Thanks for this, just added a few thousand avios there with vouchers that weren't used.

remember certa also earns Tesco club card points so when filling up the car or getting home heating oil,it’s a good idea to go there

So €1750 spent in Tesco gets you €17.50.of club card vouchers, they say thay will get you a one way reward flight to Paris...assume taxes and charges are on top?

Is it just me or this not that great a deal....

You do realise you can take the purchases home with you from Tesco.

You are not just giving them money for Avios.

indeed and it’s a lot better earn rate than the aer credit card

If you use a Rev credit card in Tesco and buying your certa fuel ,you won’t be rolling in avios but you’ll have a lot more again.

BTW,you get to use the fuel you buy too, imagine that 😂

Groceries, clothes, toys, electronics, home and garden items. I don't go to Tesco much and still won't be going out of my way to shop there but it's a good deal for anybody who shops there anyway.

I find some of their basic items of clothing like pyjamas, plain t shirts etc quite good quality for the price, better than Penneys. When my children were small I bought a lot of their clothes in Tesco.

    This.

Obviously your getting the shopping/fuel, what i was trying to say is that whilst its a good deal (if you shop in Tesco) it's not as great as they are making out.

Flights are also FROM €17.50 of clubcard points plus taxes, and we all know how restrictive getting reward flights can sometimes be.

Whoever said €1750 is 6 months shopping, try having a family!!

I’m all for earning easy avios for day to day stuff that I am buying already. That certa beside me (which I use from time to time) will be solely getting used now for filling up my car.

I’m also well versed in using my avios, so that’s an easy win.

I suppose not being a regular Tesco shopper I was thinking of it from an opportunity cost POV. I had a €2.50 voucher on my tesco app and that would barely buy me a soft drink now with the DRS, and I'm not in tesco that often so I said I'd may get rid of it and add 600 avios to the existing pile.

Revolut Pay is now on booking.com, this offers extra rev points if you use it to pay. When I've used it before, it doubled the rev points that you would have gotten.

Until January 3rd if you use Revolut pay on booking.com you get 10x rev points. Combine that with getting I think it's 8 avios for every Euro and you could do pretty well if you're converting your rev points to avois.

20% bonus when you convert Revpoints to Avios until 30th November

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 646 ✭✭✭Dublinflyer

Do you need to do anyhitng to get the bonus or does it just happen? I can't see anything on my Rev account about it. Thanks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 3,703 ✭✭✭Blackjack

as long as you transfer before the 30th the bonus gets added on the receiving account side. I transferred a bunch of rev points last night and the 20% was added to the avios amount on the aer club account

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 646 ✭✭✭Dublinflyer

Nice, I have been lazy lately and not transfered anything so have a pile to move, glad I didn't do it now. Cheers!

They seem to do it at least a couple of times a year, probably best to always wait before transferring them unless you actually need them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,273 ✭✭✭PopTarts

Thanks for this. Where do you get notified about this? I missed the last one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,741 ✭✭✭Nolimits

This occasion, I first saw it on an Aer Lingus tiktok, but also got a notification and mail from Revolut about it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,114 ✭✭✭ballyargus

I transferred my points, the small print said that there was a 20% bonus but I didn't see any difference, I just got the 1:1 rate. Unless it's applied later?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,865 ✭✭✭g0g

Yeah I saw nothing outbound on the Revolut side, but when you log into Aer Lingus and check your transactions the incoming number is higher

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,883 ✭✭✭pureza

    Revolut sent me an email

I transferred to BA and the points went across instantly with the 20% extra avios in one transaction

Is there anyway to select a seat when making an Avios Aer Lingus booking?
I can’t see where to do it when booking through rewards.aerlingus.com or after I have made the booking on the Aer Lingus website.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,043 ✭✭✭Van.Bosch

you have to call them - make sure to ask for online pricing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,883 ✭✭✭pureza

I see BA is doing another avios devaluation about 10% from Dec 15th and upping the charges

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,903 ✭✭✭thebiglad

This is the counter position to all of our joy at Revolut generous points etc, the value of those points becomes devalued a bit like printing a currency and causing hyper inflation - too many people chasing too few flight options so inevitably cost goes up.

Anyone get the e mail about linking the account to UBER for a chance to win 100000 Avios points.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 546 ✭✭✭knockon

As an Aer Club Platinum member travelling on BA on an EI ticket, can I select a transatlantic BA Business class seat selection free? I think maybe its for One World only?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 276 ✭✭x567

Not in my experience. I’ve had to pay for seat selection before in similar circumstances even though my BA status would normally give me free seating choice when booking. Last time I did an EI ticket on BA metal the cost saving relative to the BA ticketed option for the same flights was quite significant, so easily paid for the seating costs…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 875 ✭✭✭Arbie

Correct, I spoke to them this week about a similar situation and it's for BA/OneWorld only.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,657 ✭✭✭goingnowhere

On AA it works, it should work on BA…

I see here (https://www.aerlingus.com/book/plan/airline-partners/) that Aer Lingus partner with Air Canada and suggests you can earn poitns on either.

I am flying with Air Canada next week and was looking to add my AerClub number but it is not possible. Maybe I should ask the gate agent at check in?
