It’s turned livelier in central Dublin than I was expecting - nothing terrible but some serious howls in last 20 mins.

Wild enough here in rosslare the last few hours. You would miss the weather station here. Johnstown castle gusting 102km/h on latest reports and that's well inland and sheltered compared to Rosslare.

A very loud, windy and dark North Wicklow. Not much rain. Need to take the dog out. Note to self: always take dog out early before the weather gets bad.

So far on the ESB site it looks like mostly a southeast event. West Cork and Kerry seem to have escaped lightly.

Picked up big time in north Offaly. But not Eowyn levels.

Some serious gusts here in east roscommon.

Im from Galway so well accustomed to wind, but some of these are serious.

I've just braved it and opened the back door. Holy God. It's deceptive because there are seconds of calm and then (just as I go out of course) wild gusts. So take care. That's South Dublin.

I went out to put the bins back up from the end of the garden. I've now used bungee cords to attach them through the handles to a low branch on the tree. But the tree might fall, and then Humpty Dumpty will have no tree, no bins.

Met Éireann - The Irish Meteorological Service

Perhaps I'm missing something but the Met Eireann map seems to have the storm at its peak around now over the Midlands. It's windy but nothing mad yet.

Ye have all gone soft with your amber warnings & your school closures.

In my day you'd be out working on the bog on a day like this, a bit of wind for good drying.

Now someone takes a colouring pen to a map & you're all shivering live a sack of drowned kittens, which is another thing we did back then

    Get well soon RobbingBandit!

The wind seems to have picked up a lot in the past hour in Dublin. There is a constant woosh sound in the air. Seems to be coming from South West direction. Also getting dark again but that might be a December thing

The worst of it seems to have passed Wicklow now. It's beginning to brighten up and the gusts have lessened in strength. It's still windy for sure but it doesn't feel like the roof is going to come off the house any more. Definitely one of the windier storms I can remember for Wicklow in the past number of years.

2 hours of calm, but back blowing again here, tho not as rough as the 10-1 stint.

    Laois/offaly/tipp border

For all the people with the "you have gone soft / it's only breezy etc", you are not riling me, you are just going on my ignore list.

Funny how many of these are from people with less than 1000 posts.

In Portlaoise today, the last hour has been the worst. Generally just a breezy day but had some fair gusts over the last hour. Rain is hitting now too.

I was watching the Dub airport live feed earlier, majority were landing fine, some crabbing but otherwise good. Just checked it now and the wind has definitely picked up considerably. Majority of tracked flights on Flightradar are all Dublin bound. Plenty of delays and cancellations. Just watching the flight from LA now, looks to be diverting to Shannon possibly.

Just got going here in the West also, but nothing like Eowyn or indeed the previous storm we had, so far.

South Mayo and apart from being dark and the odd bit of rain there's zilch to report.

Its gone calm here but let's see between now and 7pm

Yes, without exaggerating it’s as bad as anything I’ve experienced, some quite worrying gusts.

On the Cavan/Longford Boarder here. Its windy but not bad. It was really bad last Friday and we had no warnings in place. Keep the updates coming.

Still waiting for any gusts at all in Oranmore Co Galway. Just a normal wet and windy day so far.

Not been too bad in Tralee today. Wife just popped into me and said it's improving.

Still waiting on the big gusts in Southwest Mayo, which is odd as Mace Head was reporting the wind change and increase at 2pm. Feels like 50 gusting to 80 right now here.

very quiet here in Carrick on Shannon. We’ll see what the evening brings but looking at reports I’m not looking forward to it!
