And rightly so. He should put the interests of Ireland first.

Trump is a committed racist, always has been. It’s one of his few genuine beliefs. I would be very sceptical that a staffer would take the risk of posting something as disgraceful as that about a former president and his wife.

"I don't understand the hate for ICE, I think protests are important and should be respected but ICE are deporting criminals and illegals"

    This is a blatant lie.

"The five-year-old, who was born in Ecuador, and Mr Conejo Arias came to the US legally as asylum applicants."

A Canadian consulate opens in Greenland.

A new Canadian Consulate in Greenland's capital of Nuuk officially opened on Friday in front of an Inuit delegation from Canada, who brought a stern message for U.S. President Donald Trump: "Back off."

Those were the words of Susie-Ann Kudluk, vice-president of the Qarjuit Youth Council representing Inuit between the ages of 15 to 35 in Nunavik — the Inuit region in northern Quebec.

"We want to come together in solidarity with Greenland to show our support and to say: That land is not for sale," said Kudluk.

She was one of more than 60 delegates who travelled from Montreal to Nuuk on an Air Inuit charter organized by the Makivvik Corporation, the legal representative of Inuit in Nunavik, to stand with Greenland in the face of Trump's threats.

Canada’s Governor-General Mary Simon is an Inuk or Inuit (Eskimo).

Canada will officially open the new consulate in Greenland this week, a move Governor-General Mary Simon says reinforces Canada’s long-standing commitment to Arctic cooperation, even as geopolitical tensions ripple across the region.

It’s very significant because we’ve had a long-standing relationship with Denmark and Greenland, Simon said in an interview on Tuesday in Tromsø, Norway

Canada stands firmly behind Denmark and Greenland, she said. Another country should not interfere in a sovereign state.

…Simon, an Inuk originally from Nunavik in northern Quebec, said the trip also has personal significance for her, reflecting decades of work building Inuit cooperation across the circumpolar north.

We have families that share their relatives in the Canadian Arctic as well as Greenland, she said.

To me that’s an important part of our geopolitics—that our people-to-people ties with Greenland and the Canadian Inuit is very strong.

He has to do it. It’s ugly, potentially humiliating, but he has to. After all he’s been through with his own party he’s a good fella to send for that sort of task. Highly resilient. I’ve spent a lifetime loathing FF but I like him.

They are barely trained at all and clearly unfit for the job they are doing at the moment. That role may change. As a personal militia for Trump they could fit the bill nicely.

Looks like America is determined to protect all abusers in the released files even those sending pictures of 11 year olds to Epstein by redacting the sender name on the grounds of national security.

A lot of Trumpsters ‘don’t understand’ various things. Maybe they should look these things up?

Row with the Polish Parliament Speaker, Wlodzimierz Czarzasty, a member of the Left Party, a junior party in the Centrist Coalition with the Civic Alliance and the PSL2050 alliance. Follows the Speaker saying that Trump "did not deserve" the Nobel Peace Prize. The US Ambassador has now cut ties with Czarasty.

I can get behind he joked or someone joked about posting it and was posted by mistake

Please explain, in your own words, where the joke is in depicting black people as apes

    Calls Trump clever.

Doesn't have a problem with Trump being racist, so long as it's in private.

Doesn't have a problem with Trump's squad murdering people.

That's quite a lot of bullsh1t to fit in one post!

Are you sure you don't want to edit it, go for one more and perhaps say that Epstein is misunderstood?

Elect a clown... Expect a circus

10+ years of Trump interpreters and apologists and they call us deranged. Pathetic.

I don't recall this as a thing with Obama. But, tbf, he's way smarter than Trump, multiples of how much the dog in the street is smarter than Trump.

I wonder if the Trump fans sit through his speeches in their entirety. Might be the worst public speaker ever, certainly the worst to be POTUS. Garbled, poor style, always sniffing, never mind the 'style' that is meandering from topic to topic back to himself on every issue. You can really tell when he reads from a teleprompter, too, yet another thing he's never mastered.

They are ill-trained racist paramilitary goons given guns and a carte blanche by the republican government to do what they like, deliberately sent into opposition party areas to cause disruption through their unlawful actions.

Micheal telling us we still have a warm relationship with America?

Do FF really think this? All the Irish being deported? 'A warm relationship?'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,210 ✭✭✭✭Timberrrrrrrr

For those claiming Trump didn't post this pure racist video and that it was an unnamed"staffer"here he is admitting that no one other than Dan Scavino and himself have access to his truth account.

With the American People - yes we do. The current government is a different matter.

Anyway I believe Martin should go and use the meeting to promote Irish interests eg advocating for the undocumented Irish.

