Is there something going on with such a VERY SHORT PoST from Trump. Was he ‘ stuck for words’ or is he , at last, being careful in what he says or maybe , at last, he is developing the capacity to be a tiny bit reflective - if only

Don't know all the ins and outs of those wars but Ukraine looks a different thing to those .

    More likely another stroke.

Here's hoping for a really massive one.

US intelligence has said that there was no attack on Putrid's residence.

I'm shocked - Lavrov lying, surely not?

    From Telegram:

😢A Russian aerial bomb hit the "Feldman Ecopark" near Kharkiv

As a result of the strike, the winter enclosures for predators and birds were completely destroyed, reported the founder of the facility and People's Deputy Alexander Feldman.

The lions were injured, and the situation with the tigers remains unclear. The aviary also suffered a direct hit. It is reported that most of the birds, including parrots, pheasants, and other elite birds that required warm conditions for keeping, have died.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe has reportedly told Trump the claimed Ukrainian drone strike on Putin's home didn't happen.

CIA assesses Ukraine was not targeting a Putin residence in drone attack, contrary to Kremlin claim, sources say | CNN Politics

The intern who actually comes up with them probably had a bit of a hangover today and decided to just phone it in.

I doubt that will go down well.

The recent NY Times article (link: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2025/12/30/world/europe/ukraine-war-us-russia.html ) with a bit of behind the scenes look at the last year of so of the pro-Russia swerve of the US under Trump was interesting. It suggested US military with Hegseth as "Secretary of War" is cowed and going along to get along (even if they don't like it) but CIA was a focus of resistance to the new policies.

I wonder will "Krasnov" and co get busy again, and purge top people there in the New Year?

it is CRITICAL that the CIA findings are are immediately and directly communicated to Putin and in a very public way. Otherwise it will be highly irresponsible of the US. The reason is that Putin could use the alleged attack on his ‘dacha’ to attack the Ukr gov buildings / VZ residence or even take VZ out

1:how can they prove a negative (it beggars belief that the Kremlin did not have fake (or otherwise) evidence to back up their transparently specious claims.

2: amazed the CIA still has any independence from Trump.Long may it continue.

3:could it be possible that a takeover of the CIA by Trump would be overreach in the eyes of anyone with the capability of preventing it?

4: Did VZ's "lying suits New Year speech take direct aim at Trump?

More power to his elbow if so.

In yellow: number of Shahed drones launched by Russia. In orange, numbers shot down by Ukraine. The gap is widening. In 2022 it was about equal. In 2023 about equal. In 2024 about 70% but now more like 66% but the numbers are now 50,000 launched and 33000 shot down

Of course it didn't. If the Russians are talking, they're lying. The country is built on lies.

Trump has been made look like a fool in front of the world.

Anyone else would face Trumps wrath. Yet Putin escapes it.

    Krasnov is some beaut.

if John Radcliffe falls out the a window or it’s equivalent and suffering ‘serious injury’ we will then have a FAIR IDEA of who Trump believes re the aledged attack on Putin’ Dacha bungalow

On 1, I suppose it is a balance probabilities thing (an "assessment") rather than a proof.

Perhaps it was an idea Putin hit on to emotionally appeal to Trump (looks like that worked - he actually said he was "angry" when he was told about it), rather than a well planned out operation, with supporting evidence ready to go beforehand etc.

On 2, 3 am actually kind of surprised myself there hasn't been more serious (well, externally obvious) resistance to the US foreign policy changes + tilt to Russia. I am having doubts about ability of systems or institutions over there to resist MAGA & Trump if they really want to do something, no matter how wild and crazy + self destructive it is (for the US). They are faring worse than I had expected/hoped. The really big pass or fail final test could come at next set of US elections.

edit: I don't think there's any organised shadowy hand in the so called deep state ready to curtail Trump if he somehow goes too far over a line - all those conspiracy theorists and US "libertarians" etc. (who from what I can see mostly supported Trump anyway?!) were full of shít IMO.

