New shape Prius 1.8L or 2.0L?

Am interested in getting a new shape used Prius in the next couple of months. I have noticed that they have a 1.8L engine (122hp) and a 2.0L (223hp). The 1.8L are much more common second hand and I was wondering has anyone any experience of these? Are they gutless? All show and no go? Or fine to drive in the real world?…

Are they gutless? All show and no go? Or fine to drive in the real world? The 0 to 100 time difference on them is fairly big on paper, but I'd love to hear real world experience.
I'm wondering why there is a lot more 1.8's on the market, is it because their owners are dissatisfied with them?

As far as I know, only the 2L plug in hybrid is available brand new here in Ireland. I think all of the 1.8L are Japanese imports. Almost all Prius's in Ireland are Japanese imports. Nobody buys them new here
