Would Israel Action be proscribed as a terrorist organisation?

With the exception of east Jerusalem. After it was taken over arabs could apply for israeli citizenship. But they've made it really hard to do it now. Whereas any jewish person from anywhere else in the world can just travel there and get it.

And if it comes to that, if a jewish person from the US was to travel to the west bank, they could live on occupied land and have more rights than the Palestinians who were displaced.

There could be over 100,000 dead Palestinians from Israel’s bombings of Gaza since October 2023 and the BBC describe the Eurovision meeting tonight as a watershed moment for Eurovision. Israel has been caught corrupting the public voting but have not been named. What would happen if Israel bombed a European city, would the Eurovision organisers even go as far as to express mild disapproval?

The Eurovision Song Contest faces a battle for its future at a "watershed" meeting in Geneva on Thursday.

Organisers and participating countries will debate whether Israel should be allowed to continue in the competition, amid protests over the way its government conducted its war in Gaza, and accusations of unfair voting practices.

Without naming Israel, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) said it would "discourage disproportionate promotion campaigns", particularly if they were "undertaken or supported by third parties, including governments or governmental agencies".

A prominent debate series in Toronto, Canada, has drawn outrage for its plan to host four former senior Israeli lawmakers in a discussion about the two-state solution for Israel and Palestine.

No Palestinian debaters have been included or invited.

The Munk Debates, loosely tied to the prestigious Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto, is set to livestream the debates on Wednesday evening. It's scheduled to feature former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and former Israeli justice and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni arguing in favour of a Palestinian state, and former Israeli ambassador to the US, Michael Oren, along with former Israeli justice and Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked, arguing against it.

The debates only take place twice a year, usually to a crowd of thousands. In this case, the official site appears to only be selling livestream tickets to paid Munk Debates members, rather than the general public.

Germany is financing the Israeli ethnic cleansing and genocide. I suppose the UK and France could have bought the advanced Nazi war technology as well back in the 1940s?

Seems Danny Danon just can't help embarrassing himself - this follows his cringeworthy x post on the children's section of the UN bookshop (perhaps the adult section was beyond his abilities?).

    Dunce's hat for him.

When asked if war crimes had been committed, Mr Guterres said: "There are strong reasons to believe that that possibility might be a reality."

In response, Israel's UN Ambassador Danny Danon told Reuters: "The only crime committed is the moral abomination that more than two years after the horrific massacres of 7 October, the UN Secretary General has still not visited Israel - and has instead used his elevated platform to lambast and condemn Israel and Israelis at every opportunity."

However, in October last year, then-Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz - now the defense minister - said he had barred Mr Guterres from entering the country.

Great to be able to bone up on all the anti Israeli 'reportage' from around the Middle East.

This thread is rapidly becoming a dumping ground for all the 'data' available from that output.

Would suggest that it is becoming tiresome and predictive and dare I say boring……and counter productive!

    Just my opinion…..

    Your opinion is worthless.

If this thread is so "boring" for you why are you on it.

Nobody is forcing you to read anything on here.

You seem to want an echo chamber to wallow in ?

Honest discourse and conversation have gone missing….just a tirade of lifts from questionable sources.

I've asked multiple times BB for you to contribute. I've yet to see anything of value from you in terms of generating any kind of reasonable discussion.

You just seem to come on here and post a good old whinge about how poor the thread is and to disparage the cohort of posters who don't fit in with your narrative.

    How sad is that?

You continue to offer absolutely fuck all Brendan, either to the thread or the site in general.

If you have any point on the topic of the thread to contribute, please do so. Counter points should be put forward. Just don't expect everyone to automatically agree with them or let lies go unchallenged.

But quit your whining. It's absolutely pathetic.

That is called a strawman. Rather than address the facts being presented,mm you just create a straw man by claiming it's "reportage from around the middle east" and don't even address why that would be false.

Speaking of opinions, whats your take on the colonisation of the West Bank, Arab East Jerusalem and the Golan by Israel?

Palestine came back from 2-0 down to draw with Tunisia in the FIFA 2025 Arab Cup. Next match is against Syria with a great chance of qualifying for the quarter finals.

Update Syria and Qatar drew 1-1 so a draw between Palestine and Syria in the final group match would result in both countries making the quarter-finals.

A group of Gaza children and their family members, totalling 140 people, returned to the Gaza Strip on Wednesday through the King Hussein Bridge after completing their treatment in Jordanian hospitals under the Jordanian Medical Corridor initiative.

