An evil cretin, but even if the democrats somehow regain power I very much doubt people like him will be punished for their roles in what they're doing. I heard Chuck schumers reaction today to what's being going on and you'd get more blowback for being 5mins late for work. Its pathetic. And that's across the board. There's no fight in the Yanks, they talk a good game but they're gutless. Country on the line and they do nothing. Land of the free, home of the brave, my hole.

Well that just ignored my point.

    Lincoln put it best:

"Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected?"

US self mythologies are all based on this non existent danger to the homeland. The cult like adoration of active service members likewise (although as has been shown recently, certain parts of the public can be trained to think of some veterans as parasites). And so your military gets to travel around the world and point guns at the (primarily brown) natives. But the rest of the world can see American military members for what they are, economic stormtroopers.

Oh he's very far from being a "cretin". That's the problem.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,901 ✭✭✭threeball

In any normal society he would be, as everything he's doing would see him doing prison time. He is cute enough to let others do the dirty work though. I'll give him that much.

No. He's no cretin. This guy is a smart and calculating sociopath with long term plans that he's been formulating for some time. The guy he handles is a cretinous, bloated, swine. But Stephen Miller isn't and it would be remiss to underestimate him.

That's what's worrying about all of this.

You didn't answer my question. I wasn't posting here at that time but if it was happening now or if I was posting then I'd condone it absolutely. 2 wrongs don't make a right.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,254 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

So maybe you need to rewrite that post you made with the facts now correct! It was an interesting take but obviously some mistakes were made.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,343 ✭✭✭✭aloyisious

Eh no. I see you want to guide me on what I write and post here but no thank you very much. Have a nice day.

Poor Trump, he doesn't know what he's started. George Santos thinks it's a good idea for him to visit Venezuela soon to aid the poor there. Maybe Don can appoint him as U.S ambassador there.

There was a quote about him, “he got into politics because his arms were too weak to strangle prostitutes”

    It’s very accurate.

No worries. At least we cleared up the inaccuracies!

Is somebody on this thread or even a member of the Democrats condoning this attack? In the scheme of things, this really doesn't amount to a whole lot though.

Meanwhile complete silence from you in relation to Trump pushing a conspiracy theory that Walz was responsible for the killing of Melissa Hortman and her husband…

You have been on Boards.ie since 2013 and yet while now posting a video from 37 years ago attempting to justify Trump and cronies stealing of another countries oil, - as well as a highly likely war crime committed by the U.S. military, - you somehow not being aware just over 3 years ago of the attack on Paul Pelosi during a plot to kidnap his wife Nancy shows clearly who and what you really are.

The security argument on Greenland falls because the US already has the right, under a treaty with Denmark, to put troops there. There were 80,000 troops there during the Cold War.

People in Trumps orbit have been talking about Greenland's minerals. That's the real issue.

Watching Trump's speech to the GOP house membership.
He's absolutely away with the fairies, decrying the violence of the Dem's and their viciousness and now waffling about the "Great defender of children" Doug LaMalfa, quite an odd epithet to bestow upon him.

Hearing him opine about the Great victory that they can look forward to come the mid-terms.
Aswell as calling Mike Johnson a high quality person, religious and a tough cookie.

Absolute clown show whilst he's demeaning Thomas Massie now too.
It's basically a repeat of the Fr Ted golden cleric speech.

As for his waffle about Steve Scalise and his loving wife?
Now he's telling stories about other wives looking for the next husband while the dead husband is still warm, but not Mrs Scalise 🤷‍♂️

    Edit

And now back to waffling about Biden and the fake news.
Aswell as again lying about Jan 6th, the "unselect" committee and the "peaceful march" in 2021.

We're not really the target audience of this speech, but we'll watch it to shake our heads in disbelief that this man is two-time US president. His supporters will watch it to hear him slag off Nancy Pelosi.

This is his favourite kind of speech to do where he can just meander from subject to subject at leisure, revisit petty grievances as he remembers them, big himself up, speak authoritatively on things he has absolutely no knowledge of and then more petty grievances.

"Scores of now-pardoned Jan. 6 insurrectionists will gather from 11:45am for a march to the Capitol starting at the Ellipse.

One insurrectionist who says he's attending: Enrique Tarrio, who was sentenced to prison until 2045 until Trump intervened."

Today marks the fifth anniversary of the current president, then loser of the 2020 election, inciting a riot and causing death and injury.

How and why he was reelected will be something I'll never ever understand.

Elect a clown... Expect a circus

"How and why he was reelected will be something I'll never ever understand."

Because that's what America is right now.

It's very arguable that Trump is in fact the very best possible representation of America as it currently stands.

And that this is not only what America is now, but what it will be going forward.

And if they continue like this into the future, Europe has a choice to make. Collectively disentangle from them no matter what pain it causes in a show of strength and unity, or be swallowed individually by their imperialism.

I was looking at the Trump stance on Greenland and Denmark and his words had me musing about what Denmark might do with the Greenlanders council clearance, like deciding to hold a Winter Exercise on the Island [maybe with some other Northern European NATO countries] for several weeks, just as a means of reassuring the Islanders that their life will go on as normal until both Denmark and Greenland DECIDE things should be different by referendum and not by bullying.

Because of idiotic left wing rhetoric like him "inciting a riot".

He did nothing of the sort.

How is this inciting a riot?

"I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard"

I know your pain. I know you’re hurt. We had an election that was stolen from us. … But you have to go home now. We have to have peace. We have to have law and order"

It's very arguable that Trump is in fact the very best possible representation of America as it currently stands.

Unfortunately this could be correct and there seems to be a large enough amount of people over there who are in favour of that type of "leadership" and control. There are also far too many people who hover about this administration in a satellite capacity, content with the crumbs from the table.

Hopefully in three years time this whole sorry affair will have passed and the process of repairing the damage can begin. But it's going to be a long three years and who knows what further damage will be done in the meantime.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,343 ✭✭✭✭aloyisious

I'll bite. Where in the totality of his speech to the gathered that day was that small quoted section?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,402 ✭✭✭✭The Nal

Long story short - the algorithm. Same algo that has that clown (whoever it is assume its a tweet) tweeting that Trump incited a riot.

Longer story. Proud Boys et al and loads and loads of thick people.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 184 ✭✭randomcorkman

So this is about drugs? Fentanyl presumably, as that's the drug actually killing people? Do you really believe that? Really?

Lol at the way you ignore Biden's (nearly 40 year old) usage of the word international and Tiny's pardon of Hernández. Fox News is funny.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,402 ✭✭✭✭The Nal

Theres nothing to bite. Trump is a garbage human. Always has been.

But asking your (idiot) supporters to peacefully march on Washington is not inciting a riot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,539 ✭✭✭✭Tony EH

So those people went to the Capitol off their own backs did they? It had absolutely nothing to do with Trump egging them on continuously and lying to them about having an "election that was stolen from us" yeah?

Those people were there that day because of Trump's lies. There was no other reason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 31,315 ✭✭✭✭looksee

Its hardly worth replying to, but if he did want peace why did it take him so long to get around to telling the crowds to stop invading the Capitol and disperse quietly? How do you re-interpret the words 'fight like hell'?

No, on second thoughts, don't bother. The god-king spoke, his words must be truth.

They were there because they were idiots and support Trump. And think they belong to some sort of community. They're losers.

But people have to take personal responsibility. March on the Capitol building all you like, chant, scream electrion fraud, sing your stupid little Lets Go Brandon songs, shout about how JFK Jnr is coming back.

Again, at no point did Trump suggest violence. Quite the opposite.
