Politifact says it is not genuine

    https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2025/jan/29/instagram-posts/no-this-isnt-an-authentic-x-post-from-eric-trump-a/

Who makes up these false posts? Is it "agents provocateurs" - to give a talking point to "infamy, infamy they've all got it in for me"

(Kenneth Williams ,I think ...he would probably have supported Trump,at a guess)

Trump has just threatened 100% Tariff on Canada if they do a trade deal with China.

    Next TACO on the way!

Estimated Annual Unauthorized Inflows by Year:

    2022
    - 1.5–2.0 million

    2023
    - 2.0–2.5 million

    2024
    - 1.8–2.2 million

    2025
    - 800,000–1.2 million

70–80% of inflows are border crossers (mostly southern border). 20–30% are visa overstays.

Trump doing a better job at stopping illegals coming in. They're not pushing this sanctuary agenda where everyone is welcome in. Let's see how 2026 plays.

The Canadians called out the possibility of their needing an independent nuclear deterrent very early in Trump 2, March 2025 article below.

Around the time of that article, France offered to extend its nuclear umbrella to the rest of EU.
I posted the following on the death of non-proliferation.

Since then, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have entered into a mutual defence pact which is believed to extend the Pakistani nuclear umbrella to Saudi Arabia.
A pact that Turkiye is now believed to be soon joining.

Within Europe, Poland has floated the possibility of going nuclear.

The threshold nuclear states worldwide, and those states that operate nuclear weapons sharing via US supplied weapons must all now be seriously considering their options too.

Non-Proliferation has been killed by this absolutely lunatic implementation of the new US national defence strategy…

It is a document whose only certain outcome?
Is increased uncertainty and immensely increased risk.
Risk that medium powers can only offset via going nuclear or banding with another country that already has and doing so to the detriment of existing security structures.

Just bullies . Hope they eventually get their comeuppance.

“Well, that's OK, that's what you should be doing. I mean, it's a good thing for him to sign a trade deal. If you can get a deal with China, you should do that, right?”

    -Trump, 7 days ago

He’s such a sensitive little itch. Only because Carney criticised him at Davos .

Trump's draft-dodging is one of the only things I respect about him. It is morally right

He didn't do it for moral reasons. He did it because he was a coward that had enough money to buy a 4F.

    That isn't worth any respect.

It could be propaganda agents or it could be good old fashioned grifters. The internet is monetised and some people will do anything for clicks (money).

    https://www.irishtimes.com/business/2026/01/23/americans-are-carrying-the-bulk-of-the-tariff-burden-designed-to-boost-domestic-us-economy/

Turns out tariffs are not a great idea for reviving domestic US manufacturing. Who would have thought it, apart from economically ignorant morons?

96% of tariffs are passed on into the US domestic market. There was no decrease in prices by exporters trading with the US.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

    1. The "we have nukes" argument works both ways, as does "why don't you pick on someone your own size". Russians aren't any more suicidal than we are. Now we're at the point of "we can do anything we want because we have nukes, you are to too afraid of MAD to stop us". Missing the "mutual" in MAD, the whole point of it is that it's supposed to be terrifying to everyone.
    2. I certainly never used such a statement. The bear was poking on its own without provocation. It is foolish to poke a bear, but it is equally foolish to wander around the back woods of Alaska without a bear-capable rifle to shoot one if required.
    3. The US knew how far they were prepared to go. It was announcing from the rooftops that a conventional invasion on multiple fronts was imminent, and was sufficiently strong that many thought Ukraine would not last a week. A review of the Ukrainian thread on Boards from back then would be instructive. You will find my own posts from early 2022 to be more hawkish than you may be giving me credit. As for "how capable they were" you won't find many in the US miltary who felt that the US wasn't capable of dealing with the Russian military. I further suspect that even if the US miltary opinion was overstated, the Russian military would not have been in a hurry to test the hypothesis. To that point, and to address another earlier question, were I Biden I certainly would have maintained the ambiguity on whether the US miltary would have gotten involved, and I would have asked the Ukrainians if they were interested in hosting a brigade or two for exercises. That alone may have been the difference between "invasion" and "no invasion", and it wouldn't have required Republican assent.
    4. In any case, there was no notable opposition to Ukraine cooperation in 2021 or early 2022. You will note the crash deliveries of easily delivered weapons such as Javelin and Stinger which saw little objection. The trouble began after the invasion when Rand Paul in May 2022 stated insisting on financial accountability. But even then, the passage of the bill which had overwhelming bipartisan support was guaranteed.

We may all be experts in hindsight, but that doesn't mean that some of us weren't right at the time.

The fact that Trump is relentless in pursuing people and countries that oppose him, could easily derail the Western economic\political system. Despite backing down on Greenland, he immediately picks another row and the circus begins again. It must be excruciating for Zelensky and Ukraine looking on while under relentless bombardment from Russia and the world is transfixed by one Trump induced crisis after another.

The main fault with Poland wanting to host American nuclear weapons (not develop their own) is because of Putin's policies. Let's not let the colonialist off the hook. Can you blame Poland either?

