PAC's belly to belly on Darby to the steps made me wince.

MJF defended the title at an Indy event and announced his challenger Alex Price and Jordan Oliver are now All Elite supposedly two of the best Indy workers out there.

This adds for to the twitter talk that AEW will be letting a lot of talent go when their contacts expire this year

Jordan Oliver is great in a modern fast paced tag team but I've never seen him as a singles guy, Him and Nick Wayne had a fantastic run in GCW.

Alex price seems like a guy who googled "what do Indy fans like" and copied an AI formula, I've seen nothing that makes me think he'll be a star.

Have worked with Jordan on some of our shows and he's the absolute nicest dude ever and put's in insane amounts of work. We could have the ring up at the venue at 1pm and he'd be in it the entire time practicing and doing drills until just before doors. Glad to see it paying off for him especially after the tough year he had with the injury.

Trey Miguel released from AEW, apparently taking a break from wrestling

WON reported that the decision was made from "up above" and wasn't Tony's call. Who's above Tony? WBD? What a weird situation. How on earth could someone like Trey Miguel set off someone's radar like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 235 ✭✭CajunSurprise

I wonder is it like when WDB blocked the Briscoes from being on TV because of comments Jay had made in the past.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 16,361 Mod ✭✭✭✭Furious-Red

Statement from Trey, seems like it was something he has said in the past. Personally I do laugh when people bring up the "person of faith" or "preach" etc when something goes wrong

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 235 ✭✭CajunSurprise

I guess he posted something on social media.

    Words have consequences.

He's said some dodgy things in the past on social media including homophobic and anti-semetic things is my understanding. Seems like it's very much a Briscoes situation.

I hope Myron, Wentz and Dezmond continue to vouch for him because jesus christ, he's been left holding his dick after what I imagine must have been a long discussed move they agreed to do together.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,354 ✭✭✭NITRO95

Why would the three of them, new to a company, after signing the biggest contracts of their careers and with very little political capital continue to push for a guy that WBD said no to? If they do that they won't be long in following Trey back to TNA or MLW.

    Ciampa is All Elite.

I just saw he is only 40 the guy looks genuinely 10 years older. A really good signing for AEW/ROH I’d say both for in ring and backstage.

How unlucky for Jake Doyle he tore his bicep in the match last night against FTR.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 555 ✭✭✭Petermc83

every NXT guy who Tony has signed has failed in AEW.. hopefully Ciampa stays injury free and has a good run.

His NXT run as champion was brilliant.. He was wasted on the main card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 235 ✭✭CajunSurprise

Samoa Joe, Swerve and FTR have done alright and most of the women signed have done well. Yeah but in general most hasn’t done well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,354 ✭✭✭NITRO95

Gimme the list of "NXT guys" who Tony has signed that haven't done well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 555 ✭✭✭Petermc83

Keith Lee , Aleister Black , Kyle O Reilly, Bobby Fish, Andrade (twice), Adam Cole has been unlucky with injuries so probably cant blame AEW, but maybe the AEW wrestling style of matches.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 16,361 Mod ✭✭✭✭Furious-Red

Aleister Black seemed to be a lot his own doing, bobby fish imo was never going to go far out of UE(never felt he was that interesting outside of the group), Andrade is only back in the company so you can't really judge when he just beat one of AEW's biggest star Swerve, Cole had one of the biggest storylines in AEW with MJF before getting injured, followed by a serious injury last summer. Keith Lee has been side-lined with a medical issue for the majority of his AEW term, KOR was doing entertaining work with the conglomeration before his injury.

Let's tackle these one by one just for the craic

Keith Lee - Was a Tag Team Champion, in some incredible matches as part of SIOG, refused to do a job and put over Swerve and has since been sidelined with health issues

Mal Black - LOL that geek got his own way more than anyone else on your list. Out of interest what's he doing right now with Uncle Paul booking him? But sure Tony fumbled etc etc

Kyle O'Reilly - sidelined for over a year with a serious neck issue. Since being fit to return has been a main player in the main face unit, The Conglomeration, and before being injured again beat Jon Moxley clean twice and was getting the biggest push of his life

Bobby Fish - 50 year old career tag guy who got in a fight with CM Punk, what exactly was missed by not pushing the guy?

