    Good news -

"The appeals chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) has rejected one of Israel’s legal challenges seeking to block an investigation into its actions in the genocidal war against the Palestinian people in Gaza, dealing a blow to Israel’s efforts to derail the case.

In their decision issued on Monday, judges refused to overturn a lower court decision allowing the ICC prosecutor to investigate alleged crimes in Israel’s war on Gaza following the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023."

I wouldn't be surprised if the US ratchet up sanctions against ICC staff….

Probably. ~It's always used its muscle to protect Israel.

At least the PA put out a respectful presser…

    Haaretz:

    • The Palestinian Authority issued a statement condemning the "terrorist attack" in Sydney, and affirmed "the full solidarity of the State of Palestine" with "friendly Australia, government and people alike, in this painful affliction."

    What dirty secrets?

    Haaretz:

A bill allowing the Israeli government to permanently shut down foreign media outlets advanced Sunday in the Knesset. The measure would replace temporary wartime legislation, known as the Al Jazeera Law, clearing the way for a final round of voting.

No surprise - recently reported that Settlers were armed with IDF weapons.

    Haaretz editorial.

"Trump must understand what Netanyahu will never admit to him – that the settlement enterprise isn't an anomaly perpetrated by an extremist group, but a sophisticated, multi-tentacled governmental system.

The state, the mainstream settlement movement and the radical young settlers known as "hilltop youth" have cooperated for decades, even if not always officially.

The hilltop youth take over land, drive out the Palestinians and build outposts."

I bet this made him pucker up and squirm.

Imagine what might happen if Herzog pardons the alleged War Criminal who, for the sake of his political career abandoned the hostages for two years…

    Haaretz:

President Isaac Herzog hosted released hostages and their families at a Hanukkah candle-lighting ceremony, including the family of Ran Gvili, the last remaining hostage in Gaza.

Ruby Chen, father of Itay, who was killed in captivity, called on Herzog to establish a commission of inquiry into October 7.

You really couldn't make this up…

"Disabled man attacked for protecting his land from Settlers is arrested by IDF"

    Yep - perfectly normal…

    Haaretz:
Sheikh Sa'id al-Amour from the village of Masafer Yatta was arrested by Israeli soldiers after settlers dismantled a fence he had erected around his land, according to Palestinian media.

Footage from al-Rakhiz shows settlers forcing the sheikh to the ground and taking his crutches.

The tide comes and goes but the ethnic cleansing never stops.

“Amid the ceasefire, Israeli forces have carried out attacks that unlawfully target reconstruction-related equipment and facilities,” said Ramzi Kaiss, Lebanon researcher at HRW. “After reducing many of Lebanon’s southern border towns to rubble, the Israeli military is now making it much more difficult for tens of thousands of residents to rebuild their destroyed homes and return to their towns.”

The Rabbi who was murdered in Bondi was not as religious as we thought. He is photographed holding a rifle and a bomb while visiting the IDF and reported to have encouraged them to continue with the genocide .

The attack against Jewish people in Australia was by ISIL who were sponsored by Israel when they emerged in Iraq and elsewhere. The attack had nothing to do with Palestinian political or military leaders.

I think someone posted in the last few days about Israel not yet having investigated the World Kitchen massacre, particularly in relation to the UK citizens murdered.

I also note that alleged War Criminal #1 (at large) accused Anthony Albanese of doing ‘nothing to stop the spread of antisemitism’ following the Bondi massacre.

I wonder if, in private, Albanese asked Netanyahu about Australian citizen Zomi Frankcom, an aid worker who was also murdered by the IDF in the World Kitchen massacre? Which is of course a War Crime.

I guess I was contrasting the Israeli response to the PA response.

And the irony of the Israel response in light of your info - but not surprising.

It's incredible how many people gnash and wail at Bondi yet wave away those Israelis killed by the IDF in Oct 7th. And worse, Netanyahu still refuses the enquiry to keep all those dirty secrets hidden.

There is no other Nation on this planet that is so utterly damaged as Israel in my opinion. I really do feel for normal Israelis and Jews worldwide who abhor the actions of their govt. They are paying a very heavy price for something they condemn utterly.