So it's ok if it's just that he didn't mean to show people he's a pig ignorant racist? (Not that there was much doubt in the first place.)

Back to the low level staffer blame game!

    President Donald Trump

"refused to apologize Friday after posting and then deleting a racist video depicting former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as apes in a jungle, insisting he hadn’t seen the final frames containing the offensive content and blaming a staffer for the mistake. "

What a POTUS should sound like when speaking:

'OBAMA: “People make excuses for him. They say he’s not serious. Everything a president says is serious!”'

Martin has to go and to some extent, bend the knee. I would love it if in the middle of the Oval office he smashed the bowl on the floor, told Trump what we're all thinking and march out, but he can't. It's the reality of being a prime minister, president etc in a world where POTUS is still the most powerful man in the world.

I imagine when all the current world leaders step down from politics and write their memoirs, there'll be a chapter in all of them titled "The Trump Years" where they'll give a true account of their dealings with the man child. Should be good reading too.

Not only is Trump in the files I think what Starmer said the other day about embarrassing a 3rd country besides the UK and US if mandelsons documents were released is a big reason why they aren't prosecuting ANYONE.

We know Ghislaines father was Mossad and we know she was likely a Mossad asset, Epstein probably was one too.

Now I wonder who that 3rd country might be....

Maxwell was also accused of being an MI6 and KGB asset.

I DO NOT BELIEVE. That it was ‘ a slip of the tongue tongue’ by Trump or his alegedly involved staff re the Obama issue.
    Why do I say this?

    (1) It’s not the first time that he has ‘a go ‘at Obama - and all/most of them being ‘ under the belt’.
He has form on this - there are loads of precidences. The current one is no different

    (2) Was it unintentional?
well, imagine the highest office in the land - and within that office there is a department with ONE INDIVIDUAL AT THE TOP - and of the most powerful country in the world with a large number of very serious issues , both international and domestic, to grapple with on a daily basis and the OFFICE found TIME to ‘DOODLE SOMETHING’ on the OBAMAS.

Had the perpretator/s not something more important to occupy his/her/their mind/s?

(3)/ I assume that Trump’s Truth Social media platform is very tightly controlled since he uses it to ‘pump out ‘ his ‘daily utterances’ . And I assume that he would be extremely careful as to who he would allow to post on it - in case they usurped /contradicted him. I would therefor conclude that whoever posted the Obama lampoons not only had permission to post on the site but have time to doodle and this would have been a very senior staff member or Trump himself

So for the above THREE reasons IMO the posting was VERY INTENTIONAL

    BUT BUT BUT TACO,

When Trump found out that there was very significant push back - including from within his own party he said that. ‘ someone made an error’ and the post was taken down within 12 hours.

The only reason that it was taken down , IMO, was that , if left up, it might not look good with the MID TERM elections coming up.

    Trump 100% posted that.

It was posted at a time he frequently personally posts and if it was a staffer, they'd have released a name and said they had been disciplined by now.

But hey, it's 24 hrs where the focus wasn't on the Epstein files, so there's that.

What an assh*le. Imagine using supporting a president who uses his own racism to deflect from his sexual abuse inclinations.

    Horrible, disgusting individual.

I said in 2016 I was vehemently against him because of how he would lower the tone of the office. I've am ten yr streak of being correct in that respect.

You’d think if you were banned and had a second account you’d at least use a different avatar.

Shows the level of intelligence of Trump supporters.

Not a hope Trump didn’t post that and that he didn’t find it hilarious either.

Surely 72 crystal bowls is enough for any house whatever it colour. 1953-2025 is a lot of crystal.
Why not change from shamrock to something he’d really appreciate - a take away bucket of handmade chocolates or McDonald’s fries - all dipped in edible gold.

( if edible gold is too pricey then paint will do. He doesn’t know the difference)

    https://triblive.com/local/salvadoran-family-in-brentwood-in-the-dark-as-father-languishes-in-ice-custody/

A man was detained by ICE in the Pittsburgh suburbs and nobody knows where he is or if he’s even alive.

Gomez Escalante, 35, of Brentwood in the South Hills, emigrated with his family from El Salvador to seek asylum in 2021 and has approached the process legally, according to Mackin, 36, of South Park. He and his family have Social Security numbers and valid work permits that don’t expire until 2030, according to documents provided by the family.

Garcia de Gomez said she was able to regain contact with her husband two days after his detainment.

After talking with Gomez Escalante, Garcia de Gomez learned her husband had presented his work permit card to the four ICE agents outside the district court, whom he said were wearing plainclothes.

“They snapped it in half and threw it away,” Mackin said.