Andrade - was used well in his first run, even went over Danielson just before he left. Returned and attacked Kenny Omega, then missed months because of some WWE bullshit, and returned and just pinned Swerve on tv. What more do you want to see him achieve?

Adam Cole - HEADLINED THE BIGGEST SHOW OF ALL TIME. WTF is he doing on this list? As for your AEW style comment, LOL how many ladder matches and WarGames did Cole do in NXT? He's been in AEW for four years, the majority of which he's either been injured or used as a top guy. Absolutely laughable including him here

no need to be all defensive over the product guys, i am trying to say that TK shouldnt need to sign all these nxt guys to try and get his brand over.. just build up his own superstars.

im neither pro WWE or anti AEW, just a wrestling fan

I would actually add Sacha Banks to the list too.. no need to throw money at her, the womens division was doing just fine before she arrived.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,354 ✭✭✭NITRO95

Nobody is being defensive. I'm pointing out the flaws in your argument. If AEW never signed anyone that ever signed to WWE then guess what, they'd have very few wrestlers available. WWE had a monopoly for 2 decades and signed just about everyone at some point.

Tony has built his own stars. MJF, Hangman, Swerve, Darby Allin, Britt Baker, Toni Storm, Mariah May (remember her). To say Tony hasn't built any of his own "stars" is just wrong.

Mercedes was signed because 1) she's the biggest female star in NA and 2) she's the best female wrestler in NA. To say AEW women's division didn't need Mercedes totally misses the point of having someone like Mercedes on the roster. To use the same logic, WWE don't need Rhea Ripley because they are doing fine without her as champion right now. Nobody in their right mind would suggest that

    Uncle Paul 🤣🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 235 ✭✭CajunSurprise

That was a fantastic episode of Dynamite made Brody King look like a monster the fans have wanted forever and the 6/7 guys chasing the world title look like they could all be World Champions.

Lots going on in the midcard as well everyone on the show looks like a star whatever position they have on the roster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 235 ✭✭CajunSurprise

AEW getting a lot of main stream news and media attention today in the States after last night main event “Fcuk Ice” chants from the crowd. AEW let the chants air and Max didn’t edit them out of the on demand episode either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,713 ✭✭✭The White Wolf

How do you qualify those statements about Mercedes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,354 ✭✭✭NITRO95

The statement is pretty self explanatory....there's no hidden meaning. She's was the biggest star, it's debatable now, and she's absolutely the best, most consistent female wrestler in North American history. Nobody comes close to her for work done in NA

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 555 ✭✭✭Petermc83

Thats your opinion and your perfectly entitled to you.. but i tend to disagree..

At the height of The Man fame , Beckie Lynch was by far the biggest star womens wrestling has ever had. Banks has never garnered the stardom of that reign in my eyes. As a wrestler, Banks is really good.. but Flair & Lynch arent too far behind her in ability.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,713 ✭✭✭The White Wolf

For me it's Bayley, Charlotte, Mercedes and Lynch in that order in terms of in ring. They're all fantastic however at that aspect so there's no real shade there.

In terms of their overall footprint on the wider sphere of popularity, all you have to do is Google which women have the biggest followers on social media. Mercedes isn't even in the top conversation. Bayley, Charlotte and Becky are however.

To be fair if you are going by social media The Bella’s are the best in the world since they have the most followers.

As an individual Ronda Rousey has more than all of them and I would not have any of those 3 in top 50 female wrestlers in the world.

Mone’s 6 1/2 million Instagram followers is more than any active WWE female wrestler has on that platform. Bar the Bella’s if you consider them full time active wrestler who also is part of the real entertainment world dating other real celebrities