I am 99% sure this is inspired by a documentary where a penguin has decided he is going to die, and walks away from the other penguins into the distance.

If only Trump would follow suit. It's gotten recent attention due to TikTok etc. and since the White House is ran by perennially online edgelords…

So ,should it be mandatory for similar false information to be accorded rebuttal space -of value comparable to the acceptance (ie reposting/commenting) of the counterfeit claim in the first place?

(in addition to punishment where the actual author is found)

The platform should be imo liable for any expenses and the loss of any profit it may have made on the back of such clear misinformation.

Have you not seen the fake tweet that set off these comments regarding Eric Trump?

    Trump wasn't talked down.

He caved. Faced with pushback from European countries he folded.

And he has a habit of folding when faced with any pushback

I was watching an interview with James Cameron who is currently based in New Zealand. He said that America has turned its back on science, is deeply polarised, and everyone is at each other's throats. The American interviewer, who didn't seem to agree with him, said that America is a great place to live but New Zealand looks stunning. Cameron then said, "I'm not there for the scenery, I'm there for the sanity".

That's a fantastic line from Cameron!

This while his administration has a trade deal with China. It look's like Trump is set on imposing a form of trade blockade on Canada after his ego was upset by Carney's speech. https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=0185b62e13fe9bb80b72cf758c8625c58f4baf59f23d8817f740a480eb929794JmltdHM9MTc2OTIxMjgwMA&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=4&fclid=04f55f2f-e40c-6108-1379-4b9fe541609e&psq=Has+the+U.S+got+trade+deals+with+China&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly91c3RyLmdvdi9hYm91dC9wb2xpY3ktb2ZmaWNlcy9wcmVzcy1vZmZpY2UvcHJlc3MtcmVsZWFzZXMvMjAyNS9ub3ZlbWJlci91cy1jaGluYS10cmFkZS1hbmQtZWNvbm9taWMtZGVhbC1kcmF3cy1wcmFpc2U

Trump wants to vassalise the "Western Hemipshere".

To help Canada and expand European markets, the EU needs to finally ratify CETA. I have reservations about the Investor Court provisions though. 17 EU states have ratified. Those who have not include Italy, Poland, France and France.

…and there is your problem claiming that deportations are the reason for negative net migrations in 2025 unless you can give verifiable figures for deportations being greater than the 800,000 - 1,200,000 unauthorised entries.

Best I can see for 2025 is a claim that 622,000 were deported in 2025. Under Biden in 2024, according to the New York Times, 650,000 were deported in 2024 and 590,000 in 2023. The average for those two years is the same as for this year and was achieved without the cost of the extra $19 Billion to ICE for this year - and the same for the next three years - and was achieved without the hassle, crimes and murders of these presently employed ICE thugs.

Look who's back banging the Hitler was a Far Leftist drum again.
After having it painstakingly explained to him previously 🤔

It's almost as if a constant cycle of rinse and repeat bullshít is necessary to keep the zone flooded and people distracted.

The sheer effort that people expend on countering this kind of bad faith BS.
Has to be done to deliberately distract from egregious actions elsewhere as well as to try and paint opposition to Musk & Trump's actual right wing Fascist Corporatism as the "real" Nazis.

I've found a fair few Trump supporters including the ones on here believe that. Or have deluded themselves into believing it.

Trump is the most divisive US president in history. It was very noticeable at his two inauguration speeches he never said anything about bringing all Americans together or being a president for all.

Its always a quick shorthand to understanding the historical awareness and basic critical thinking skills of anyone who swallows it for me TBH.

There are very few means of quickly making a judgement of a person.
How they treat hospitality & retail staff, and whether they believe Hitler was a lefty 😉
Will definitely give accurate 1st impressions though.

I am not so sure. T has not ACOed e.g. Venezuela and Iran. The worldview he and people around him seem to have is utter contempt for the USs (maybe soon to be former at this rate?) European allies, and belief that our dependence on the US is so deep, they can do exactly as they please. IMO, they view countries like Denmark similar to how the Soviet Union under Stalin viewed the Warsaw pact members.

He was moaning and pouting in Davos (about the "Europeans", "Denmark" all being ingrates etc) ironically exactly like a child who was refused an ice cream dessert, so it set me wondering had someone he still thinks he has to listen to got to him.

On other matters, was wondering were Israel on his Board of Peace as had not been following it? Below article says they will join it… https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cn8jek4vv8ko

Seven countries including Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt say they will join US president Donald Trump's Board of Peace, according to a joint statement.

They will join Israel, which also publicly confirmed its participation earlier.

All the world's worst war criminals and various despots etc. brought together in the name of "peace", by Trump's America! You could not make this up as it is too absurd and horrible.

It would probably be better than having Trump put a blockade of varied sorts on Canada's trading with the free world. American hemisphere be damned.

It looks like ICE just murdered someone in Minneapolis, and if the video I just involuntarily saw is real, Americans need to riot. And riot hard.

That is one scary f*cking video.
