to play.

And it's been like this since last March, need i remind everyone.

We just lost, from in front, to a City team that is a shadow of what it was. Pretty unacceptable in a season full of unacceptable management.

That's the first Premier League game all season that City have won after being behind btw, they hadn't even had a draw before tonight. They had gone behind in 5 games this season and lost all 5.

For the squad available, the return the coaches are getting from them is nothing short of disgraceful.

I think the damage done is permanent to Slot. Its longer than a blip. Its similar issues again and again.

If the hierarchy want to give him more time, it's only delaying the inevitable. Maybe they suffer from the same lack of leadership that is clearly running through the playing side.

Still on pace for 59 points this season.

Across our last 38 games (that includes the final 15 from last season) we have 63 points.

    Agreed.

This manager has no idea how to turn it around. If we leave him stagger on into next season we're absolutely fucked.

Even spurs got a draw at home against this lot, only a week a go

He has to go you can't be losing that game at home from the position we were in

I switched off the TV. Someone tell me what's Slot excuse this time. He can't use unlucky again.

I know I'm typecast now as hating Slot, but we didn’t start playing until 35 minutes.

We then played fine second half without, as usual, forcing the keeper to do anything extraordinary.

    We score.

    Then capitualate.

Our standards our slipping, and we're barely noticing.

Macca doesnt have the legs for his role, Gakpo kills every attack just resets.

At this stage we have to go for an interim manager - we are 2 pts ahead of Everton -

Not only delaying the inevitable, but missing out on one of the most sought after managers in the world, who already has a connection with the club.

Actually thought we’d win today for some reason. Hard to take. But many poor performances from players who’ve done well recently although we have had a pretty nice run of fixtures.

Who is the one of the most sought out managers in the world?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,190 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

We had a truly shocking run of 6 defeats in 7, then we started playing poor teams and eked out a couple wins and a bunch of draws. Very little progress was shown on the pitch but it was "at least we're not losing anymore." Well that spell of steady results and talk of "steadying the ship" has amounted to very little, and we're back to losing ways.

Salah needs to take his fair portion of blame. He is not giving Slot a chance, a hugely diminished player.

it seems very often the worst thing we can do is take the lead because what follows is completely stop playing and sit deep inviting trouble , sh!t the bed at break neck speed, concede two goals and then whip off a defender (sometimes multiple defenders) and throw on a few more attackers (even stuck our keeper up top this time) and say a prayer that we might rescue a draw from a game we were winning.

It’s alarming mis-management. To be apparently left competing with brentford for 6th place sums it up.

If Alonso is the pick get him in now. The season is a write off, give him the rest of it to start shaping what he wants.

A lot of these players are heading to the World Cup so any new manager will have little time before a new season.

Individual mistakes cost us. Shame. We were pushing them in second half, deserved to lead.

Wirtz tame pass attempt to score was sad.

Even that is bizarre. Slot working out that Mo needed to be dropped, dropped him, Mo cried, reinstated him, Mo continues to play terribly but not dropped.

What sort of weak, terrible messaging is that?

United have now gained 8 points on us in the 5 games since sacking Amorim

Chelsea have now gained 7 points on us in the 6 games since sacking Maresca

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,317 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    He is a problem.

But at the same time, when we're on the front foot, bar Wirtz, he's our most creative player.

He's AN issue. Not THE issue.

Why did City pull Gakpo out of way of SObo freekick. Helps us hugely, and he seemed happy about it, weird

Who else plays instead of Salah?

First time I'm genuinely concerned of missing Top 5 now . United in particular and Chelsea have really pushed on with new appointments and we are battling Everton and Brentford more now than CL.

A season like this missing CL , again losing another high profile player on a free with a manager only the rivals fans want to stay is looking so bleak Vs last season. Hard to attract players to the utter shitshow this is becoming.

How we were 1-0 up going into 85th today and somehow lost the game with red card to boot is staggering . That's cheslea, Leeds, Palace, City , Bournemouth and Fulham now where we have thrown away point right at the end. I've lost all faith in Slot and can't actually listen to Brednan Rodgers like excuses in press conferences anymore. Sunderland away next - it's hard to see more than a draw