On 4. that seemed to me like a ref. maybe not to Trump himself specifically, but perhaps US [and Russian] negotiators and "envoys", shuttling back and forth between Russia, Ukraine and the US over last few months.

New Norwegian poll on whether people think the US would defend Norway. More men than women think it would, but still only around 42.5%. 51% of women think he wouldnt. Also age breakdown. Under 30's are the biggest "Yes" but its 37.5% each.

VZ ‘s ‘—— lying suits——‘ speech was sooooo well and cleverly crafted crafted. He mentioned no names but we can all fill in the ‘ gaps’. It reminds me of a book book called ‘Snakes in Suits’ which is well worth a read . It’s about how psychopaths operate using their ‘ fine honed skills’

But Hitler did not have the the support of the US president.

    WTAF?

The US act responsibly? It's got an FSB agent as President, who just declared The Orcs their best buddies with them jointly aiming to diminish/split Europe. They have been murdering people in boats in the Caribbean and Pacific. Acts of actual piracy and outright war crimes.

The US is a rogue state, it does not act responsibly, and hasn't for some time.

Russia has held a party on the scene of their massacre of Ukrainian children sheltering in the Mariupol theatre in 2022. Sick regime.

Finnish police seized the "Fitburg" ship on suspicion of sabotaging an undersea telecoms cable between Finland and Estonia.

The ship, en route from Russia to Israel, had a crew of 14 from Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

Concern is growing in Europe about hybrid threats as officials investigate outages of power and telecoms infrastructure in the Baltic Sea.

“At the moment, we suspect aggravated disruption of telecommunications and also aggravated sabotage and attempted aggravated sabotage,” Helsinki chief of police Jari Liukku told reporters.

    Another one, yesterday.

Good thing Ireland has eschewed energy independence for immensely expensive interconnectors to France and the UK. All these idiots suggesting spending money on military capability, what on earth for, we don't need it.

We need more of these seizures, especially by western countries.

Yes, that was what statesmanship looks like - nothing like the rantings of the orange idiot in Washington or his puppet master in Moscow. So much said on so many different levels, at least for those who have ears to hear.

What struck me most, and reinforces what I said on here a few days ago, were the numerous references to actual real people in the EU, including heads of state referred to by their first names. I think this is a deliberate strategy to instill in Ukrainians (in Ukraine and in so many host countries) a concrete understanding that they are part of the EU. Not "going to be" but "are, right now".

This is the kind of thing that the British (especially Tory) Government should have been doing long before the Brexit referendum, and the EU could/should have been helping counteract the Faragian disinformation. I'd say the EU learnt from that, and are working with Zelenskyy to ensure that the phrase "faceless Brussels bureaucrats" finds no foothold in a future Kremlin-sponsored anti-EU campaign.

At the same time, it's obvious from the intensity of meetings, that the real faceless bureaucrats - the civil servants from "Brussels" and Ukraine who actually do the donkey work before and after these meetings - are all going to be on first name terms by the time Ukraine's hard-copy application for EU membership lands on the table, which is going to make it a lot easier to address any of Ukraine's structural/functional incompatibilities with EU rules.

In his own words, and with regard to the current peace deal, Zelenskyy also hammered home the EU's mantra: nothing is agreed until everything is agreed. Again, I'm convinced that in the corridors of power around Europe, Ukraine is already considered a "de facto" member of the EU, and we'll see a raft of harmonisations coming on stream fairly quickly - like the abolition of roaming charges for EU mobiles in Ukraine as of today.

    Putin did this.

Russian finance minister says (8.04 minutes into video below) that the Russian oil and gas revenues are expected to halve in 2026.

This is the situation Kings and Generals say pertains on the Huliapole front. I wonder about this map because while the video was yesterday, the dates for some of the maps are Dec 1-21.

    Screenshot 2026-01-01 162656.png

Situation on the Lyman front. A mass grave was found there when it was liberated in 2022.

    Screenshot 2026-01-01 162113.png

Kings and Generals channel update on the battle of Kupiansk, which right now seems a Ukrainian victory. Most of the town is controlled by Ukraine but 100 Russian soldiers are encircled there.
