EB has changed the argument he had with the school to morph into a circus by allowing others not involved in any way with his original difference of Christian opinion with the school to get involved. He's made a nonsense of his argument. It only remains to find out who, if any, shows up in court to represent him today.

His brother left yesterdays sitting of the High Court after the judge called him out for disrupting the sitting and called the Gardai to remove him from the court so he might not attend today.

Edit: The RTE video clip of EB approaching the gate and the security man is hilarious. He challenges the Security man's authority to stop him while one of his gang is using a loudhailer to shout "free, free, free Enoch Burke", and at the Virgin News item as he tells the security man that what the judge says could be sacrilegious to the constitution, he should be exalting the constitution".

It's yet more hassle and legal expense for the school either way.

The State has failed to protect them.

He's been locked up for months and the first thing he does when he gets his freedom is to stand outside a school. What an unbelievably pathetic individual.

He is wasting his life away. He had probably ruined it already, but he is so stuck in his ways, he will continue this action until his retirement age.

What a waste of his time, the schools time, the courts time, the guards time. But he is what he is.

And such a smart and affable individual apparently before all this blew up.

He is also impacting on the lives of his siblings. Do any of them have wives/husbands/partners? Who would want to get involved with this family?

Can he be returned to jail for 'attempting' to gain access to the private school grounds?. Hopefully they let him in a few metres so that he crossed the threshold from public to private property, therefore ticking the 'return to jail' box..

The school has been granted permission to serve papers on him to have him returned to jail.

Wilson Hospital School has begun fresh applications to the High Court for a fresh committal of EB to prison after he turned up at the school today in direct defiance of the court itself.

Why should the school be obliged again, at this stage, to apply to the court to have EB committed again to prison when EB is pointedly defying the court itself and is televising live to us and it that he is breaking the High Court order after the judge formally advising him about his future where obeying the court orders are concerned?

EB stepped around the legal niceties the law imagined would bind him, and is trapping itself in before it acts against him. EB told the judge in court yesterday exactly what he would be doing today and went ahead in doing it.

It seems to me that, at this stage, the High Court should not be asking the school to approach it with a new request for EB's committal again when EB has made it clear in advance to that court that he is going to disobey it's order not to trespass at WHS. It should be merely necessary for the judge to look at the recorded footage to ascertain it to be a fact that EB deliberately disobeyed the court's order again. EB went on a bit of a rant specifically at the judge today in his recorded interviews by the media, spouting on about the judge being sacrilegious to the constitution and needing to exalt it.

There is definitely some plan to letting him out knowing what he was going to do.

This is spot on . Why is this mentaller going in and out of the Joy? Not the place for him.

    He should be in Dundrum.

The Court will be able to show he was afforded every opportunity to prepare for his tribunal.

Can we strip him of citizenship and deport him to the south pole ?

Dundrum has been closed for a year or more now, the people attending its services transferred to another facility. The grounds are/were being used as a tented village for immigrants. It's grounds planned for new apartments and houses.

I regret to say that he may repeat his scarlet pimpernel act again, like when he was dodging the Gardai the last time looking to detain him and convey him to the Joy. He may be difficult but he's not brain-dead.

No plan and there never will be. You can't keep people locked up because you think they might do or not do something…

So far the longest run for contempt of court is 24 years. Looks like the boy has made breaking it is life ambition.

If he gave a crap about the kids he wouldn't be there causing a commotion.

Can only assume the hope is this process can be brought to an end and these disruptions once and for all.

The type of people turning up at the school for this is certainly concerning though.

Apparently the judge has given the go ahead to the schools solicitor to serve EB the notice of the committal order hearing by email with the case to be brought before the court again tomorrow. It looks likely that if the order sender gets an affirmative "message delivered" signal from the Burke's email address and affirms that to be a fact to the court, the court will accept that as evidence that part of the legal committal process has been completed.

I dont see a solution to this at all.

It will be a continual cycle of jail, release, back at school, arrest, jail.

    Rinse, repeat.

Yes, that's exactly what I think too. Judge has given the school permission to serve papers via Enoch's email address.

It's to be returned before the judge tomorrow, guessing Enoch won't go willingly so he will have to sign Garda warrant. Warrant will take several days to act on. Let's say Monday at the earliest. If he does a scarlet pimpernel, then he could well turn up on Wed/Thurs (sorry I can't remember which day his case is being heard next week) and be arrested on the spot but also have his case heard. It will be a pantomime/circus/kerfuffle.

Why can't he prepare for his hearing in prison anyways?

Lots of other prisoners do that.

(leaving aside the fact that he isn't actually preparing, he's outside a school annoying people instead)

The logistics and thought and planning that goes into all this for the Burkes. The thought has to enter their heads at some point ‘do I really want to be doing this?’.
The think they’re fighting the system but they’re just another number churning through it. This is routine for the system. The Burkes are just getting media coverage out of it

Back in the good old days you could lock people up and even cut up their brain if there was a whiff of crazy off them.

Now we have certifiables roaming around free and we cant do nothing with them till they hack someone up.

We really cant find a middle ground.

Only this time by his immediate action on being released from prison for the express purpose of arranging a legal case against the panel hearings system, EB has made it plain that HE, as the alleged aggrieved victim of the panel system, did not intend to do so, instead turning up at WHS to harangue the security man there and deliver verbiage to his selected audience. He has made it clear that he is NOT interested in going to and winning his case against the school before the panel. He's only interested in tilting against the courts at this stage, making himself out to be the victim again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,331 ✭✭✭✭aloyisious

Because that is not part of his/their plan at this stage. Being a martyr for the cause is what he is fixated on.

A panel acceptable to him can be found but they must all oppose transgenderism.

Mod will get tired of changing the thread title.

Or just change it to a fits-all "enoch-burke-is-the-burk/berk/jerk"

Are people still sending their kids to school there? I personally couldn’t have my kids attending that circus every morning.

Surely it’s time for a more lengthy sentence? Give the lad a chance to see sense. If he goes back after that, even longer sentence.
