I dare you to show a single person in real life that post and proudly tell them that's your opinion

Always the ones you most expect to come out with complete nonsense.

The discussion is already happening between Denmark and Greenland. The only 2 parties that matter. The US can get fcuked.

Not true : working or residing in a country without a visa is normally seen as a civil matter, not a criminal offence. In many cases they may have simply entered on a temporary visa and then overstayed when the visa ran out….those are not criminals by any stretch of the imagination.

She did not attempt to kill him... So that's an outright lie. He did murder her though. But you're naturally engaging in justification of it.

If Zohran Mamdanis win in the NYC mayoral race tells us anything its that progressive populist candidates are actually popular and can win elections easily even in the US. Unfortunately the Dems don't want to change so here we are.

Such nonsense. NYC is not representative of the United States electorate.

A progressive Democrat would have done even worse than Harris.

    I'm partial to your abracadabra
I'm raptured by the joy of it all

Sorry Luxxis, your reading comprehension is obviously below even that of the Grok LLM you fed my post to…

The US hasn't been as divided as it is now since the Civil War. It's institutions have failed (or more accurately, have been deliberately dismantled) to the point where the administration are breaking the law on a weekly, if not daily basis. The Supreme Court has been rendered useless, it's "law enforcement" just killed a civilain in cold blood, it's education system ranks among the lowest in the developed world in terms of literacy (yes, they have some excellent universities but their primary and secondary education has been failing for decades - arguably deliberately so: an ignorant population are easier to lie to). Sounds like a failed state or a tyrannical dictatorship to me.

As it stands, the US have a military base in Greenland. They've been told in the past by Denmark that they're welcome to have further military presence there since USA and Denmark are partners in NATO. Trump's administration claims they need Greenland for "defense", one has to ask who they need it to defend against? Russia? The country that in all likelihood control the US President? Even if they don't actually control him, every move he's made as president has suited their interests. Not even the most bloviated, vodka soaked moron in Russia believes the Russian Federation would last a week in a war with the USA (even without their NATO allies): it's been 4 years and they haven't even manage to take Ukraine, the Russian Armed Forces are a pale shadow of the Soviet Red Army (whose out-dated arms and tactics they're still relying on).

The only logical reason for the US to invade Greenland is to dismantle NATO. Since Congress approved legislation that prevents any president from withdrawing the United States from NATO without approval from the Senate or an Act of Congress back in 2023, Trump can't pull out of NATO by means of an executive order. He can, however, as his actions against Venezuala have proven, order the military to carry out illegal acts of war and a strike against Greenland (whcih would trigger Article 5) effectively ends US involvement in NATO (and likely NATO itself until a European based defensive pact can be formed).

I did notice Thomas Massie introduced a bill to remove the US from NATO in December so perhaps they're trying the legislative approach too. I can't see it passing unless Trump uses similar threats against the lives of politicians and their families as he was reported to have done to pass his "big beautiful bill" but maybe it'd be for the best if it does: it would take Greenland out of his sights and it would put serious pressure on European leaders (and the leaders of the other free, democratic nations) to form a replacement defensive pact very quickly.

If you (or Grok) could understand English, you'd realise I was discussing Nuclear Deterrance when I said you only need 2 nukes to destroy Russia: i.e. having 2 or more nuclear weapons (France alone have 290) puts you in a position of mutually assured destruction with them. Since you have trouble with reading comprehension, let me make that clearer for you they can't nuke Europe without being destroyed themselves too. Thie mutually assured destruction (or M.A.D.) has been the backbone of global politics since the late 1940s.

Do you need anything else explained for you? Or should I get out the crayons?

Why do the USA have a say over Hawaii Guam or Peurto Rico?

Listening to Tim Walz here. He speaks very well. I don't know much about the guy but he seems high in common sense and empathy which is sadly lacking in USA politics.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

I could go on a podcast or show and spout endless stuff with no coherent message. Doesn't mean I should be elected. Do you know everything he said

Remarkably I was beginning to think that the Trump Admin team were following a similar propaganda line by claiming that those who opposed them were antisemite lefty radicals, and that included claims from Mr Stephen Miller himself in Washington DC. It would be a terrible irony if the opponents were to think that Trump's team contained members of a modern-day SS.