And of course, they clearly see the price the Palestinians are paying as utterly unacceptable.

    It's not really surprising.

Ben-Gvir, praying at the wailing wall one minute then popping on his golden lapel pin of a noose and heading to the Knesset to debate a law that will allow the execution of terrorists - as long as they are Palestinian.

And Ben-Gvir is a convicted terrorist.

The hypocrisy of that and what you posted is simply incredible. But not unique either….

Came across this old video today. Video from HAMAS showing how they did up the water pipes (civilian infrastructure) to create weapons. Paid for by Europe, the UN etc.

We're the EU aware this was happening back then? I suppose they just signed off another few billion of our money to replace it.

It's unlikely the terrorists will be given control of Gaza again but in the event they're allowed run it again the EU would want to have a long hard look at overseeing these projects even after they're built.

    Edit:

I've done some further digging on this and HAMAS do counter the claim. While this is their footage, they claim they use pipes taken from left over Israeli irrigation systems.

    https://worldisraelnews.com/hamas-leader-we-make-rockets-from-leftover-israeli-irrigation-pipes/?ios_app=true

Has anyone ever read up on this topic? I knew they used pipes but was it ever confirmed to be from civilian infrastructure?

Are you saying that the EU funded Israel to pipe water from Gaza back into Israel? I suppose that is why Israel is not allowing tent poles and pegs into Gaza?

Water pipelines were found buried in the areas of the settlements from which Israel withdrew in 2005. For years, they served Israel in its theft of Palestinian water. It was part of a network that had been used to steal Gaza's groundwater and pump it into the occupied lands. We discovered the plans for that network, and then we dug into the ground and pulled out the pipes, so that they could be used in our military industries.

Israel continues to veto any role for Turkiye in Palestine

Turkey has reportedly been excluded from a US-led military conference on post-war Gaza in Qatar, a move widely attributed to Israeli opposition, despite Ankara’s declared readiness to participate and its strong ties with Washington and Doha.

Turkey was not invited to a US Central Command-organized conference in Doha on Tuesday focused on a proposed "international stabilization force" for the besieged Gaza Strip, reported the Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz, citing a Western diplomat and an Arab source close to Ankara.

The unnamed sources told the daily that Turkey's exclusion is linked to Israel's veto of its participation in the stabilization force.

No idea about the use of "civilian infrastructure" but we do know that Israel built many of the "tunnels" and that they funded Hamas.

But I suspect there'll be no more using civilian infrastructure to make anything given Israel has destroyed most of it and destroyed the agricultural land too.

I recall the BBC suggesting it would take upwards of 20 years just to remove the rubble.

    So no quick fix?

Has it been confirmed HAMAS was an Israeli proxy? Were HAMAS aware Israel were funding them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 5,607 ✭✭✭dmcdona

You should read back through the thread for the fine detail - but yes, Israel funded Hamas.

How do we know? Because Israel confirmed it.

How many were killed in German during WW2 when the nazis refused to surrender. That’s what happens during wars when you have loons in charge.

Haven't seen that old canard dragged out in a long time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,225 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

I'd well believe it but was HAMAS aware where the funds were coming from?

I wonder what the "suspicious objects" were? Perhaps a pair of flip flops, a bicycle wheel or god forbid, a carrier bag.

And Israel is still denying the entry of shelters/tents - much to the misfortune of a two-week old baby.

    Haaretz:
The IDF said it killed one Palestinian who crossed the Yellow Line in southern Gaza and approached troops with suspicious objects.

A two-week-old baby, Mohammed Khalil Abu al-Khir, has died from hypothermia in Gaza after being hospitalized in the intensive care unit, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said

All is not well between the US and Israel.
Israel has been violating the ceasefire since day one.

    Haaretz:

The White House has told PM Netanyahu that Israel's strike in Gaza over the weekend, which killed a top Hamas militant, was a violation of the cease-fire agreement brokered by U.S. President Trump, Axios reported, citing two U.S. officials.

The report describes the message to PM Netanyahu as "stern and private," adding that top envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff have become "very frustrated" with Netanyahu.

So what was the HAMAS angle accepting it? We're going to attack them anyway so might aswell take their money?
