Trumps slow. Perhaps if he was not off playing Golf at the weekend he would have done something but its too little too late now. A proper American president like Obama or Clinton would have.

Too little too late. A proper competant US President like Obama or Clinton would have sorted this over the weekend and not be off playing Golf like Trump.

It's hard to see where it goes. No defined alt leadership. It really needs the police and army to begin to refuse to shoot their own people. The religious police will never change their minds. Sadly, generally Iranians are lovely people.

Wonder will Trump be busy giving out to Zelensky instead of Iran-reports Ukraine just hit a Chevron Oil tanker in the black sea. Oops

    When I said

    I got this on twitter:
"Public demonstrations against the rioters have been far bigger than the anti-government protests"
If you are getting this tidbit on “mainstream” media, I will eat my hat.

Well, I was slightly wrong but also right!
Below is a very good example of ruling class, reality-inverting, disinformation war propaganda aimed at “their own” citizens (thats you) to get them to support their endless colonial barbarianism.
And yes, it has always been this brazen & deceitful - always.

"The BBC is showing footage of pro-government demonstrations behind this comedian, presenting it as anti-govt “protests
Video of the anti-government protests often shows small gangs of men violently rioting and looting, and the MI6-aligned broadcaster can’t let you see that!"

Are they really though? Trump is only interested in quick victories. If they could topple the regime by bombing a few key targets then he'd be happy to do that but that's not likely to work. They'd need to send in troops and there's no appetite for that.

This response reminds me so much of all of the mealy mouthed responses to the Russian invasion of Ukraine from the hard-left. A couple of lines condemning the killing (without actually criticising the Iranian regime directly or even saying who was carrying out the killing) before spending most of the statement in his geopolitical safe space of blaming everything on the USA. Pathetic.

I've read enough of your paranoid nonsense that Mossad is behind all this not to bother engaging with it

Absolutely. Always the same. Any enemy of the US is always the lesser evil to these people (of course Trump is horrendous, but that's not the point here)

I've met few . They referred to themselves as Persian rather than Iranian . Though that's based on 2 people

No Iranian “regime” spokespeople or ambassadors interviewed in western media to 1/dispute the numbers killed 2/call those killed terrorists or human shields.
Contrast with other recent outbreaks of violence in the middle east.
Irish government was condemning a crack down on anti regime dissidents in Iran while simultaneously glad handing the Xi Jinping who has more political dissidents imprisoned than any other country.

European governments are hoping that a Trump/Netenyahu adventure in Iran will distract from a US invasion of EU sovereign territory in Greenland.

Death toll figures are what Trump says will motivate him to intervene or not and suddenly the reported death toll jumps from 600 to 12,000 but the single source for this figure used by western media is a pro Shah, US funded organisation based in Washington.

The people of Iran are not the motivation here. The regional dominance of Israel and the isolation of China are.

It looks like large numbers of unarmed demonstrators are being slaughtered by a theocratic regime that is utterly discredited at this stage. Belief in a personal god is fine but it is not OK to announce that the Almighty is telling you personally how to run the state and all who disagree with you are corrupt on earth blasphemers deserving death. Such notions should have been put to bed centuries ago. To state the obvious yet again, there is no error control in that system, no way of asking why the pious Islamic Republic of Iran is far better at producing drug addicts and prostitutes than, for example, an adequate water supply. One doesn’t need to be a fan of Trump or Netanyahu to hope for a better, more secular, future for this great country.

there should be ABSOLUTLY NOTHING stopping Trump from intervening in IRAN - even in a military context . He based his ‘ concern ‘ on numbers and he now has a choice of numbers to ‘select’ from. Some of those numbers are frightening especially those from US sources

. He even has an additional reason to move faster than yesterday and with even more force than originally intended because of the decision to execute some of the protesters . That ‘threat’ is real because it is part of the ‘ culture’ of that part of the world for certain behaviours

    What struck me when reading

A phrase came to mind when reading your post Ie. “Let’s get our own house in order first”.

The majority of the population of the world - Greenland being the latest ‘to find out’ - see Trump’s behaviour /policies as setting back by tens’ of years of effort to make the world a better place for their populations.

He is creating serious havoc to ALL facets of domestic and international society Especially concerning economic, financial, social , security, thrust, trade and cultural areas.

The problem is not only what he is doing but the way he hoes about it and the timing of what he is doing.

Interesting that some of the same people who dismissed the number of casualties given by the Gaza Ministry of Health. An organisation on the ground, treating casualties, recovering bodies and identifying remains. Are now the same people accepting the casualty figures given by anti Iranian government lobby groups based outside Iran, many of whom have never been to Iran. Please explain your reasoning.
If the US is welcome to intervene internally in a country killing civilians then maybe it could start with its “closest ally” who has killed over 70,000 people, 83% of whom were civilians, women and children etc.

If you think a US government is so appalled at the death of innocent civilians that is simply must intervene while it is still providing the bombs that have killed over 70,000 it’s time to have a little look at your belief system.

Arab states seem to be wisely lobbying Trump not to attack Iran by force, especially given 40K US troops currently stationed with 3000KM of Iran. Looks like Saudi and Qatar is not allowing it's airspace to be used as will most the others and US aircraft carriers are 1000's of miles away at the moment.

Also interesting that Israeli media are also confirming outside forces had been arming the rioters who then hijacked the peaceful protests.

    Rejoice ⚡️⚡️⚡️

With this, plus Irans hypersonics area-denying the US Imperial pirate navy and their counter-terrorism agency finding 5000 starlink mobile units still in their boxes (with some spectacular new electronic warfare victories happening now behind that) this feels like an inflection where you can see a turning point of 500 years of European & US colonialism & theft happening in real time in this region.

I see we're back again to the "Iran secretly has a world class military that has the US quaking in its boots" literally a few months after they were given a humiliating trashing by Israel, with no functional air defense.

What specifically makes your intelligence assessment of current events in Iran more accurate than the former Secretary of State and director of the CIA? Is he incorrect in saying Mossad is involved?

He was on Newsnight last week disputing that the 2024 Venezuelan election was rigged. Here he manages to mention the Iranian massacres as an aside in the last paragraph, after making clear he essentially wants the 'authorities' who carried them out to remain in power, given that (as he well knows) the Iranian people have no hope of having 'their voices heard without violent repression'.

The fact that people actually still think this Geriatric Trot is a capable, competent politician worth listening to will never not amuse me.
