If yis are going down that route, may I suggest UB40 with Ali Campbell, he's kicking round that time next year

it’s a tricky one to figure out, who’s left available as a headliner that’s to appeal to the 35 - 50+ age group who’s not dead?

Maybe Tears for Fears, aren't they touring around July. Edit: Actually got that mixed up I think its OMD who is touring around July, actually wipe that they're playing Trinity.

Didn't they say something big was "brewing" when announcing the announcement? I thought The Stunning then and could still be them what with the revival in their fame of late

That would be a disappointing Saturday headliner imho.

David Gray / Saw doctors / Paul Heaton would be great

(Haven't looked at tour dates or anything)

Gray has 4 Irish shows already next year (2xMarquee, Fairview and one up norf).

Saw Doctors, a possibility, popular but outside the type of music normally booked.

Heaton, no tour dates scheduled in yet (as of last week when his website was still active).

Paul Heaton back recording going by the posts I've seen on FB. Wouldn't necessarily rule him out and Deacon Blue were support when he and Jacqui Abbott headlined St Annes. Probably wishful thinking though.

Ollie Jennings Saw Docs manager was already asked last week and said they were not playing Forest Fest this year. They are playing Night and Day though

Crowded House, Faithless, Simple Minds, Keane i guess are biggest possible gets for a festival of its size.

Texas and Supergrass who were rumoured last year or previous headliners James, Waterboys or Suede.

Out of left-field options Busted, S Club or Damien Rice :)

Would China Crisis fit, I know they're playing Limerick next week, but I think they would fit the festival demographic, not a headliner though, maybe a sub, or a sub sub.

confirmed new location on Instagram. Bee’s Wing farm.

Seems to suggest camping and stages are all in same place.

very much so, two bands I spent a very very long time listening to decades ago.

think I still have my programme and ticket from simple minds in the rds in 89 when they were supported by Texas.

Yeah, but if everything is out there, there's no need to go into the village.

think you’ve 2 or 3 years on me, the rds gig I went to with mates from school when we got leaving cert results (17).
Lloyd is still always worth seeing though. blue in heaven, fcuk me, that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long long time.

Edit, just thinking back, I went through college listening to Floyd, Iggy, Lloyd and simple minds. splains a lot I suppose.
