26th day and counting without seeing temperatures in double figures imby and only 2 days since Dec 22nd. Impressive in one way but frustrating in another that like most I haven't seen a single snowflake yet this winter.

Not surprised I was only saying earlier in week how cold it is realtively especially when rain usually means a bit milder weather.

Still damp and dreary here in NCD today but only a small amount of rain.

I'm now sick and on antibotics for first time in years, looks like I'm not the only one, a lot of people's immune system low and current spell of weather not helping!

A dry morning and early afternoon here in my part of north Dublin today after four days of near continuous rain, back to drizzle from around 3pm though with a few heavier spells in the evening

Get well soon appledrop, you'll need to be in full health for building a snowman ⛄️ and snowball fights with the kiddies by the end of the week 😀

Very foggy from Crusheen in Clare to Oranmore when I was on the Expressway bus.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

I'm a little over 5km from Mostrim (Edgeworthstown) right now and it's currently about 24° warmer than that night!

Late night weather just now saying cold and dry end of next week with some frost and wintery showers

today was meant to be dry but about 4 hours of light rain and drizzle today, even last weekend was meant to be dry and there was some showers or drizzle/mist on both days. The last day where it probably didn't rain here in Meath was the opening days of January when we had clear blue skies and frost at night for most of the first week and then we went into the current pattern. It's been a long month.

It is meant to be dry….between the showers! 😁

    Showers imminent in Greystones.

😂😂I wish, the now 4 year old still hasn't seen snow yet!

I think your better off just expecting rain everyday and be thankfully when it's only 'drizzle' rather than lashing. It's defintely rained for about 25+ days in row in Dublin.

It's an awful shame because I love this time of year normally with start of longer days/evenings.

We would usually always have had a trip to Zoo & beach at this stage and my phone keeps sending me throw backs to everything we usually do but no so far this year!

My Met Eireann app tells me it is not goin to rain, however band of showers seems to be approaching from the Wicklow Mountains moving slowly north.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,873 ✭✭✭pureza

well it’s affecting the areas worst affected by flooding with more to come tomorrow night with the spectacle of Keith Leonard saying weekend respite on the advice of met Eireann, sure what would they know?

if we can’t forecast this rain properly the day before what hope have the snow chasers in the FI thread

Have you not literally as opposed to figuratively chased the snow yet yourself Pureza or does your globetrotting only extend between the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn!? 😉😉

    5am forecast seems bang on

Scattered showers will move northwards across the country today. They will be most frequent and sometimes heavy in the south and east. After a cloudy and misty start with patches of fog, some sunny spells will develop later. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees with light south to southeast or variable winds.

I’ve been to Everest base camp

There ain’t much more dedication for snow than that 😂😂

    Rain has arrived in Bray.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,871 ✭✭✭appledrop

The forecast for Dublin is not correct, mainly cloudy and dry at first this morning(eh no light rain) my 'local' forecast is even worse with sunshine all morning predicted.

Whatever you having yourself, maybe whoever is doing local forecast for NCD is tucked up in their bed but I suggest they look out those mad windows in Glasnevin and update their forecast.

pissing down in D14. Can’t hack this much longer

Rain/shower cleared Greystones now and sun coming out. 2.2mm from that. Good thing today is no wind!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,871 ✭✭✭appledrop

I can see it cleared now for you but unfortutaely here in Dublin on rain radar looks like we are stuck under it for day. My 'local' Met Eireann forecast is still telling me less than 5% chance of rain up to 1pm while it lashes and shows on their rain radar. Dopes.

If it's the forecast graphics people are looking at I find they often get misinterpreted

Those graphic forecasts showing percentage chances of rain

Foggy since dawn near Ardagh, Longford. It's thinning a bit bit and it's flat calm. Good weather for working outdoors.
