43" tv recommendations

Hi Caff,

you have selected a good combo with the Sony 43S38 and the VLT7, the VLT7 only give you a small degree of swivel left to right, but it is a good bracket in that when you don't need the swivel, the TV sits pretty close to the wall.

If you didn't need the left to right swivel then the VLT5 is cheaper and also allows a closer mount to the wall:

On the TV front the S38 is a super TV, we have them instore ready to ship, other TV's I would look at include the Philips 43PUS8500 (excellent TV, but the Ambilight is great above the mantlepiece!) :

and of course the Samsung QE43LS03 Frame TV is superb above the mantlepiece, but you do have to house the 'One-Connect' box somewhere else:

It doesn't unfortunately - both it and the model above, the 43QNED82A6 only have Media playback functionality with USB.

You could get a Freesat UHD4X box which will have a built in Hard Drive and record that way?

Yip, the Sony K43S38B does indeed support Freesat.

However if you are in the ROI you will not get Freesat unless you use a UK postcode.

As the Sony is free sat approved then it should have the full 7 day EPG.
If it was just free to air satellite you are accessing then I couldn't guarantee a full 7 day EGP.
