he wasn't wrong, but he did say that people should inject bleach into their veins as a cure

I think Rex Tillerson said it best, I think I mentioned it before in this thread:

"Tillerson, who was ousted in March 2018, told the magazine, “I used to go into meetings with a list of four to five things I needed to talk to him about, and I quickly learned that if I got to three, it was a home run, and I realized getting two that were meaningful was probably the best objective.”

He added that he “started taking charts and pictures with (him) because I found that those seemed to hold his attention better.”

“I think the other challenge that I came to realize early on is there were so many people who had access to his ear who were telling him things, most of which were untrue, and then he began to listen to those voices and form a view that had no basis in fact,” the former secretary of state said.

“So then you spent an inordinate amount of time working through why that’s not true, working through why that’s not factual, working through why that’s not the basis on which you want to understand this, you need to set that aside, let’s talk about what’s real. I think that was as big a challenge as anything,” Tillerson said."

Trump is genuinely that easily swayed by the last person he spoke to.

he was asked about the US-China relationship. He said that he always had a very good relationship with XI and Putin. He said that XI is an excellent man and respected by everybody. He called Covid the China virus. He decided to be diplomatic and stop calling it the China virus.

He asked Marco to stand up because he is the best secretary of state

    From The Guardian just now:

As Trump starts taking questions in Davos, the chair of the European parliament’s trade committee Bernd Lange confirms that “the EU-US deal is on hold until further notice” as the lawmakers pause its implementation process.

In a social media post, he added:

“Our negotiating team just decided to suspend work … on the legal implementation of Turnberry deal. Our sovereignty and territorial integrity are at stake. Business as usual impossible.”

Probably closer to WWIII than we have ever been

That won't accomplish anything. He's the most powerful person in the world. It's important to listen to him even if his mouth is a gushing fountain of perpetual verbal excrement.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

I’m not surprised at the clapping. Most of the audience will be business leaders, politicians, millionaires etc. A lot of them will lick arse to get ahead. Hardly a surprise.

"There's hatred between Zelensky and Putin". I wonder why is that Pinocchio?

The host asked about deals re: Greenland and deals with Denmark. He said that it is a small country and costing hundreds of billions to run per annum. He said that the US need it for National and international security. He said that they will use it to defend from the bad guys. He said that NATO treated the US very badly. But he got NATO to pay. He said that without the US, Ukraine would have lost completely to Russia. He said with Kamala and Joe, it would have evolved into WWIII. He is saving the world from WWIII. He said that the war in Ukraine is not easy to solve, because he is good at that stuff. He is saying that there is abnormal hatred between Zelenskyy and Putin. He can say that they are reasonably close. He said that they are both stubborn and it is difficult to balance. He called it a drone war. He believes that he is at point where they can get a deal done. He said that he is meeting Zelenskyy today

he is asked about Gaza. He said that there is peace in the Middle East. He said that Hamas has ageeed to give up their weapons. If they do not agree, they will be blown away. He said that Hamas were born with weapons in their hands. He said that there is peace in the Middle East because of the B2 bombers. He said that each bomb hit their target and their tomahawks. Saudi Arabia, UAE and Quatar couldn’t have signed the deal, because Iran was too powerful, approaching a nuclear weapon in 2 months. Iran is the bully of the Middle East. He complimented Steve and Jared

He's so insulting towards European leaders.

And has so much warmth for Xi and Putin. Or Vladimir as he calls him.

I disagree. The best response to narcissism is apathy. Nod politely, then move on to whoever is talking next.

Walk out on his speech, and you give it power. You give him, Fox News, his supporters etc ammunition to talk about how Trump was so strong in his speech that others walked out in protest.

Ignore his speech and move on, and you make his speech feel like an ineffectual damp squib.

he personally disrespected the leader of France and Switzerland. And this castigation of former allies has just been normalised

The crowd are the 1%. Nothing he does or says will really affect them at the end of the day.

Yet he wants to take Greenland to protect USA from China and Russia, its all so bizarre.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,656 ✭✭✭SaoPaulo41

The European Parliament on Wednesday decided to suspend its work on a trade deal between the 27-member bloc and the United States, a parliament member said, following US President Trump's repeated requests to take control over Greenland, a semi-autonomous Danish territory.

Does this mean the deal is dead or what exactly?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,497 ✭✭✭✭VinLieger

Its not bizarre at all, hes lying, he wants it for mineral rights and his own legacy for expanding the US.
