Need help on deciding whether to apply or not

    Hi all,

Hope you all are doing well! It’s always been a dream of mine to be guard but fear my decisions in the past will not let that happen.

I had a minor cannabis offence in college and everything was thrown out and that but I stupidly didn’t learn from that and continued smoking occasionally up until a month ago when I decided I need real change in my life.

I was recommended to many people including current guards to apply as they think it’ll be a great fit for me (they have little knowledge of my smoking) and was told to apply at the next intake.

I’m just seriously worried that if I do apply my past may come back to haunt me or more than likely the fact that I was smoking so recently will definitely kill my chances.

Any advice for me (with as little judgement as possible please)

What harm is there is applying anyway? Go for it and see what happens. If you don't, you'll never know.

Put in your application, you've nothing to lose.
The worst that can happen is they say no.

We need more guards stoned off their heads, make them more relaxed and less likely to Taser the public.

Honestly, go for it. They're crying out for guards, so they shouldn't make an issue over something that happened years ago.
