on the radar looks like just a small band. Sun already poking through here in Ashbourne.

look like more bits of showers breaking out behind it. The winter that keeps on giving lol

I thought today was supposed to be mostly dry. But it's been very showery here near Gorey most of the morning and now looks like it's going to be wet for another hour or 2 according to the radar. I cant wait for some spring weather!!!

best day of the year so far in Kilkenny. Really opened up lovely and escaping the showers. Lots of people out and about with a taste of spring

8am radio news today, first item - 'very wet and very cold weather coming this week'. Is it just a slow news day?

I've been working outside all afternoon in Longford. Great weather for it and even a bit of heat to be felt in the sunshine, thanks to the lack of any wind.

2 long lingering showers in Dublin ruined the day.

Eh not in Dublin, another awful day. We got about one hour of sunshine, raining all rest of day.

Cold and wet for most of the day since at least 11 am in Celbridge. Some heavy showers interspersed with drizzle. A bit of blue sky now.

Lovely day. Nice to have the extra light.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Beautiful day here in Castlebar. Great to see the evenings getting longer :)

Was ok in North County Dublin today. Got out between the showers. Cleaning up the winter junk from the side and power washed all the slimy grime on the concrete.

Beautiful starry night. Jupiter almost straight above near Orion.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

What are the long term models showing for Dublin? When will the rain subside?

Also anyone have total rainfall mm for Phoenix park in February so far?

another wet day in Meath, not heavy but enough to keep the standing water going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,330 ✭✭✭adocholiday

The models are showing a continuation of the wet spell for Dublin, with a tapering off after this week for a few days but GFS has more rain the following week with ECM being more settled.

In terms of February rainfall here are Met Eireann's stats up to the 7th of February for Phoenix Park. We're already within a couple of mm of the LTA for February, and if we get another 40mm as forecast by ECM then we're on course for a very wet February.

Strange days when rainfall in first 8 days of February for Mace Head (Galway) is 4.9mm whereas Phoenix Park is 54.5mm.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Another horrible day out there. Just as well had a reprieve for some brightness over the weekend in the West.

    WET and miserable 8° Meath

Nearly afraid to say it but a grand bright day again in Kerry, 11.9C, breeze with passing cloud and blue sky, some overnight rain and brief light shower going to work but dry apart from that.

Overcast with showers and miserable in Dublin 15. Another similar day again.

Late to reply, but yes, it's a fantastic city, one of my favourites for sure. Their climate is nearly ideal for me. Their winters are seasonable but intermittent, I think it would be boring to have snow for months on end. Their summers are very sunny too, with an average July there having nearly the same sunshine as May 2025 in Ireland, and a mean maximum of nearly 24 °C. Significantly drier than here too, of course.

I’ve only been in winter time but good to hear about their summers. Definitely a city I will return to in the not too distant future.

Two things that might happen after this winter:

    1) The Rushes and Turlough's will start appearing in fields in the East

    2) When they're doing the river Shannon pipeline to supply water to the East, they can put a two way valve on the pipe so water can be pumped back.

another wet day in cork city, heavy dark cloud. When the west is wet, we get the rain, and when the east is wet, we also get the rain 🥲 never ending!

200.5 mm in Jan, and 42.4mm for the first 9 days of Feb!