Jordanian authorities stated that patients and their companions return to Gaza as soon as their treatment ends, allowing new groups to be evacuated for treatment in the Kingdom’s hospitals. This reflects Jordan’s firm position in supporting the Palestinians and its commitment to helping them remain on their land without contributing to any form of displacement.

By that logic any country accepting palestinians as refugees contribute to their displacement and actively helps Israel.

They should be honest about it, they don't want them there, just like almost all countries in the region.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 704 ✭✭✭Lawlesz

Why do you keep referring back to “no other country in the region wants them”? Is that the justification for bombing them into oblivion? It’s bizarre.

It’s also clear what was meant by that statement about Jordan.

Jordan’s firm position in supporting the Palestinians and its commitment to helping them remain on their land without contributing to any form of displacement

    .

And from that, you somehow arrive at this:

By that logic any country accepting palestinians as refugees contribute to their displacement and actively helps Israel.

Is that your genuine conclusion from reading that paragraph? Because to be honest, it would explain a lot if that’s your level of understanding and comprehension.

Jordan was accepting the children to give them access to urgent medical treatment as every hospital in Gaza was blown to smithereens by the zionists. I know, a touch of humanity, hard to understand isn't it.

International People's tribunal for Palestine finds western countries complicit in the zionist genocide

    https://www.palestinechronicle.com/a-right-to-resist-peoples-tribunal-condemns-western-backing-for-genocide/

The final verdict of the IPT called for an immediate end to the genocide on Gaza, ongoing despite the Trump-led, UN-stamped “peace” charade. Its conclusions included the demands:

    1. End the assault and siege on Gaza immediately. Ensure the unimpeded entry of food, water, fuel, medicine, and humanitarian aid; open all crossings; dismantle all barriers preventing survival.
    2. Hold to full account the defendants and all other actors that are complicit in the genocide, ecocide, acts of forced starvation, and the destruction of everything (“metacide”) against the Palestinian People.
    3. Implement and cooperate with arrest warrants and judicial measures relating to genocide, ecocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity—including those against the named Defendants.
    4. Rescind all international resolutions and measures that are contrary to the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination, to peace and to development.
    5. Oppose the targeting, censorship, sanctioning, or criminalization of journalists, human rights organizations, and international monitors. Their work is essential to truth, memory, and future accountability.
    6. Call upon scientists and ecologists to support the Palestinian people in their efforts to restore, rehabilitate, and reconstruct their territory and natural resources.
    7. End all military, financial, technological, and diplomatic support to the Israeli government until the genocide and ecocide cease and full accountability processes are initiated.
    8. Uphold the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, including the right to resist against genocide, ecocide, illegal occupation, apartheid, and acts of aggression.
    9. Ensure the Right of the Palestinian People to return and for the restitution, rehabilitation and rebuilding of their destroyed property and land, and the enjoyment of permanent sovereignty over their natural and environmental resources.
    10. Mobilize civil society, unions, institutions, and peoples worldwide to resist genocide, ecocide and “metacide”, and to act where states have failed.
    11. Call the international community to fight the discriminatory nature and use of international law against the Palestinian people and campaign for new instruments or mechanisms consistent with the fundamental and basic rights of peoples.

In a statement on X, Israeli President Isaac Herzog said his country "deserves to be represented on every stage around the world".

He added: "I am pleased that Israel will once again participate in the Eurovision Song Contest, and I hope that the competition will remain one that champions culture, music, friendship between nations, and cross-border cultural understanding.

I'm not so sure the Palestinians and Lebanese would recommend Israel's notions of "cross border cultural understanding".

At least not because that "understanding" seems to be driven home using 2000lb bombs, fighter jets, battle tanks, starvation tactics and Genocide. And I'd imagine the medics, journalists and aid workers executed by the IDF would dispute the "friendship" piece.

And of course, no mention from Herzog of the change of rules that are clearly aimed at preventing Israel from nobbling the vote.

Seems the predicted escalation in Lebanon has started. Deja vu.

Hope all the UNIFIL folks are ok, especially the Irish…

I am absolutely delighted that we pulled out of Eurovision. Imagine the shiver that would creep down your spine if you ended up sitting on a plane beside a known child abuser.

Delighted with the RTE decision on Eurovision. Killing journalists and banning the foreign press is wrong wrong wrong. I hope more countries find some backbone.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Oh no, Ireland (and others) tried to kick Israel out, failed, and now they're throwing their toys out of their pram. It's embarrassing. It's just a song contest.

And the retributive armageddon and collective punishment of Gaza is just a spat.

    Clown.

What's embarrassing is that after 2 years and over 70k deaths, you continue to shill for Israel.