I stopped reading after you said kid napped a foreign leader and take over Greenland. Suppose your support Maduro now.

Greenland he is trying to aquire by buying , Countries boarders have changed all the time through our the centuries .

He says he will invade but he wont its just a bargaininng tool and to rile up attention and people fall for it all the time.

How about not being so negative about something you have no influence on.

Not to dwell on the actual incident in Minneapolis yesterday but if any such similar, tragic, decisive incident happened anywhere else or any time else when/where a more sane leader was in place, you can be sure their initial statements would be cliched platitudes to defuse the situation, buy time and gather facts.

You'd expect a Taoiseach/President to say things like This is a tragic event, we need time for professional investigators to establish facts, we appeal for respect and peace on all sides while they carry out their investigations, and pray for the victims in this incident.

Not a double down within hours of the incident branding a Victim as a terrorist, obviously an enemy of ours, who sent our brave guy to hospital. This is what we're fighting for. But that's effectively what Trump and Noem said, putting into their statements stuff that could easily be seen to be wrong. ICE were stuck in snow? Recovering in hospital, lucky to be alive?

Noem was on SKY news there being questioned about it, and obviously had been coached to try back track and minimise as much of what she'd said yesterday. She was extending sympathy to victim's family, saying investigations were ongoing but still could not walk back on the party line that this was domestic terrorism!

To brand someone killed tragically by a massive overreaction, made in a spilt second by an armed Agent (I'll allow time for investigators to say how legal etc it is) as a Terrorist! That's inflammatory, that's divisive, that's planned to escalate things, that's a red flag that politically they are looking to exploit this incident.

When you are someone that has demonstrated they are a weaponized scumbag that hasn`t two brain cells to rub together and your duty is to spread as much fear and terror as possible to please your masters , or someone who purposely denies what their own eyes are seeing, then anything in life must be challenging.

85% of the population of the Greenland population oppose being a part of the US.. So you think they should be forced into becoming a part of the US if they offer enough money? Denmark and the rest of the EU very much so view it as a legitimate threat btw. Trump is behaving like a tyrant.

I don't have any time for Maduro but it's correct to say he had a leader kidnapped and his agenda is frankly questionable. He only just pardoned the Honduran leader who was doing the exact same thing btw..

    Well done Spud

You just swallowed some fake news 👏👏

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,657 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

No she didn't try to take out the ICE officer and the only people who are claiming she did are lying. Everyone has seen the video. He ignored established protocols on these situations btw and as a result a woman was murdered. You are an apologist.

Must be challenging to be an Ice officer

About as challenging as being an edgelord on the internet I'd imagine

She was instructed to exit the vehicle.

Did the masked men identify themselves?
From what I can hear, they got out of their vehicle and told her to "get out of the fu*kin car" - is that what they're trained to do?

Decides to ignore that and take out an officer in an attempted getaway.

She didn't take out an "officer" - it is clear that he wasn't hit because he was standing away from the vehicle as it turned as you can see from this still where he is behind the agent marked "police"…

    image.png

Plus, you'll also note that he had his weapon drawn before she started to move forwards. He didn't retaliate, it was intended. He didn't shout "stop or I'll shoot" or anything similar. he just pulled the trigger. Three times!!!

As for her "getaway" - she is a US citizen and had not broken any laws and had nothing to get away from - unless she feared from a band of unidentified thugs who appear to have a habit of kidnapping people without charge. It wasn't a getaway despite the propaganda you've been reading.

Its unfortunate and wreckless that democrats like Tim Walz continue to radicalise these protestors, putting both protestors and Ice officers at risk.

Ah would you grow up - honestly, do you really believe what you post?

I ask again. Surely, by your own logic, the Jan 6th protesters deserved everything they got and trump should never have pardoned by.

Which is it? Is it OK to attack the law enforcement or not?
