Bradley, Frimpong, Gomez and Szoboszlai are out first 4 choices at RB for the record. Surprised someone has to ask that

Totally disagree that Jones has been better than Grav over the course of the season. But Mac has had a lot of mediocre games. Whoever plays though needs to keep the tempo up

Lovely move.......great stuff from Kerkez bar the end bit

Great move. Hard luck Kerkez, did really well and good to see Jones make that run. Well defended in the end.

High tempo opening, please keep it up

Who is this exciting left back that's playing today?

in the context of that huge Marseille game, this team makes sense. If I’m picking one have for Jones, and one for Mac, this is the order I’d pick - Jones runs more, which is needed in a game like this. Mac will have time to dictate the midweek game.

Great work again by Kerkez, gets it Gakpo with 2 options for him to pass to and get us in a 3 v 2 in the box..............but Gakpo thinks the best option is the extra touch, cut inside and shoot! FFS.

Wish Gakpo would take a hour out of his day to learn to shoot with left, always comes back onto right and loses opportunities to shoot, annoying

That pass down the line from Wirtz to Frimpong is great, he knows how quick Frimpong is and where to put the ball where only he can reach

100% down the left today, Firmpong has pulled up a chair.

Really good tempo so far, keep it up

Great ball out of pressure from Wirtz, good effort from Ekitike too

Playing very well. Need to make it count on the scoresheet though.

Yeah we look well enough but we're living on half-chances here

Always a scary moment that from Ali

The performance against Arsenal has reminded Kerkez he was in the Premier League team of the season last year.

I don't know how you can watch us attack, particularly after winning the ball back, and say the issue isn't primarily tactical.

    It's purposely slow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,442 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Szoboszlai holding onto it too long there when Frimpong basically had the whole side of the pitch to himself to attack into.

It's slowed down on purpose, and it's annoying.

I couldn't agree with this more.

We invested 450m from a position of strength in order to consolidate and push on. It wasn't for a period of painful transition where our title defense would be gone by Hollowean.

We were short a CB and LWF but no one could have expected what happened.

    That kind of season

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,565 ✭✭✭The Rooster

Tempo has been very good today. Szobo slowed it down once badly, but generally we’ve been good. Not easy to break down such a defensive team - we almost need to let them have the ball a bit so they don’t continually have 7/8 bodies in the box

    Ah, fecks sake Dom

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,333 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

It was very soft, but Dom, you have to score. At least hit the target. Criminal.

A soft pen and a soft outcome. Can we do anything properly?

Jesus Szob....not a good few mins

Ball caught underneath his feet. Great break on and Wirtz needed the pass
