    google searches JBS.

JBS Begins Trading on the NYSE, Completes Dual Listing with Brazil's B3. JBS, one of the world's largest food companies, begins trading today on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol JBS, marking the completion of its dual listing strategy.13 Jun 2025

The JBS scandal refers to a massive, ongoing series of controversies involving the world's largest meat producer, primarily centered on widespread bribery of Brazilian officials (Operation Car Wash), illegal deforestation in the Amazon, worker rights abuses (including child labor), selling rotten meat, and price-fixing schemes in the US meat market, leading to huge fines, environmental damage, and concerns over supply chain ethics and market manipulation despite efforts to list on the New York Stock Exchange. 2024

JBS Dawn Meats refers to the relationship between global meat giant JBS and Irish food company Dawn Meats, a major European processor established in 1980, known for supplying supermarkets and foodservice with beef/lamb, operating globally, and focusing on sustainability, with JBS establishing its international HQ in Dublin recently, highlighting a significant link between these two major players in the food industry.

Just thinking what percentage of that Brazilian s@#/_e beef went into Mc Donalds.... if there that antibiotics beef in mc Donalds im done as a customer. A smaller percentage for Dawn Foods is a good chunk of beef. He should be dismissed from Dawn too cause that's where it going to hurt most.

If I was the owners of Dawn Foods tonight you'd hear me yelling at that clown the far end of the suir estuary.

We need to know who Dawn Foods supplies with Brilizan beef and what tests are carried out to ensure no hormone beef is in our food. Is Mc Donalds a being supplied beef from Brazil via Dawn. What internal checks are Mc Donalds carrying out?

All the other Irish processors will have to answer the the same questions.

Its like Larry admitting he put a bit of horse in burgers which didn't by the way.

Murrin proclaiming grass feed PGI beef days are over you can't serve two masters.

McDonald's get supplied beef from Dawn Meats which is different from Dawn Farm Foods which Murrin is involved with.

Ok but that statement has made a huge ramifications for the Irish Beef Industry on s9 many levels.

TBF to McDonalds they are very strict about what goes i to there product. Dawn only supply beef for there patties, the rest of the mixture us supplied by McDonalds. They were the only big fast food outlet not caught up in the horse meat scandal.

At the time.e there criteria was beef from U30 mo th QA cattle similar to higher supermarket specs except the beef can come from P grade cattle

Queallys own 90% of dawn farm foods and Murrin 10% according to chat gpt, its a private company too, makes the optics even worse

TBF to bord bia they are very strict about what goes in to there products they label themselves to, thats why horsemeat entered the system and caused uproar.

It's hard to trust anyone but ones self.

But this issue is its Dawn and Mc Donalds are linked thus when u have a ceo of a company that has a Dawn name opening admitted using Brazilian beef, its no good for anyone's business in the beef industry. 128kg of Brazilian beef was found to been contaminated but no-one can say for definite where it ended up in Ireland. Its long sold people ate it and Bord Bia proclaim traceability, what an absolute joke or fictional or idiocy. Same ceo is charged with promotion of uncontaminated Irish beef worldwide. You couldn’t write the script.

"If you're explaining, you're losing," often attributed to Ronald Reagan. Now there's an awful lot of explanations needed. We live in a world of 'fake news' whether its fake or not thousands if not millions can't seem to decipher. Thats whats at issue here and Dawn probably have premium Brazilian beef but its beef got a horrible bad name.

The only way is for all our processors to ban South American beef, be clear in stating it and that takes uncertainty out of the debate. Providence is absolute in the beef industry.

I don't think anyone that eats in McDonalds regularly is worried about where the beef comes from.

That Brazilian beef ended up in the catering trade, same as 20 years ago. Lots of hotels had egg on their face that time. The big processors, if they value their name in the market shouldn't touch it. Leave that end of the market to the smaller lads with the van with no name printed on the side.

This is a great website - I'd trust Dawn Farm Feeds 100% - sure why wouldn't you.

I really like this bit - especially the first line.

"Sourcing 100% renewable electricity since 2014"

This too is a bogus claim. It is not possible to seperate renewable electricity from conventional electricity as our grid is a completely intermeshed grid so will receive it's power from a mix of sources. As the majority of renewable energy is sourced from wind, an intermittent power source, it is impossible to run the Dawn business on 100% renewable energy. Fossil fuel generated power come into play also.

The amount of waffle from companies playing up their environmental and sustainability credentials is astounding.

We are not in the Bord Bia scheme as we sell most of our own weanlings and weanlings/yearlings that are bought in as dairyXbeef calves that we rear. We also buy in cull cows that we fattened for slaughter.

If any of ye that are surprised Murrin/Dawn Farm Foods/Dawn Meats etc then I suggest that ye pull out of the Bord Bia Scheme and put pressure on them - otherwise you're continuing to feed into a system where the lunatics are running the asylum. As @wrangler has posted many times in the past - farmers need to stand up for themselves rather than waiting for the someone else to do it for them.

Unfortunately dairy farmers milk wont be collected if you're not bord bia compliant

I cannot send organic stock to the factory unless they are Bord Bia approved. That's on top of the organic certification. See it was the Beef Plan Movement that actually brought the matter to light. It was written on packaging of Subway, even tough Subway say they don't use Brazilian beef. Absolute joke he has to go. It shouldn't even have to wait for a Board meeting. Other such bodies such be looked at too, for conflicts of interest.

Is there any stand we can make at Bord Bia audit. I know it would be lovely to make a stand and not do it but that would be unfair on the guys that are up next. Can we refuse to do the survey and just leave comments on it outlining our views. May not be workable, just looking for ideas.

It's up to the farm orgs, who have reps on the Board, to declare no confidence in him as Chairman, and if necessary withdraw their participation on the Board as it's bringing the scheme into disrepute with farmers.

I’d be the first to criticise the IFJ but they did put pressure on Larry Murrin to resign in the paper today.

You’d have to ask what the f*ck Francie O’Gorman and Denis Drennan said or didn’t say at the Board meeting today. They’re supposed to represent farmers’ views at these meetings.

Board bia imo is a farce......but with the passing of the Mercosur deal it's just laughable to think were forced to comply with it and all the other regulations

Its a cosy little group.... Frank has been promised a few handy positions for the future.….

The make up of the board is a whos who of walking wan**ers, its a strange hill to die on though for the goverment/bord bia, the sheer arrogance of it all is what is really hitting farmers nerves...

When you see how Phil Hogan was made an example of over the covid bulls**t, id class this as a lot worse

No survey means no certification unfortunately. Also many are stuck in bord bia for the foreseeable because of SCEP. Nobody would leave because they'd have to return all the money received to date.
