To be fair, the lady who was killed and her wife were being mouthy and seemed to be making life a bit difficult for the ICE agents. It's probably not the smartest thing to do particularly in this environment.

But for anyone to claim that the response was justified? That's mind boggling. For the President of the US to lie about it was unthinkable pre-Trump. I saw two press conferences with law enforcement officials and they described something that never happened. They're absolute scum for doing that.

The gaslighting and pushing of false narratives from the very top in the US is terrifying. Just listening to Trump talk about Greenland. He's trying to spread fear with this China and Russia nonsense. Colin Powell at least presented a case to invade Iraq. This clown just throws out big empty statements his base are incapable of critically evaluating.

Like the Israelis just waited years for an excuse to inflict genocide on Gaza, there is a section of society in the US who just needed a catalyst to try and use their might to bully the rest of the world because at their core, generally, the US is a very selfish, arrogant and power hungry country. And that catalyst was Trump.

God forgive me but the worst thing that happened this planet in recent years is that the gunman didn't hit Trump right between the eyes.

She was not trying to get away from anyone - she inserted herself into this situation. She didn't just find herself on that road she is part of a group that follows ICE agents and tries to disrupt them.

She was blocking them from their job therefore committing a crime. One tried to open her door as she refused to get out - they were trying to arrest her.

Instead she refused and drove into a federal agent who responded to her wheels spinning, turning into him and her wife egging her on saying "drive baby drive". That agent will face no charges as he was legally justified to defend himself.

You do know in the US there is a history of people using vehicles to harm and/or kill police officers don't you?

Trump, MAGA et al are the manifestation of ego, greed, selfishness, cruelty that's all around us because of the economic model we subscribe to or have been subscribed to by others.

It's reached a nadir now, and the shocking thing is that we can watch it now in real time and HD. We didn't notice so much or turned a blind eye when it was happening across decades.

Cops in the US are not supposed to shoot in such a scenario. That's according to DHS policy. Your grounds to shoot are pretty terrible TBH. In most democracies that results in a conviction.

We're the same species that burned witches in the town square and gassed millions for being Jewish.

You'd like to think we're more liberal and understanding in our comfortable lifestyles,but in reality we'd all kill for the last tin of Beans if we had to.

I think you will always have sociopaths that express no sympathy or even empathy for a person being killed. I'm not sure why other posters engage with them here, they are never going to change their minds or their personality.

I'm the same, this is my first time in here this year and it's sad how far some people will go to excuse murder.

I think you may be confusing the killer with the guy he apprehended in June?(the one who dragged him with his car -from a very quick google search)

You need to take a long look at yourself in the mirror. He could very easily have let her go and followed up later. He was in no danger whatsoever.

I dont think its right to shoot someone in this situation but cops in America have been doing it for as long as ive been paying attention.

My understanding is they sued for emotional distress and proved he lied intentionally.

Defamation is brought by someone seeking protection of their good name. Your good name can't bother you if you've passed.
