Weird issue, Ecars ESB

Hi folks, I've a 241 VW ID3 that I've been fortunate enough to have been able to charge at home or work since I got it. Today was my first time fast charging. I used a 100kWh charger. My card had a €20 balance.

I inserted the cable, scanned the RFID card, and charging would start, reaching about 35kWh. However it would stop after about 2 minutes. This happened 6 times, at which stage I had sufficient range gained. Each time it came up as charge cancelled after between 2mins 20 seconds, to 2mins40 duration. No idea if it was the car or charger stopping it.

Anyone got any ideas on this?

Where exactly was this? Often public chargers are dodgy. You should report it to ESB ecars on the 24 hour phone line, or send them an email.

Yeah sounds like a potentially bad charger

Something might have tripped out as the charging power rose causing the session to end

Worth checking on another charger just to be sure it isn't an issue with the car

Ballybricken Green, Waterford City. I did ring the helpline, but no answer. I was given the option of a callback, but they rang back for a short time, not giving me enough time to answer.
